Description

Einrichtung zur Herstellung eines aus mehreren, durch rittlingsweises Sammeln von in einer vorbestimmten Reihenfolge zugeführten Druckprodukten gebildetes und durch Heften gebundenes DruckerzeugnisDevice for producing a print product formed from a plurality of printed products supplied in a predetermined order by bit-by-bit collection and bound by stitching

The invention relates to a device for producing a printed from several, by straddling collecting supplied in a specific order printed products and bound by stitching printed product, especially magazines, brochures or books, consisting of a one spread the printed products on the conveying path on a conveying effective trained collecting support transferring opening device having delivery device and one of the opening device downstream stapling device.

In prior art saddle stitchers, as described in "Industrielle Buchbinderei", published by Beruf + Schule, 1994, the different printed products are fed via several feeders, which are arranged along a collecting line, on parallel feed sections of a stapler upstream collecting device.
These saddle stitchers purchase the printed products from stacks or other storage arrangement.

For economical processing of printed products with saddle stitchers, a high print run volume is required, i. the required quantity of printed products determines the method to be used. Even today, the rule of thumb is that up to 2000 copies of the same printed product, a digital printing method compared to an offset printing method is more economical because it requires significantly shorter set-up times and requires a corresponding run size an average lead time of about eight hours.

The object of the present invention is therefore to be able to achieve optimum cost-effectiveness in comparison with other proven production methods in a device of the type described above with lower quantities.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by Opening device around a arranged transversely to the direction of delivery of the printed products rotary axis circulating collecting support moves from a collection point required for a complete printed product printed products to a stapling point of the stapling device one step further.
That is, the processing of the printed products takes place continuously until collection and then takes place gradually during the time in which the printed products are collected.

In order to achieve a largely continuous supply of the predetermined order of the formation of a printed product order of the printed products, these are advantageously printed in a digital printing device and then - during the collection of printed products for another printed matter - stapled.

Preferably, a plurality of collecting supports arranged about the axis of rotation are provided, so that they travel shorter distances and are driven at a reasonable speed.

Alternatively, the section of the conveying path between collecting point and stitching point can be formed by at least one traction mechanism of a traction mechanism circulating on a deflection drum, on which collecting supports are attached at regular intervals.

It proves to be expedient if the stitching point and a collecting support form a stapling device which favors the simple and compact construction of the device.

In this case, it is advantageous if the stitching point has a bending device that deforms a wire section that deforms a staple section and a driving device that drives the deformed wire section and has a stapling device that is formed with a folding device provided on the collecting pad.

Instead of an imprecise ejection of the printed products, the downstream end of the conveying path is designed as a delivery following the stapling point.

Advantageously, the display opens in a conveyor arrangement, which ensures the further transport of the printed products.

The display may conveniently be a print product removing from the collective support lift-off device, including, for example, a controlled acting on the Falzinnenkante a printed product sword is particularly suitable.

In order to provide the printed product on-line with an envelope, it is expedient if the collecting point is assigned a Umschlagfalzanleger with which the fold to be folded envelope is placed from the side to the loose lying on the collecting support printed products. Folding or Umschlagfalzanleger are u.a. in the cited book "Industrial Binding" described.

When using at least one traction means to form the conveying path, a Umschlagfalzanleger between the feeder be arranged for the printed products and the stitching.

The conveying end of the feeding device may preferably be formed by an opening device of a sheet feeder or a cycle conveyor; both types of feed are known, the latter u.a. by EP 0 095 603 A1.

So that the printed product to be produced has the specific number of printed products, the device is connected to a computer-controlled device for carrying out the method according to the invention.

1 schematically shows a device 1 for producing a wire-stitched printed product 3 consisting of a plurality of printed products 2 fed in a specific sequence, such as magazines, brochures or books. The printed products 2 to be processed are preferably scaled by a digital printing press (not shown) in the direction F or fed individually to a magazine 4. The feed means used for this purpose are known and are therefore no longer described. The magazine 4 is part of a sheet feeder 5, which consists of a printing product 2 from the magazine 4 deducting conveyor drum 6 and one of two opening drums 7, 8 existing opening device 9 is formed. Sheet feeders 5 of this type are known from the field of saddle stitching and in the present case form the feeding device 10 of the device 1. As an alternative, an embodiment as described and shown in EP 0 095 603 A1 could also be used as the feeding device 10. Fig. 1 shows how a splayed by the opening device 9 printed product 2, the sheet feeder 5, respectively. Leaves the feeder 10 and a subsequent printed product 2 is transported by the conveyor drum 6 in the detection range of the opening device 9. The feed section on the conveying path of the printed products 2 ends for the time being at a collecting point 11, which is defined by a collecting support 12. The Collective support 12 consists of a radially projecting web of a rotating rotor 13, which has distributed over the circumference a plurality of collecting supports 12. The collection pads 12 have at the free end a saddle-shaped area on which the printed products 2 are sold astride. The direction of rotation of the rotor 13 is indicated by arrow F. After collecting the number of printed products 2 required for a printed product 3 on a collecting support 12, the latter moves one step further along the conveying path and reaches a stapling point 14. This is characterized by a stationary position arranged bending device for deforming a wire section in a U-profile and by a cooperating with the latter driving device for driving through the deformed wire section through the fold of the formed from at least one multi-sheet printed product 2 3 printed matter. Both devices are the drawing can not be removed, but they are known in saddle stitchers. Together with the collecting support 12, which is formed at the free end as Umbiegevorrichtung, creates a stapler 15, which is adjustable with respect to stapling distance. The principle of the stapling operation, which takes place during the time at which the next collection print 12 printed products 2 are collected for a next printed product 3, is known per se and described inter alia in "Industrial Bookbinding". Due to the illustration in FIG. 1, the rotor 13 rotates counterclockwise by 45 ° so that the collected printed products 2 reach the stitching point 14 on the conveying path. It takes place between collection point 11 and stapling point 14, a gradual rotational movement of the collection pads 12, due to the required for collecting the printed products 2 to a complete printed product 3 Time arises. After stapling takes place after a further process step, the removal of the printed products 3 of the collecting pad 12. For this purpose, for example, controlled at the free end ausstossbares sword or the like. Serve, which acts on the inner fold edge of the printed product 3 and this passes to a transport 16 , As conveying means 16, two conveyor belt pairs forming a conveying channel are provided, which pass on the printed products 3 to a subsequent, similar conveying device 17. In addition, it is stated that the device 1 has a frame 18 to which the described device components are attached. Incidentally, one of two coils 19 with the wire which is required for the wire sections can be seen on the frame 18.
In Fig. 2, with the exception of the feeder 10, the details described with reference to Fig. 1 are spatially recognizable.

Fig. 3 illustrates the illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2 sheet feeder 5 as a feeder 10 and the downstream rotor 13 with the circulating collecting pads 12. Laterally offset, in the foreground, a Umschlagfalzanleger 20 is connected to the frame 15, a folded envelope 21st deposited on the collected printed products 2, before the rotor 13 moves a stapling step further.

4, an alternative embodiment of the inventive device 1 is drawn. This has, in contrast to FIGS. 1 to 3, instead of the rotor 13, a two-speed traction means 22, 23 formed, stepwise driven traction mechanism, wherein the traction means by web-like, transverse to the conveying direction Q collecting supports 12 are connected to each other. Along the upper, formed by the traction means 22, 23 strands is formed at the upstream end of a printed sheet feeder 5 formed for printing products 2 2. In the sense of a space-saving arrangement way, the feeder 10 is attached to a rack 25 via a tail pulley 24 forming the end of the traction mechanism on which the feeder 10 is mounted.
Downstream of the feed device 10 is located along the upper runs in front of the stitching point 14, a cover feeder 26, with which the folded envelopes 21, as in the feeder 10, are spread apart on the collected printed products 2.
Of course, in an embodiment as shown in Fig. 4, by dispensing a Umschlaganlegers 26 between feeder 10 and stapling point 14 instead of a Umschlagfalzanlegers 20-as shown in Fig. 3, the length of the traction mechanism can be significantly shortened.
In such a modified embodiment or the device 1 shown in Fig. 4, the stapling device 15 in turn by a stationary arranged bending and driving device (not visible) and formed in the collecting pad 12 Umbiegevorrichtung formed, and instead of a rotor 13 is a driven tail pulley 27 provided.
The further advantages of the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3 are also contained in the alternative device 1 according to FIGS. 4 and 5. Further explanations to Figs. 4 and 5 should therefore be unnecessary.
Consequently, FIG. 4 shows a control device 28 which has a computer part R and a control part S, which is tax-effectively connected to the individual units of the device 1.
