A method for feeding a cover (10, 11, 12, 13) in the production of perfect-bound or saddle-stitched books, brochures, magazines or a similar printed products (14, 15) featuring an inner part (2) that consists of a collection of folded sections, layers and/or individual sheets and a cover (10, 11, 12, 13) that is placed around the inner part (2) and connected thereto, characterized in that a roll (3) consisting of a wound-up cover web (4) is supplied, that the cover web (4) is unwound, that a single cover sheet (10, 11, 12, 13) is newly created by separating it from the cover web (4) by a cross cutter (35) just before it is joined with the inner part (2), and that a single cover sheet (10, 11, 12, 13) with the desired format height is fed to the inner part (2) in order to be placed around the inner part and connected thereto.
  2. The method according to Claim 1, characterized in that the cover web (4) is printed after it is unwound.
  3. The method according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the unwound cover web (4) is selectively pre-treated by means of coating, scoring, embossing, punching and/or perforating.
  4. The method according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the unwound cover web (4) is reduced to the desired cover width by trimming the cover web on one or both sides.
  5. The method according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that supplements such as advertising cards (6), CDs or the like are applied on the unwound cover web (4).
  6. The method according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that a lining strip (5) is glued along the unwound cover web (4).
  7. The method according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that cover flaps are folded in on one or both sides of the unwound cover web (4).
  8. The method according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the cover web (8) consists of two material webs (7) that are unwound parallel to one another, in that both webs (7) are folded, and in that the two webs (7) are flatly glued into a combined end sheet web (8) by means of a lining strip (5) while their folded edges face one another at a defined distance from one another.
  9. The method according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the cover sheet (10, 11, 12, 13) is separated from the cover web (4, 8) shortly before it is combined with the inner part (2).
  10. The method according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterized in that cover sheets (11) are separated from the cover web (4) and fed to a magazine (39) in order to be intermediately stored, wherein a cover sheet (11) is decollated from the magazine (39) and fed to the inner part (2).
  11. The method according to one of Claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the method is utilized in an adhesive binder (1) for producing perfect-bound book blocks (15), brochures (14) or magazines.
  12. The method according to one of Claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the method is utilized in a gather-stitcher machine for producing insert brochures such as journals that are saddle-stitched with wire, wherein the cover sheet is essentially folded centrally after this separation from the cover web.
  13. A device for producing perfect-bound or saddle-stitched books, brochures, magazines or similar printed products (14, 15), comprising a transport device (16) for the folded sections, layers and/or individual sheets that are gathered into a book block (2) forming the inner part of the printed products, and a cover feed device (21, 22), for supplying and placing the covers (10, 11, 12, 13) in a synchronous cycle around the book block (2), characterized in, that the device comprises a cover feed device (23a, 23b, 23c, 23d) with
    a) an unwinding device (30) for unwinding the cover web (4),
    b) a pair of pull off rollers (31) for pulling off a roll (3) accommodated in the unwinding device (30),
    c) a cross cutter (35) arranged behind the pair of pull off rollers (31) for separating a cover sheet (10, 11, 12, 13) from the cover web (4), and
    d) a cover feed device (21) for the transport of the cover sheet (10, 11, 12, 13) to the pressing roller (22).
  14. The device according to Claim 13, characterized in a printing device (36) that is arranged downstream of the unwinding device (30) and serves for printing the cover web (4) on one or both sides.
  15. The device according to Claim 13 or 14, characterized in processing stations (34) that are arranged downstream of the unwinding device (30) and serve for coating, scoring, embossing, punching and/or perforating the cover web.
  16. The device according to one of Claims 13 to 15, characterized in a longitudinal trimming device (33) that is arranged downstream of the unwinding device (30) and serves for trimming one or both longitudinal sides of the cover web (4).
  17. The device according to one of Claims 13 to 16, characterized in a supplement glue- on station (37) that is arranged downstream of the unwinding device (30) and serves for applying supplements such as advertising cards (6), CDs or the like on the cover web (4).
  18. The device according to one of Claims 13 to 17, characterized in a lining device (38) that is arranged downstream of the unwinding device (30) and serves for gluing a lining strip (5) on the cover web (4).
  19. The device according to one of Claims 13 to 18, characterized in a flap scoring and fold-in device (42) that is arranged downstream of the unwinding device (30) and serves for producing folded-in cover flaps on one or both sides of the cover web (4).
  20. The device according to one of Claims 13 to 19, characterized in an unwinding device (30) for unwinding two parallel material webs (7) that lie adjacent to one another, in folding devices (41) for folding the material webs (7), and in a lining device (38) for flatly gluing the two material webs (7) into a combined end sheet web (8) by means of a lining strip (5).
  21. The device according to one of Claims 13 to 20, characterized in a magazine (39) that this realized in the form of a buffer for the cover sheets (11) and arranged between the cross cutter (35) and the cover feed device (21, 22).
  22. The device according to one of Claims 13 to 21, characterized in that the unwinding device (30), the cross cutter (35) and the cover feed device (21, 22) are arranged on an adhesive binder (1) with a transport device (16) consisting of a multitude of book block grippers (17) that can be continuously moved along a closed loop and are interconnected with respect to their drive.
