Definitions
- the invention relates to a digital timer, in particular for Installation in a standard electrical distributor, with a microprocessor, an associated control program, which is a circuit program executes, a time clock, at least one controlled Switching output, several input keys and a display device with a display panel.
- Digital timers for electrical distributors with a representation of the switching program are known for example from W099 / 30214. It is described there that the switching program is shown in daily time segments with a program bar. The defined time periods of an overall program period are of different lengths, but are shown on the display of the same length and therefore cannot be assessed directly by the user. Programming the switching times is also complex since the time segments must first be defined and it must be determined which time segments of an overall program period, for example one day, are current and which are out of date and are therefore represented or not shown. Programming is also only possible for the time of day, switching in a finer time grid is not provided. Furthermore, a digital timer is known from the patent EP0825501, which displays the switching state of the switching output on an indicator surface with the associated switching times in an alphanumeric representation. Again, there is no easy-to-remember optical overview of the switching program.
- the display device as Dot matrix is formed and in a part of the display panel Circuit program is shown in the form of a matrix, with the lines the matrix has a display period assigned to a switching output and the columns of the matrix have a fixed time grid within the Display period and a set matrix element represents an activated switching output within this time period.
- Modern digital timers come with a microprocessor, one associated control program, which executes a switching program, a timer, at least one controlled switching output, several input keys and a display device with one Display field. This makes them particularly user-friendly, that the circuit program in the form of a Matrix is shown and a user at a glance the switching sequences can assess.
- switching programs such as for heating control or outdoor lighting
- there are characteristic Patterns in the matrix that the user can easily judge from whether the switching program generates the desired switching sequence or whether There are deviations that can then be easily corrected.
- the columns correspond to a fixed time grid and the set matrix elements in the rows of the matrix show the activated Switching sequence for one or more switching outputs over the display period.
- a display period of one day is particularly easy to understand for the user, since this corresponds to his usual view.
- a row in the matrix therefore corresponds to the duration of a day.
- Consecutive lines can simply be used for a display period, like a week or a month. 7 lines then represent a week and 31 lines a month the user gets a simple overview of the whole Display period.
- each switching output in its own matrix in a separate part the display area. It becomes particularly clear when the time grid of the matrices are the same and they are exactly one below the other lie.
- a such a digital timer would be, for example, a weekly timer a switching output in which the times of day from 0 to 23 as Column headers and the days of the week from 1 to 7 as row headers are printed. With a time grid of half an hour then a dot matrix with a resolution of 48 x 7 elements is required.
- the row and column headers also represented in the dot matrix.
- the resolution of the matrix display is then correspondingly larger. This alternative is especially for digital timers suitable, flexible to different configurations should be adjusted.
- Another advantageous feature of the invention is the obvious one Representation of special operating modes such as “permanently ON” or “continuously OFF ". Such operating modes are easily closed on the digital time switches reach and be filled with a completely or a completely shown empty matrix. This makes them easy to control.
- a programming button is provided. Pressing this button the user in setting mode.
- a cursor is provided, which is shown as a flashing matrix element. The cursor first flashes at the current time in the display period. It becomes the desired one using the four cursor keys Switching time brought within the display period.
- the ON / OFF key is the corresponding matrix element in its state variable.
- a matrix element that is not set is activated with the ON / OFF key set and vice versa.
- the matrix element becomes corresponding shown.
- the states are the same for other times in the time grid Way changeable. Once all the changes you want are made the setting mode is activated again via the programming button leave. All changes are thus adopted in the circuit program and will be executed accordingly from this time.
- Fig. 1 is the view of a 1-channel digital timer D with their essential elements shown. It has the dot matrix display device M with the display area F and shown on it the switching program S. The buttons are shown below. There are four Cursor keys C, a programming key P and an ON / OFF key I / O. Switching output A is shown with two terminals at the bottom.
- Fig. 2 the block diagram of the 1-channel digital timer is shown.
- the microprocessor MP controls the entire clock.
- the time base with the the necessary clock is supplied by the time clock ZT.
- the Microprocessor MP controls the dot matrix display device M. Die
- the switching program is programmed using the T buttons performed.
- the switching program effects the switching of the switch R, which leads to switching output A.
- Fig. 3 is a weekly program of a 1-channel time switch in a 30-minute Time grid shown for 7 days. It is an example of one Heating control for a house in which nobody works during the day on working days is present. Workdays (lines 1 - 5) switch on at 6 a.m. Heating on. It is switched off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and then again to be on once between 4 and 10:30 p.m. Saturdays (row 6) the heating is switched on continuously between 8 a.m. and midnight. On Sundays (line 7) the heating is switched on between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
- Channel 2 is an example of switching external lighting.
- the lighting is switched on at 6 a.m. on workdays (lines 1 - 5) Switched on for one hour and then again between 7 p.m. and midnight. At the The lighting is additional on Saturday and Sunday (lines 6 - 7) switched on between 0 and 6 o'clock.
- Fig. 5 is shown for a weekly timer, as in the Special operating mode "permanently ON" all matrix elements for the Switching output are activated.
