Definitions

  • the invention relates to a straight connection piece for partial, preferably approximately half, engagement in hollow profiles to be connected to one another on the end face, which serve to form a spacer frame or as a spacer for insulating glass panes, the cross section of the straight connection piece fitting into the inner hollow cross section of the hollow profile and at least in some areas corresponds approximately to and on its back facing the outer transverse web of the hollow profile in the central region has a recess into which the mutually facing ends of the outer transverse web of the hollow profile can be deformed.
  • Such a straight connector is known from EP 0 133 655 B2 and from EP 0 330 906 B1 and has proven itself in particular with regard to the mutually aligned alignment of the hollow profiles or hollow profile parts to be connected.
  • the recess on the back of these known straight connecting pieces has a shallow depth and is delimited at the lateral edges by a raised area. Furthermore, a flat spacer is arranged protruding within the depression, so that the depth of the depression is further reduced at this point. Thus, this recess allows only a slight pressing with the outer crossbar of the hollow profiles to be connected.
  • the known straight connecting pieces In order to nevertheless form a tight joint of the hollow profiles at the connection point, the known straight connecting pieces have stop projections which keep the end faces of the hollow profiles to be connected at a distance.
  • transverse webs are arranged within the U-cross section, which are spaced from one another in the central region of the straight connecting piece, so that the outer transverse web of the hollow profile can be bent somewhat into the interior of the straight connecting piece, insofar as this permits the side webs of the hollow profile in this area.
  • the outer crossbar of the hollow profile can only be pressed slightly inwards, as a result of which a narrow opening is formed between the outer end faces of the crossbars of these hollow profiles in order to allow sealing compound to enter.
  • this straight connection piece On the side facing the internal cross section, this straight connection piece also has a spacer in order to produce a joint running around the joint between the hollow profiles to be connected.
  • the depression at the back of the straight connector extends over its entire width and is open to the transverse web of the hollow profile arranged on the outside in the use position, in that this depression is narrow and from steeply sloping end faces of webs or steeply sloping walls leading to it or transversely running edge edges of an opening and that the mutually facing ends of the outer transverse webs of the hollow profiles to be connected are bent after being deformed into the recess and are plastically elongated or deep-drawn.
  • the gap formed by deep drawing on the outer crosspieces of the hollow profiles can be filled beforehand or subsequently with sealing compound, the extension over the entire width of the straight connecting piece leading to a correspondingly complete filling with sealing compound which extends to the side webs and thus to a good one Sealing leads.
  • a special embodiment of the straight connection piece according to the invention can consist in that parallel back walls are provided on its back up to the in particular central depression, which delimit recesses located on the back on both sides of the depression.
  • the recesses continue into the recess and form a continuous channel in the position of use which is closed by the hollow profile at the back of the straight connection piece, and that the recesses and the recess have a greater depth than the engagement of the deformed crosspieces corresponds to the end faces of the hollow profile.
  • the sharp-edged bending and deep-drawing of the crossbars only occurs on the in Parallel side webs extending in the longitudinal direction, but this is sufficient to bring about the effects of a contraction of the two hollow profiles to be connected, which have already been explained.
  • a channel remains inside the straight connector, which can be filled with desiccant or, when adding desiccant, also allows it to pass through the connection point.
  • hollow profiles can be connected to the straight connecting piece before the bending to a frame begins and before a last connection point on such a frame to be bent is closed with a straight connecting piece. So practically endless hollow profiles can be produced with the straight connector in order to be able to subsequently bend spacer frames of different sizes.
  • the edge at the entry into the depression of the straight connector can be approximately rectangular or possibly acute-angled and the mutually facing boundaries of the depression can in particular run parallel to one another and approximately at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the straight connector.
  • the walls running up to the depression and forming them over part of the slurries or walls running over the entire width or a depression made in the back of the straight connection piece therefore have a steep, approximately rectangular edge, on which the outer transverse webs of the, despite a relatively narrow depression hollow profiles to be connected can be bent and deep-drawn accordingly.
  • connection between the straight connecting piece according to the invention and the hollow profiles is ended by the aforementioned deep-drawing of the outer transverse webs of the hollow profiles on the sharp edges of the recess, sealing compound can already be inserted from outside into the resulting slot-like opening between the panes of insulating glazing introduced and a good seal and seal prepared. Especially after the application of the individual panes on the outside or the back of the hollow profiles, sealing can take place and the sealing compound penetrate into the resulting slot-like opening at the connection point of the hollow profiles and bring about a good seal.
  • the straight connecting piece can be adapted with its cross-section to a hollow profile with parallel side webs and two spaced-apart cross webs, in which in the use position between the outside cross web and the side webs in each case somewhat oblique or convex or concave cross-sectional webs are provided, the depth of the depression being approximately corresponds to the cross-sectional depth of the hollow profile bridged by the transition webs or - in particular slightly - exceeds them.
  • the transition webs can thus also be bent and deformed somewhat inward, so that this deformation process at the back of the straight connecting piece does not lead to reaction forces on the side webs of the hollow profile in the sense that they deflect outwards and are bulged.
  • the outer surfaces on these side webs thus remain parallel and thus retain their dimensional accuracy, which is of great importance for the tight contact of the panes of the insulating glazing with these webs.
  • the extent of the inward or deep-drawn parts of the outer transverse webs of the hollow profiles depends on the width of the depression extending in the longitudinal direction of the straight connector. So that they have a sufficiently large dimension to enable a correspondingly good effect when deep-drawing and when connecting and sealing, it is advantageous if the width of the depression in the longitudinal direction of the straight connector is approximately twice as large as its depth. If necessary, the width versus the depth also be more than double, so that the parts of the outer transverse webs of the hollow profile which are to be bent inward also find sufficient space.
  • the deep drawing on the steep and expediently sharp-edged boundaries of the depression prevents the side webs from bulging or bulging because the waste into the depression and its sufficient depth exerts a strong pull on the material and even leads to a cold flow can lead.
  • the material of the hollow profiles is thus drawn into the recess, which also continues on the transition webs, so that bulging to the sides is avoided.
  • An embodiment of the straight connector according to the invention for further improving the mutual alignment of the hollow profiles can consist in that on the underside facing away from the recess up to a central notch run-up bevels are provided and that the underside notch has a cutting degree present on the end faces of the hollow profiles to be connected in the use position receives.
  • a degree of cutting directed into the interior of the hollow profile especially at the crossbar facing the interior of the insulating glass pane in the position of use.
  • run-on bevels on the top and / or on the bottom of the straight connection piece which rise in each case directed towards one another, can each be offset laterally relative to one another with respect to the longitudinal center of the straight connection piece.
  • the run-up slopes are arranged asymmetrically with respect to the longitudinal center, so that one run-up slope on one side can form a stop for the hollow profile pushed on from the other side.
  • This can be provided on the outside or top as well as on the bottom or the inside of the straight connector, so that the center finding for the hollow profiles can be further improved.
  • At least the depression is at least partially filled with a sealing compound, into which the mutually facing edges of the outer transverse webs of the hollow profiles to be connected can be pressed during their deep-drawing.
  • the deep-drawing of the crosspieces can thus be used to pressurize a sealing compound previously provided on the straight connector so that it creeps into cavities and under the deformed web parts of the hollow profile and causes the free cross-sectional areas to be filled with sealing compound as best as possible.
  • the deep-drawing process for pulling together the ends of the hollow profiles to be connected and for firmly connecting them to the straight connecting piece can thus also be used in this case to press sealant into intermediate and hollow spaces and to achieve the best possible distribution of this sealant.
  • An embodiment of the straight connecting piece in particular one which previously contains a filling of plastically elastic sealing compound in the region of its depression, can consist in that the depression on the narrow sides of the straight connecting piece has a flat continuation, into which sealing compound at least when the hollow profiles are pressed is movable from the central recess into the area of the side webs.
  • the process of pressing and deep-drawing the outer transverse webs can be used to distribute sealing compound previously applied to the straight connecting piece. Due to the flat continuations mentioned on the narrow sides of the straight connecting piece, sealing compound can thus be pressed specifically into this area of the side webs, so that these areas are also well sealed, this sealing process being associated with the pressing, deep-drawing and connecting, and therefore does not require a separate process step.
  • At least one channel leading to the underside and in particular a flat depression into which the channel opens can be provided in the bottom of the depression.
  • At least one channel leading to a depression on the underside is provided at the foot of the walls delimiting the depression.
  • the sealing compound which is also pressurized during deep drawing along the walls delimiting the depression, is pressed into corresponding channels and moved to the depression on the underside.
  • the straight connector can be made of metal or die-cast or hard plastic or from a stamped and bent sheet metal part. All these materials and types of manufacture enable the recess according to the invention to be provided on the back of this straight connecting piece, into which the transverse webs in the use position, which form a spacer or spacer frame for insulating glass panes, can be deformed and deep-drawn.
  • a straight connection piece designed as a sheet metal part can have an approximately U-shaped cross section, which is adapted to the inner cross section of the hollow profile, and the U transverse web of the sheet metal part can have the depression, which is in particular punched out.
  • a very simple straight connection piece made of sheet metal can be bent, in which the recess is provided by a stamping or other shape, which at the same time can have the sharp-edged edge already mentioned.
  • the U cross-section can be on the side facing away from the depression between its U legs, at least in an area projecting beyond the depression on both sides, by means of a seal, for example an inserted foam seal and in particular one arranged between the U crosspiece and its depression and this seal plastic-elastic sealant must be filled.
  • a seal for example an inserted foam seal and in particular one arranged between the U crosspiece and its depression and this seal plastic-elastic sealant must be filled.
  • An advantage that applies to practically all of the exemplary embodiments can also be seen in the fact that a depression is formed in the areas of the outer transverse webs of the hollow profiles to be connected, which are close by deep-drawing the butt joints, which are well filled with sealing compound or when sealing an insulating glass pane with sealing compound can and then provides a correspondingly larger cross-sectional thickness of the sealing compound in this area of the joint.
  • connection of the two hollow profiles at their end faces can be done very easily by inserting a part of the straight connecting piece into each of the two hollow profiles or by pushing the hollow profiles over the straight connecting piece, so that they both extend to the depression located in the middle. Then, for example, a pressure stamp on the outside of the joint can be deep-drawn in the manner described, which pulls the two hollow profiles even better together due to the material flow and the tensile forces exerted on the material and prevents bulging in the side areas.
  • the transverse webs to be deformed can each be bent and deep-drawn in their edge region around the walls, which laterally delimit a channel running on the outside or the back of the straight connector.
  • sealing compound located in such a channel forming a depression can be pressed and squeezed into cavities from which the air located there can be displaced at the same time.
  • the one at the The outside of the straight connector in its longitudinal direction can also be designed so that it also extends over the area of the recess, so that when filling desiccant this can pass through the straight connector even after the deep-drawing process.
  • the mutually facing edges of the outer transverse webs of the hollow profiles to be connected can be bent and deep-drawn by stamped depressions around the recess of the straight connector, which delimits both sides and in particular extends over the entire width of the straight connector.
  • Sealing compound can therefore either be provided beforehand on the straight connecting piece, or it can be injected subsequently after the connection and in particular the attachment of the panes of an insulating glass pane.
  • a sealing process can be carried out after the connection, in which the sealing compound can expediently penetrate through the opening formed on the outside in the region of the colliding crossbars by deep-drawing and can seal any remaining cavities.
  • the sealing compound can expediently penetrate through the opening formed on the outside in the region of the colliding crossbars by deep-drawing and can seal any remaining cavities.
  • an increased thickness of the sealing compound is achieved in this area, so that a such a spacer frame allows a smaller thickness of the sealing compound and yet a required minimum thickness is achieved in the joint area.
  • the ends of the crosspieces - when connected to the straight connector - can be deep-drawn so that the distance and / or remaining distance between them is small and in particular smaller than the dimensions of filled or to be filled desiccant bodies.
  • this enables sufficient compression and connection of the hollow profiles with the straight connection piece to be achieved and, on the other hand, that sealing and / or sealing compound penetrate into the hollow profiles and into the straight connection piece, but desiccant bodies or grains present there cannot escape.
