Description
The invention relates to a method for producing Books or brochures with a foldable book block thread-stitched printed sheets that spread in the middle with down directed side panels in a predetermined order one after the other with one perpendicular to the fold of the Printing sheet arranged stapling device interacting Staple saddle are fed on which they are after the stapling position positioned and then attached to the stapler for the Sewing to book blocks.
Processes of this type are carried out, inter alia, with thread-stitching machines called "Inventa" from Muller Martini Buchbindesysteme AG.
For the time being, printed sheets collected in loose stacks are separated in a predetermined sequence and transferred to a conveying device, opened in the middle of the conveying path and delivered astride an intermediate conveyor connected to a stitching saddle of a stitching device. At the conveying end of the intermediate conveyor, a printed sheet is grasped by an insertion device on the leading sheet edge and moved against a position stop located on the left-hand side of the stitching saddle; this applies to both small and large format printed sheets.
This means that both the shortest printed sheet on the intermediate conveyor and the longest printed sheet cover the same distance from the intermediate conveyor to the position stop on the saddle; the speed V is also the same for all printed sheets and about two hundred printed sheets per minute are sewn by the stitching device, ie more than three printed sheets per second.
The transfer of the printed sheets from the intermediate conveyor to the stitching saddle necessitates a brief acceleration of the printed sheets recorded on the intermediate conveyor in order to gain distance and is not without problems.
Print sheets that have a shorter fold length and the associated higher instability than the largest processable format are thus moved over an unduly long distance to the position stop, so that the reliability of a correct transfer is stressed accordingly.
The object of the invention is therefore a method and a To create facility with those for press sheets with one shorter fold length than the maximum permissible printing sheet format one that has the reliability of processing Printing sheets on the way from the intermediate conveyor or feed conveyor can be increased to the saddle.
According to the invention, this is achieved from the procedural point of view of the features of the characterizing part of claim 1, so that the transfer of a printed sheet from the intermediate conveyor takes place more gently than before and the impact of the printed sheets at a position stop assigned to the tacking saddle can be considerably refined.
This means that the path and speed of a corresponding print sheet from the intermediate conveyor to the saddle is reduced in the available constant cycle time of processing. This also justifies a lower impact energy.
The measure according to the invention would be the shorter route alternatively, the printed sheet from the intermediate conveyor to the saddle allow the possibility to drive a higher cycle time i.e. a higher throughput of printed sheets in the same time range achieve, on the other hand the degree of improvement Reduce reliability again.
an Druckbogen erhöhen.A device for carrying out the method according to the invention consists of an at least two driven sewing needles, fed by a feed conveyor, to form a stitching device having at least two seams running at right angles to the longitudinal extension of a book block, and an associated one, which connects the feed conveyor at the conveying end in time with the supplied printed sheets, transversely to the feed direction of the printed sheets reciprocating saddle, and according to the invention is characterized by an associated with the saddle, the trailing edge of a supplied sheet according to the position of the head or foot edge of a positioning device at least partially sewn by the stapling device.
This makes it easy to achieve higher processing reliability for printed sheets with a shorter fold length than the maximum permissible, or to increase the throughput of printed sheets.
The positioning device advantageously has a printed sheet insertion device picking up from the feed conveyor, the a reliable transfer of the printed sheets to the saddle allowed.
In order to be able to process printed sheets with different fold lengths, can alternatively the insertion device with this interacting positioning stop adjustable with respect to the saddle be assigned, which allows a vote to make a gentle transfer of the Printing sheet between feed conveyor and saddle can be done.
A cyclic drive of the slide-in device enables one Transfer of the printed sheets also without position stop, e.g. due to generated friction between the insertion device and Printed sheet.
The insertion device could be used as a slide or as a Endless belt formed around parallel axes be, of which one strand in the feed direction of the printed sheets frictional connection with these facing the saddle is.
For the sake of simplicity, the positioning device is after the Format resp. the fold length of a printed sheet adjustable.

Fusskante erfassen.
Band 13 gebildete Einschubvorrichtung 14 statt.
wenigstens teilweise genähten letzten Buchblock 20 ausrichten;
