Description

The invention relates to a method for at least partially clock-bound production of bound printed products such as books, magazines, magazines or the like., By perfect binding of sheets in the back portion of a book block formed or by stapling the folded edges of astride collected sheet by means of staples on both sides sequentially digitally printed web or sheet , That the production in the manner described above is performed in the order of the pages of a printed product.

Ein Verfahren dieser Art ist durch den vorveröffentlichten Prospekt "Your Partner in Print Finishing" der C.P. Bourg S.A. NV, Ottignies) Belgien bekannt geworden.A process of this kind is described by the prepublished prospectus "Your Partner in Print Finishing" of C.P. Bourg S.A. NV, Ottignies) Belgium.

In a brochure entitled "Print-on-demand books with IBM Infoprint solutions", IBM UK Ltd and Ireland Ltd offer machines for carrying out the method described at the outset.

The present invention has for its object to provide a method of the type described above, with which after printing a paper web or single sheets both bonded as well as stapled on a saddle printed matter can be made.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the printed paper web resp. Single sheets are transversely cut into sheets and cross folded and in the subsequent step, the sheets are either a stapler or an opposite perfect binder on delivery paths are arranged at right angles to the Forderrichtung.
The user of this method will be able to provide a higher production output that can be performed under favorable conditions.

It is advantageous if, for small-format printed products, the printed paper web is longitudinally folded before the transverse cutting, so that the printed product has a double number of sheets.

Preferably, in order to optimize the page number of a printed product, the transversely folded printed sheets can be provided with a longitudinal fold before the adhesive binding or stapling process.

It is particularly favorable for small format print products when the longitudinal fold is made by means of a hopper or plow.

Conveniently, the transverse fold is created by means of a sword, because a Schwertfalzmaschine allows higher production capacity at the required quality.

The longitudinal fold provided after the transverse folding is advantageously produced by means of a sword, which favors the alignment of the printed sheets for the subsequent saddle stitching or adhesive binding.

Optionally, this longitudinal fold could be created on the conveyor path for the saddle stitching via a continuous folding device, so that a subsequent opening of the printed sheet is unnecessary.

So that no subsequent folding must take place, the sheets for stapling staples can be collected astride intermediate products.

So that a change in the format of a printed sheet and / or the position of a fold can occur without faulty product, the Aenderungsvorgang takes place at a time interval between two differing sheet.

Vorteilhaft erfolgt die Aenderung während laufender Vorrichtung, sodass kein Produktionsunterbruch entsteht.Advantageously, the change takes place while the device is running, so that no production interruption occurs.

To carry out the method, a device may be provided which responds to a unroll station for the unwinding of a roll of paper web. a loading station for feeding single sheets, and a fed paper web resp. the supplied single sheet at least one-sided digital has illustrative / descriptive printing unit, a cross cutter for separating the printed paper web in single sheets for further processing by adhesive binding or saddle stitching, wherein instead of a paper web and single sheets are used as the starting material. The cross cutter is advantageous a one transverse to the conveying direction of the paper web. the single sheet arranged fold-generating folding device downstream of the folded sheets are fed to the folding device optionally on a perpendicular to the conveying direction conveying path an adhesive binder or saddle stitcher.

The conveying path can be assigned a folding device for a directed in the conveying direction of the sheet longitudinal fold to optimize the page number of a printed product, said folding device upstream of the conveying paths or is arranged on a conveying path.

Preferably, the conveying path associated with the adhesive binding process has a printing sheet for gathering book blocks, which ensures continuous further processing.

Likewise, the conveying path for the saddle stitching consists of a saddle-shaped conveyor system which astride the printed sheets to form intermediates, and a stapling device connected thereto.

The processing stations of the device forming Abrollstation, printing units, sheeters, folding devices, Klebebind- and Sammelheftsysteme are at least working on sections of the processing path resp. machine cycle connected.

The embodiment shows an apparatus 1 for carrying out a method for the at least partially clock-bound production of bound printed products, such as books, magazines, magazines or the like. The device 1, which can also be referred to as an attachment, consists in the order of Processing from a reeling station 3 for a paper web 2 to be unrolled from a reel, from which latter two digital printing units 4, 5 are fed, so that the paper web 2 can be printed on both sides, especially since a turning bar 6 is arranged therebetween, and a subsequent longitudinal folding device 7, which folds the paper web 2 by means of hopper or plow parallel to the conveying direction. Thereafter, the printed paper web 2 passes through a cross cutter 8, from where it is fed separately in single sheet 9 a Querfalzapparat 10. From here, the folded printed sheets pass via a longitudinal folding device 11 which exerts a parallel fold in the feed direction, optionally to one of the two conveying paths 12, 13 arranged at right angles to the conveying direction F, one of which is assigned to saddle stitching and the other 13 to adhesive binding. Of course, the press sheets 14 may be fed to the cross-fold at 10 in a straight path via a continuous folder to a saddle stitcher 15, of which a collecting device 16 and a stapler 17 is noted in the figure. On the conveying path 13 leading to the adhesive binding, the printed sheets 14 are brought together with a collating device 19 to form book block 20 and then fed to the adhesive binding process of an adhesive binder 21. On this, the book block back 22 is mechanically processed and glued and provided with an envelope 23 in a known manner. Opposite the sheets 14 are collected for stapling on a conveyor support (not visible) and fed to a designated stapling apparatus 24. In the illustrated embodiment, the sheets 14 are fed falzvoran the Sammelheft- or perfect binding process.
