Dies führt dazu dass bei entsprechender Produktionsleistung sich immer mehrere Umschläge gleichzeitig in demselben Falztrichter befinden. Eine Änderung der Breite des Umschlages mit eingeschlagenen Klappen, bspw. bedingt durch unterschiedliche Blockdicken, setzt immer ein Leerfahren zumindest der Falztrichter voraus, wodurch die Leistungsfähigkeit bei häufigen Formatwechseln, wie sie bei der Verarbeitung von Klein- und Kleinstauflagen auftreten, sehr stark eingeschränkt wird. Ein weiterer Nachteil bei der Erzeugung von Umschlagklappen nach dem Trichterfalzprinzip liegt in der Neigung zur Ausbildung aus dem Umschlag hervortretender Ecken der Klappen, da ein synchrones Einschlagen über die gesamte Umschlaglänge nicht möglich ist.Such devices have proven particularly for high performance with a sufficient number of successive products of identical dimensions.
