Claims (8)

  1. A device for producing adhesively bound books, brochures, magazines or similar printed products, comprising at least
    • a transport device for the signatures, layers and/or individual sheets, which are gathered into a book block (1) forming the inner part of the printed products, wherein said transport device features book block grippers that can be continuously moved along a closed loop,
    • a first feeding direction (c) extending parallel to the longitudinal direction of the book blocks (1) when the book block (1) is joined with the respective cover (2),
    • a first conveying section (15) of the covers (2) with a transport device, which is arranged underneath the moving plane of the book blocks (1), for feeding separated covers (2) along the first feeding direction (c), wherein the longitudinal spine direction of the covers (2) is essentially oriented parallel to the first feeding direction (c),
    • a scoring device (13) for respectively producing at least one score (6) in a cover (2) at least along the edges of its spine region in the direction of the first feeding direction (c),
    • a joining device (14) for pressing the cover (2) on the spine of the book block (1) that is provided with glue, and
    • a second conveying section (16), which is arranged upstream of the first conveying section (15) and in which the covers (2) or cover sheets (3) are essentially transported perpendicular to their longitudinal spine direction,
    characterized in that the device
    • comprises a folding device (10) in the region of the second conveying section (16) in order to crease the cover sheets (3) parallel to their longitudinal spine direction and
    • the scoring device is arranged in the first conveying section.

  7. The device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the second conveying section (16) comprises an unwinding device (7) for unwinding a cover web from a reel (4) and a first cutting device (9) for separating individual covers (2) or cover sheets (3) from this web.
  8. The device according to claim 7, characterized by a second cutting device (8) within the second conveying section (16) for respectively cutting the cover web or the covers (2) or cover sheets (3), which were already separated from the cover web, to a desired spine length or cover height.
