Definitions
- this type of window or French window said to breathable frame concerns windows type swinging leaf or tilt-and-turn, and offers multiple possibilities in terms of thermal insulation, sound, or light.
- a means of occultation of light including a blind blade.
- windows, patio doors or the like is meant all windows or French windows whose opening is mobile functional or whose opening has been permanently fixed in the closed position, and / or whose outside glazing and / or interior has been replaced by an occulting panel.
- the frame is said to be breathable in order to allow the air space to have a fluid relationship with the outside, ie by definition with the ambient environment situated on the side of the glazing or the so-called exterior panel, while avoiding a circulation of air passing through the surface of the blade between the two inner and outer glazings.
- the interior glazing may be double glazing for good thermal insulation
- the outer glazing may be a single thick glazing for good sound insulation of the window or French window.
- the documents are known FR 2 784 709 , FR 2 784 710 or EP-A-1403461 which describe such windows with breathable chassis.
- These windows include, according to the document FR 2 784 709 on the one hand in the context of the opening at least one passage or orifice disposed in the interval of the outer and inner glazing to allow the pressure equalization between the inter glazing area and the outside and, d ' on the other hand, in the frame, at least one passage or orifice which puts said interglazing zone sufficiently in communication with the outside of the window to establish this balancing of pressure or air circulation.
- said at at least one passage or orifice arranged in the frame of the opening opens into the interglazing zone and into a peripheral chamber which is delimited by the frame of the opening and the frame, this peripheral chamber communicating by appropriate means with the outside atmosphere of the window.
- EP-A-1403461 discloses a breathable frame according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such windows or patio doors with breathable chassis have the disadvantage of requiring specific machining and seals in the rabbet between the opening and the frame.
- such a breathable frame device has the disadvantage of interacting with the hardware and drainages of the breathing frame. It should be noted that the path of the orifices or breathing passages is long and complex, thus causing losses to be compensated by larger fluid flow sections.
- the window according to the invention also has the advantage of not requiring correspondence, and therefore adjustment for the breathing device, between the opening and the frame.
- the window according to the invention provides the outermost breathing possible due to a passage through the opening between the blade and the outside.
- the window according to the invention avoids any machining of the frame relative to the breathing device, resulting in a simplification of manufacture and thus in particular a saving in manufacturing time and a reduction in the risk of defects.
- the window according to the invention has the advantage of not requiring any seal between the opening and the frame, or any machining or sealing in the rabbet between the opening and the frame.
- the intermediate profile allows to integrate a pre-machined element in the bottom of the glazing between the frame of the opening and the outer glazing itself, the intermediate section ensuring alone the breathing principle of the air gap.
- the intermediate section can serve as a ventilation support being positioned on the periphery of the panel to choose, ie in the upper and lower part, or on the side parts for example.
- Attachment of the intermediate section in an outer rabbet of the peripheral section constituting the first frame, by means of a bead or the like does not require any specific adaptation, and is therefore very flexible in use.
- the insertion of the intermediate section requires only a glazing of different size to allow the insertion of the intermediate section into the rabbet, the glazing being maintained in the intermediate section.
- said intermediate profile is interposed between the bottom outer profile constituting the first frame and the outer glazing.
- This feature allows you to locate the breathing passages in the bottom of the window.
- said intermediate section comprises dust filter means across said at least one fluid passage.
- the dust filter means incorporated in the intermediate section allow the filter to be replaced for maintenance if necessary so as to always ensure the breathing function of the air space, advantageously without dismantling the fills (glazings or the like), allowing to avoid questioning the main seal of the breathing frame.
- dust filter here means any filter of known type, also ensuring in particular the function of preventing insects from entering the air space, and more broadly not being responsive to moisture and able to advantageous to provide an acoustic attenuation function. Filters can advantageously be a significant element of the product by integrating a particular aesthetic that can convey the technicality of the product and a trademark for example.
- said intermediate section comprises a male part simulating a glazing edge and intended to be housed in the outer rabbet of a peripheral section of the first frame.
- the connecting web consists of two perforated walls disposed respectively on the inner side and on the outer side in order to ensure the fluidic passages.
- said openings made in the perforated wall of the web disposed on the outer side and in the perforated wall of the web disposed on the side in contact with the air knife take the form of a plurality of circular holes or oblong slots distributed along the length of the intermediate section.
- the opening on the outer side is made continuously along the length of the intermediate profile, only the inner wall of the veil thus ensuring the mechanical strength of the intermediate profile to the weight of the glazing, and carrying the opening made in the wall. openwork of the web arranged side in contact with the air gap.
- said intermediate profile interposed between the upper outer profile constituting the first frame and the outer glazing is mounted in a so-called reverse arrangement so that the continuous opening is found on the side of the air knife.
- the figure 1 is a vertical sectional view of the lower portion of a window with a breathable frame of the prior art.
- the figure 2 represents a vertical sectional view of the lower part of a exemplary embodiment of a breathable chassis window according to the invention.
- the figure 3 represents a vertical sectional view of the upper part of the window according to the example of the figure 2 .
- the means 6 for establishing a fluid connection between the air gap 4 and the outside 7 comprise passages 8 passing through the first frame 1 of the opening 16 and the second frame 5 or frame, these passages 8 comprising at least one duct 10 fixed to the frame, opening at one end on an opening 12 of the lower profile of the frame, and intended for the other end to be in correspondence of an opening 11 made in a profile 15 of the opening 1, which carries the outer rabbet 26 in which is housed the outer glazing, the opening 11 being in fluid communication with the air knife 4, as shown in FIG. figure 1 , through a passage 14 in the opening through a seal 13 of the air gap 4 and the profile 15 of the opening thermal break entering the constitution of the frame 1 of the opening and in contact with the frame, as shown on the figure 1 in the closed position of the window.
- the window partially shown on the figure 2 contains elements of the state of the art similar to those of the figure 1 to better highlight the invention of the prior art. These elements of the figure 2 functionally similar to those of the figure 1 bear the same numerical reference plus the number 100.
- the fluid passage 120 shown on the figure 2 opens in the air gap 104 on a vertical face of the blade and no longer on the peripheral seal 113 of this air gap, as in the example of the figure 1 , and which essentially allows the fluidic and thermal sealing between the interior 123 and the air gap 104.
- the fluidic passages 120 are formed in an intermediate section 124 associated with the first frame 101, advantageously interposed between the outer peripheral profile 115 constituting the first part of the first frame 101, comprising the outer rabbet 126, and the outer glazing 102.
- the intermediate section 124 is fixed in the outer rabbet 126 of the peripheral profile 115 constituting the first frame 101, by means of a bead 127 or the like.
- the frame 101 of the opening 116 comprises in known manner an inner profile 128 and an outer section 115 with a thermal break fixed to the inner profile 128, as shown in FIG. figure 2 the outer rabbet 126 being formed in the outer section 115.
- the intermediate section 124 comprises an intermediate rebate 129 in which the outer glazing 102 is housed via a glazing joint 130, a male portion 131 simulating a glazing edge and intended to be housed in the outer rabbet 126 of the profile 115 of the frame 101 of the opening 116, a web 132 connecting the intermediate rabbet 129 and the male portion 131, in which are advantageously formed the fluid passages 120 as described above.
- the male portion 131 of the intermediate section 124 may consist of two walls spaced from the value of the thickness of the glazing which could be inserted into the outer rabbet 126, as shown in the example of FIG. figure 2 .
- the connecting web 132 may consist of two perforated walls arranged on the inner side and outer side to ensure fluid passages 120.
- the male part 131, the web 132, and the intermediate rabbet 129 are advantageously aligned in the same plane, arranged vertically when the intermediate section 124 is mounted in the outer peripheral profile 115 of the first frame 101 of the opening 116; thus, the outer rabbet 126 of the peripheral profile 115 of the first frame 101, the intermediate section 124, and the outer glazing 102 are advantageously aligned in the same plane forming the outer surface of the opening, the intermediate section 124 is mounted in parts lower, upper, and / or lateral.
- Such a configuration allows to maintain an aesthetic as needed, sought flatness of the facades.
- the intermediate section 124 makes it possible to ensure a quasi-continuity of the flatness of the outer surface of the window between the beating of the frame and the outer glazing.
- the openings 121 and 122 of the web 132 may take the form of a plurality of circular holes or oblong slots distributed over the length of the profile, in appropriate quantities. depending on the volume of the air space to ensure proper breathing of it.
- the opening 121 on the outer side can alternatively be made continuously along the length of the profile, only the inner web 132 then ensuring the mechanical strength of the intermediate section to the weight of the glazing, and carrying the appropriate openings 122 as described above. .
- the breathing function is made independent of the support frame of the opening comprising the thermal break profile 115 and the inner profile, for example metallic 128, of the frame 105, of the sealing profile 113, to be confined in a single intermediate section 124, which may be optionally arranged alternatively or additionally, in the lower part of the frame of the opening, in the upper portion as shown in the figure 3 , in lateral parts (not shown).
- the breathing of the air space is ensured that the opening is in the open position or in the closed position on the frame.
- the intermediate profile 124 advantageously comprises dust filter means 133 which are arranged across the fluid passages 120, preferably in the part of the intermediate section 124 constituting the connecting web 132, and against the openings 122 on the inner part of the sail 132, as shown on the figure 2 .
- the filter 133 may advantageously be a spun filter, in particular of the known mechanical stainless steel filter type, which makes it possible not only to stop the dust but also and more widely the insects so that all these objects do not penetrate into the air gap 104. The filter thus placed can be replaced if necessary without dismantling the fills. The main seal of the frame of the opening is thus not questioned during this maintenance operation.
- the intermediate section 124 may be provided with the breathing holes in either a single finish or the shade desired by the architect.
- the intermediate section 124 advantageously placed in the upper part of the opening 101, may allow the attachment of a blind 134, in the web 132 connecting the intermediate rabbet 129 and the male portion 131, as shown in FIG. .
- the upper intermediate section 124 is fixed as its lower pendant in the outer rabbet 126 of the upper section 115, and the inner space of the web 132 is advantageously used for the insertion of a blind fastener 134.
- the intermediate section 124 is mounted inverted with respect to the lower intermediate profile 124 so that the opening 121 is found on the side of the air knife 104.
- the upper intermediate profile 124 unlike the lower intermediate profile, has no opening 122 of breathing on the now outer wall of the veil (in the upper position of the figure 3 ), in order to remain in the context of application of the so-called breathable chassis which does not include air circulation over the height of the air knife 104, the function of the upper spacer profile 124 being to provide a uniformity of the aesthetics of the opening, the fixing of the blind 134 or other occulting device inserted in the air gap 104, and the masking, seen from the outside, of the upper part of the blind 134 as it appears on the figure 3 .
- the window according to figures 2 and 3 may or may not include a seal (not shown) between the bead 127 for fastening the intermediate profile 124 and the frame 105, the latter possibly suitably and having holes 135 for the discharge of water if necessary.
- the constituent profiles of the frame 105, inside and outside, are generally metal alloy or plastic materials, separated by thermal break bars in the case of use of metal alloy, and the constituent profiles of the opening 116 , inside 128 and outside 115, may be respectively metal and plastic, in order to obtain thermal break profiles for the frame and for the opening.
- the intermediate section 124 may be made of metal material or plastic.

The prior art teaches such windows, French windows or the like. Generally, this type of window or French window said to breathable frame concerns windows type swinging leaf or tilt-and-turn, and offers multiple possibilities in terms of thermal insulation, sound, or light. For example, in the air gap between said outer glazing and said inner glazing, there may be placed a means of occultation of light, including a blind blade. By the term windows, patio doors or the like is meant all windows or French windows whose opening is mobile functional or whose opening has been permanently fixed in the closed position, and / or whose outside glazing and / or interior has been replaced by an occulting panel. The frame is said to be breathable in order to allow the air space to have a fluid relationship with the outside, ie by definition with the ambient environment situated on the side of the glazing or the so-called exterior panel, while avoiding a circulation of air passing through the surface of the blade between the two inner and outer glazings. In use, current, such windows or patio doors separate the interior of the exterior of a construction, and the fluid connection of the air gap with the outside essentially allows a balance of pressures in the blade of air, and to avoid or mitigate the risk of condensation inside it. The interior glazing may be double glazing for good thermal insulation, and the outer glazing may be a single thick glazing for good sound insulation of the window or French window.
Such windows or patio doors with breathable chassis have the disadvantage of requiring specific machining and seals in the rabbet between the opening and the frame. In addition, such a breathable frame device has the disadvantage of interacting with the hardware and drainages of the breathing frame. It should be noted that the path of the orifices or breathing passages is long and complex, thus causing losses to be compensated by larger fluid flow sections.
- a first frame adapted to provide an opening function, comprising an outer rabbet for so-called outer glazing and an inner rabbet for a said inner glazing confining a blade of air between them,
- a second frame adapted to provide a frame function in which the first frame is intended to be positioned in a closed position of said window, French window,
- means for establishing a fluid connection between the air knife and the outside, in said at least one closed position,
- at least one fluid passage, one end of which opens on a surface of an intermediate section in contact with the outside, and the other end of which opens into the air space,
- said at least one fluid passage being formed in said intermediate section associated with the first frame, interposed between a peripheral profile constituting the first frame, comprising said outer rebate, and the outer glazing,
- said intermediate section being fixed in said outer rabbet of the peripheral section constituting the first frame, by means of a bead or the like.
The establishment of a direct breathing through the opening, avoids having to work or machine the frame, and simplifies the breathing device by making it more direct. The window according to the invention also has the advantage of not requiring correspondence, and therefore adjustment for the breathing device, between the opening and the frame. The window according to the invention provides the outermost breathing possible due to a passage through the opening between the blade and the outside. The window according to the invention avoids any machining of the frame relative to the breathing device, resulting in a simplification of manufacture and thus in particular a saving in manufacturing time and a reduction in the risk of defects. The window according to the invention has the advantage of not requiring any seal between the opening and the frame, or any machining or sealing in the rabbet between the opening and the frame.
The intermediate profile allows to integrate a pre-machined element in the bottom of the glazing between the frame of the opening and the outer glazing itself, the intermediate section ensuring alone the breathing principle of the air gap. In the case of opaque panels replacing the glazing or glazing, the intermediate section can serve as a ventilation support being positioned on the periphery of the panel to choose, ie in the upper and lower part, or on the side parts for example.
Attachment of the intermediate section in an outer rabbet of the peripheral section constituting the first frame, by means of a bead or the like does not require any specific adaptation, and is therefore very flexible in use. In an existing opening frame, the insertion of the intermediate section requires only a glazing of different size to allow the insertion of the intermediate section into the rabbet, the glazing being maintained in the intermediate section.
According to an advantageous characteristic, said intermediate profile is interposed between the bottom outer profile constituting the first frame and the outer glazing.
This feature allows you to locate the breathing passages in the bottom of the window.
According to an advantageous characteristic, said intermediate section comprises dust filter means across said at least one fluid passage.
The dust filter means incorporated in the intermediate section allow the filter to be replaced for maintenance if necessary so as to always ensure the breathing function of the air space, advantageously without dismantling the fills (glazings or the like), allowing to avoid questioning the main seal of the breathing frame. By dust filter, here means any filter of known type, also ensuring in particular the function of preventing insects from entering the air space, and more broadly not being responsive to moisture and able to advantageous to provide an acoustic attenuation function. Filters can advantageously be a significant element of the product by integrating a particular aesthetic that can convey the technicality of the product and a trademark for example.
According to an advantageous characteristic, said intermediate section comprises a male part simulating a glazing edge and intended to be housed in the outer rabbet of a peripheral section of the first frame.
