Description

The present invention relates to a device for Perfect binding of printed products, which the characteristics in Preamble of claim 1.

A device of this kind is in GB-A-2 114 510 disclosed. It has an odd number around a common one horizontal axis of rotation arranged around receiving parts on in the radial direction to the outside are open. This wheel-like conveyor will gradually rotated further by two receiving parts, so that at a feed point in every second receiving part a stack of paper can be inserted. This comes to rest on a support element and is in one aligned the feeding station downstream and after alignment between the support member and clamped a controllable clamping member. The approximately at the level of the axis of rotation arranged opposite feed point and an odd number of them There is an output point, after every second passage of a receiving part the stack of paper glued to a block is issued. Seen in the direction of rotation are between the Dispensing point and the feed point one after the other an adhesive application, a gauze and a gauze bend and -pressure station at a distance from an even number of receiving parts arranged so that on every second Receiving part clamped, transported past the issuing point Stack of paper creates a perfect binding   becomes. The paper stacks thus remain for approximately one and a half revolutions of the conveyor in the receiving parts and machining on their radially outer, edge running parallel to the axis of rotation exclusively at a standstill. This leads to a restless one Run of the facility and thus limits the processing capacity.

EP-A-0 566 531 discloses a method and an apparatus to collect and then wire booklets from folded, arch-shaped printed products. The printed products are straddled in in a loading area Delivery spaced spacers placed on the a rotating traction device are attached. One by one Deflection wheel revolving axis for the traction device is as Stapling wheel trained. The stitching wheel is distributed around the circumference actuable bender for bending the by means of a the circumference of the stapling wheel opposite the stapler staples placed in the collected printed products.

It is an object of the present invention Generic device to create the quiet Run allows an increased processing capacity.

This task is accomplished by a facility according to the generic term of claim 1, which has the features in its characteristic part.

According to the invention, the feed point in each passing one Recording part introduced a printed product, which are transported past the processing stations to be edited. This leads to optimal utilization the establishment. A smooth run is through the achieved continuous drive of the receiving parts. Where tools from processing stations are required the printed products with what also takes a long time Steps in spite of the continuous running of the receiving parts enables.

The device shown in FIG. 1 has one in the circumferential direction U continuously driven endless traction element 10, for example, a chain that runs around each other horizontally spaced and parallel Horizontal axes 12 rotating deflection wheels 14 is guided. On the tension member 10 are flat at a distance A in series Support elements 16 arranged at right angles to   Circumferential direction U extend. Each support element 16 forms the trailing wall seen in the direction of rotation U. a receiving part 18 which is in relation to its orbit 18 'and the horizontal axes 12 in the radial direction is open to the outside. Each receiving part 18 is controllable Associated clamping member 20, together with the support element 16 a clamping device for clamping the to be processed multi-part printed products 22 forms.

At a feed point 24 indicated by an arrow is in each receiving part 18 passing this between its support element 16 and its in Clamping member 20 located in the open position 20 ', a printed product 22 with trailing, seen in the feed direction Z, edge 26 to be machined, the Printed product 22 on the support element 16 flat and with its opposite the edge 26 to be machined Edge 26 'on the bottom 28 of the receiving part 18 for contact is coming. For this purpose the feed point 24 is preferred in the area of the deflection around the left in FIG. 1 shown deflection wheel 14 arranged where the support elements 16 assume a position inclined with respect to the horizontal.

Seen in the direction of rotation U, the feed point 24 is in the Area of the rectilinear part of the orbit 18 'a Straightening station 30 downstream. This points below the upper run 10 'of the tension member 10 a dash-dotted line Endless tension element 32 on the same direction to the direction of rotation U and at the same speed as the tension member 10 is driven. Are on the tension element 32 directional cams 34 also arranged one behind the other at a distance A,   which by means of a backdrop 36 during the Passing through the upper run of the tension element 32 Openings in the bottom 28 into the receiving parts 18th are movable to align the printed products 22 raise the desired level. Above the orbit 18 ', the straightening station 30 has a vibration element 38 on that on the edges 26 of the printed products to be processed 22 acts and caused by the vibrations, that the individual parts of the printed products 22 am Straightening cam 34 abut. As indicated by the double arrow 38 ' can the vibrating element 38 in and against the Direction of rotation U to be arranged to be movable in one Section of the orbit 18 with the printed products 22 to run along. Before the directional cam 34 is lowered again the clamping member 20 is in the clamping position 20 '' spent in which it is the printed product 20 in one along the outer edge of the support element 16 running area presses against that. Like this from the 1 can be seen, the directional printing products are available 22 with an edge 26 to be machined Area above the support element 16.

The straightening station 30 is followed by a milling station 40, which is designed to print products in the area of the edge 26 to be machined on the dash-dotted line indicated level 40 'to mill back (see also Fig. 2-5).

Viewed in the direction of rotation U, the milling station 40 is followed by one Finishing station 42 and this an adhesive application station 44, which is intended to the previous finely machined back 22 'of the printed products 22   Apply glue.

With an adhesive backing station 46, each Print product 22 a folded envelope 48 astride put on, which at a downstream pressure station 50 by means of pressure elements 52 along the entire back pressed against the printed product 22 becomes. The pressing elements 52 are dash-dotted indicated endless further tension element 54 attached to to revolve in the direction of arrow 52 'and in one section the circulation spell 18 'with the printed products 22 to run along and press the envelopes 48.

With 56 a drying station is indicated, which is in Area of the deflection of the receiving parts 18 around that in the Fig. 1 is shown deflection wheel 14, in which the adhesive, for example with heat, ultrasound or Air draft is dried.

When transported along the lower run of the orbit 18 'the adhesive can dry up and the to speed up the drying process of heated printed products 22 cool down. Is below the feed point 24 an output area 58 is arranged in which the clamping members 20 moved towards the open position 20 ' to release the bound finished products 60 which from the receiving parts 18 to a in the direction of removal W circumferentially driven guide belt 62 slide around to be transported away there in scale formation.

An insertion station is indicated by arrow 64, which is intended between each envelope 48 and that in   this arranged print product 22 from above, for example to insert a card. This is easily possible are the envelopes 48 when going through the lower strand still partially open, since yes on the one hand the support elements 16 and on the other hand the clamping members 20th intervene between these and the printed products 22.

As indicated by the dash-dotted rectangle 66, is it is also conceivable that some or all of the processing stations 30.40.42.44.46.50.56 below the top section the orbit 18 'of the receiving parts 18 is arranged are. In this case, the printed products 22 at the feed point 24 with the edge 26 to be machined ahead, into the receiving parts without a bottom 28 18 introduced and with the along the to be processed Edge 26 extending area, towards the bottom above the support elements 16, aligned and processed. In this case, the clamping members 20 act accordingly in the lower end region of the receiving parts 18 and become the printed products 22 between the feed point 24 and the straightening station by means of support means falling down hindered.

If necessary, the finished products 60 can be in one Cutting station 68, as for example from CH-A-668 216 is known to be tailored.

Fig. 2 shows gathered the processing of the receiving parts 18 imported printing products 22. The floors 28 of the receiving parts 18 are attached to the tension member 10 and they stand at the rear end seen in the direction of rotation U. The support element 16 is L-shaped. Each can continue   a wall element of them into the receiving part 18 70 project which is parallel to the support element 16 runs and from this by more than the thickness of the to be processed Printed products 22 is spaced so that this at the feed point 24 between the support element 16 and the wall element 70 can be inserted. On is the side facing away from the inside of the receiving part 18 on each floor 28 a two-armed lever 72 at a right angle pivot axis 74 extending to the traction element 10. One lever arm passes through a passage of the Bottom 28, protrudes into the interior of the receiving part 18, and the clamping member 20 is arranged at its free end. At the free end of the other lever arm is an as Tension spring trained locking spring 76 attached to the seen at the other end on the bottom 28 of the U in the direction of rotation leading receiving part 18 is articulated. Means this closing spring 76 is the clamping member 20 in the direction biased against the clamping position 20 ''. Contrary to the effect this closing spring 76 is the clamping member 20 by means of a gate control 78 transferred to the open position 20 ' or held in which the free end of the clamping member 20 in a recess of the leading support element 16 engages and is covered by this. This provides trouble-free insertion of the printed products 22 in the receiving parts 18 safely. The link control 78 has a rotatably mounted on the lever 72 and with a Opening backdrop track 80 interacting follow roll 80 ' on. These stop at the feed point 24 and during the Straightening of the printed products 22 by means of the straightening cams 34 the clamping member 20 in the open position 20 '. After judging the following roller 80 'runs from the opening gate track 80, whereby the clamping member 20 pivots in the clamping position 20 ″.

The milling station 40 has one around its direction of rotation U axis 82 'rotatably driven Face milling cutter 82, the end face of which is level 40 ' is set. Of course, several end millers can 82 arranged transversely to the direction of rotation U. be.

With 84 is an axis 84 'parallel to its axis 82' rotationally driven face grinding wheel 84 of the finishing station 42 denotes whose end face on the Level 42 'is set to 40 in the milling station generated back 22 'to loop back to this level 42'. Of course, several face grinding wheels can also be used here 84 in the direction transverse to the direction of rotation U be staggered.

The adhesive application station 44 has a first and a second adhesive application roller 86 and 86 ', both arranged offset in the direction of rotation U and in height are to put two layers of glue on top of each other Back 22 'to apply. The adhesive application rollers are for this purpose 86.86 'at right angles to the direction of rotation U. and axes parallel to the back 22 ' rotatably mounted. The adhesive application is labeled 88.

In Fig. 2, the Klebrücken application station 46 is only one Arrow indicated. It can be a general known investors trade with opening facility. It is but also conceivable that the folded envelopes 48 by means of   a gripper conveyor, opened and astride on those with the adhesive application 88 Spine 22 'are stored.

Only one pressing element 52 is left of the pressing station 50 indicated schematically. In contrast to the all-round arrangement As shown in Fig. 1, it is also conceivable that Pressing element 52 as indicated by the double arrow 90, to be arranged such that it can be raised and lowered, and as symbolized by the double arrow 90 ', in and against the direction of rotation U back and forth to move the pressing element 52 onto the envelope 48 lower and move it in the direction of rotation U to press on the printed product 22 and then lift and move back against the direction of rotation U to press the next envelope 48.

The drying station is indicated by arrow 56. in the Output area 58, the clamping members 20 from the clamping position 20 '' pivoted into the open position 20 'by the follow rolls 80 'on a further opening backdrop 80 '' run up. The clamping member 20 is controlled in such a way that no envelope 48 between it and the leading one Support element 16 can be clamped.

Fig. 3 shows an enlarged in one compared to Fig. 2 Receiving part 18 arranged printed product 22, which between the support element 16 and the clamping member 20 clamped is held. The receiving part 18 is in the direction open to the top and the printed product 22 is available an area adjoining the edge 26 to be machined over the support element 16 before. At 40 'it is Level at which the processing in the   Milling station 40 is carried out. Fig. 4 shows the same representation a receiving part 18 which is open towards the bottom and the printed product 22 via its support element protrudes. The level now arranged above the edge 26 40 'indicates that the printed products 22 also in this Location of the receiving parts 18 can be edited; cf. FIG. 1, which is indicated by the rectangle 66 Processing stations. The shown in Figs. 3 and 4 Printed products have several multi-leaf, folded Product parts 92 which lie flat against one another. But it is also conceivable that a printed product 22 from a stack of sheets or from several nested folded sheet is made. As taken from Fig. 5 , it is also conceivable that a printed product 22 of several folded together in a zigzag shape Product parts exist. Such a zigzag shape folded printed products 22 can, for example, by means of Devices are formed as in the CH patents Nos. 645 074 and 645 073, as well as the corresponding U.S. Patent Nos. 4,408,755 and 4,408,754 are disclosed.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 The device according to the invention are the receiving parts 18 drum-like around a common horizontal rotary shaft 94 arranged around distributed in the circumferential direction, the parallel to the rotary shaft 94 and approximately radial with respect to this extending, flat support elements 16 in the longitudinal direction the rotary shaft 94 over several, in the present Case four sections extend 96.1,96.2,96.3,96.4. The Support elements 16 are associated with them Clamping elements 20 displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the rotary shaft 94   stored. Three each seen in the direction of rotation U. successive support elements 16 are over a carrier bracket 98 firmly connected to each other a follower 98 'is arranged, which in a in closed around the rotating shaft 94 and fixed sliding track 100 is guided. The clamping members, which are also pretensioned in the clamping position 20 ″ 20 are on the corresponding support elements 16 or pivoted from these protruding shelves 28, as shown in FIG. 2. The one with the other connected support elements 16 associated clamping members 20 are with a common, corresponding to the following role 80 ', 6 and 7 follow roll, not shown connected to one of the opening gate tracks 80.80 '' analog backdrop cooperates to each other Pass through an upper part of the orbit 18 ' To pivot clamping members 20 in the open position 20 '. A possible form of training the drive for the support elements 16, and control of the clamping members 20 is in EP-A-0 341 423 and EP-A-0 341 424, as well as the corresponding U.S. Patent Nos. 4,981,291 and 5,052,666.

The sliding track 100 is designed such that the receiving parts 18, seen in the direction of rotation U, after passing through the lowest point of its orbit 18 'during the period in which the drum is two receiving parts 18 continues to turn in the direction of arrow V. a working stroke to advance the print products 22 of the drum sections 96.1,96.2 and 96.3 in the following drum sections 96.2,96.3 and 96.4 move further. At the top of the orbit   18 ', in which the clamping members 20 are no longer in Clamping position 20 '', the support elements 16 against the feed direction V in the original position moved back without taking the printed products 22. 6 is the way that printed products 22 during a work stroke, with dash-dotted lines Lines 100 'indicated.

The feed point 24 is the first drum section 96.1 assigned. In every passing by, radially against externally open receiving part 18 becomes a part to be machined Printed product 22 introduced. The same drum section 96.1 is also the straightening station 30 and the milling station 40 assigned. Station 30 can be analogous to that 1 may be formed.

On one that can be pivoted back and forth about the rotary shaft 94 Support brackets 102 are at a distance, seen in the direction of rotation U. the support elements 16 and radially outside the Orbit 18 'three around their radial axes 82' rotationally driven end mill 82 arranged. These are destined to connect with the three each Support elements 16 during their working stroke V to move along in the circumferential direction U, along the way the dot-dash lines 100 'transported printed products 22 along the level 40 'of the radially outer edge 26 to be milled. Since the Working stroke V takes place during two work cycles, however three printed products 22 are processed simultaneously, there remains a work cycle for moving the support bracket 102 back counter to the direction of rotation U in the starting position Available. The milling station 40 is then for processing the   subsequent print products 22 ready.

In the same way as for the milling station 40, the the finishing station assigned to the second drum section 96.2 42 three face grinding wheels 84 also arranged on the bracket 102 to during the working stroke to process three printed products 22.

It is also conceivable for the milling station 40 and the finishing station 42 to be placed at a location where the printed products 22 stand still in the direction of the rotary shaft 94. In this case, the tools 82, 84 of these stations emotional.

The third drum section 96.3 is the adhesive application station 44 and the fourth drum section 96.4 Klebrücken docking station, the pressing station, the drying station, as well as the output area.

Those introduced into the receiving parts 18 at the feed point 24 Printed products 22 are in the straightening station 30 aligned and then between the support elements 16 and clamping members 20 clamped by the lower one Part of the orbit 18 'transported. When going through the milling station 40 they are in during the working stroke Machined feed direction V along the edge 26 and then in the second drum section 96.2 in the direction of rotation U further promoted where they may be in the open position 20 'located clamping members 20 again by means of a straightening station. In the course of the feed V from the second drum section 96.2 to the third Drum section 96.3, the printed products 22   when passing the finishing station 42 fine processed. This takes place in a corresponding manner remaining processing in the drum sections 96.3 and 96.4, so the latter are the finished products at the dispensing area can be removed.

8 and 9 show a further embodiment of the inventive Device in which the receiving parts 18th also around a common, horizontal direction extending rotary shaft 94 arranged distributed in the circumferential direction are. The flat support elements 16 run here also essentially radially to the rotary shaft 94 and parallel to this. Processing of printed products 22 takes place during approximately three quarters of a revolution of the receiving parts 18 around the rotary shaft 94. The receiving parts 18 are open to the outside in the radial direction and the various Processing stations are in the direction of rotation U. one after the other between the feed point 24 and the delivery area 58 in the radial direction outside the orbit 18 'of the receiving parts 18 arranged. To the feed point 24 leads a well-known gripper conveyor 104, the on a circulation chain driven counter to the direction of rotation U. 106 individually controllable ones arranged one behind the other Has gripper 108. These each hold a printed product 22 at its edge to be machined 26 and guide it leading with the edge 26 'opposite this edge into the receiving parts 18. By opening the grippers 108 by means of an opening control 108 ' Printed products 22 on the bottom 28 of the receiving parts 18, being flat against the support elements 16 for contact come.

As seen in the direction of rotation U of the feed point 24 downstream straightening station 30, the printed products 22 by means of radially inner directional cams 34 and optionally radially external vibration elements 38, as shown in FIG. 1, wherein the print products 22 with a parallel to the Edge 26 to be machined, followed by edge 26 to be machined Radial outward area project over receiving parts 18. After aligning the Printed products 22 are the clamping members 20 in the Clamped position 20 ″ transferred to the printed products 22 to clamp between themselves and the support elements 16. During further transport in the direction of rotation U ,. the print products 22, as described above, in the milling station 40, finishing station 42, adhesive application station 44, Klebrücken docking station 46, pressing station 50 and drying station 56 processed. The one below the delivery area 58 arranged at the feed point 24 the clamping members 20 are successively in the open position 20 'transferred, whereby the released finished products 60th from the receiving parts 18 with their back 22 'ahead in open gripper 108 also as a gripper conveyor trained conveyor 110 slide. After closing the gripper 108 becomes the finished products 60 for further processing promoted away. If the grippers 108 accordingly are trained in such a form of training of the conveyor 110 possibly to a pressing station 50, and drying station 56 in the area of the orbit of the receiving parts 18 can be dispensed with, since the Envelope 48 are pressed by means of the grippers 108 and the adhesive during transport with the conveyor 110 can dry.

The embodiment shown in FIGS. 10 and 11 of the inventive Facility also has an in in the horizontal direction extending shaft 94 in Receiving parts 18 distributed around the circumferential direction. With those in the radial direction and parallel to the rotary shaft 94 arranged flat support elements 16 of the receiving parts 18 act together clamping members 20, but now with cooperate an end edge region of the support elements 16. The receiving parts 18 are at least on this end face 112, as well as in the radial direction open to the outside. The processing stations are along the orbit 18 'of the open end face 112 of the receiving parts 18 arranged.

An already described above leads to the feed point 24 Gripper conveyor 104, which is intended with its grippers 108, the printed products 22 with in Feed direction seen from the side edge to be machined 26 and an edge running transversely thereto in the Introduce receiving parts 18. The straightening station 30 points directional cams indicated by an arrow 34, which are determined from the opposite end face 112 To engage in the receiving parts 18 from the side, to the printed products 22 with their to be processed Align edge 26 ahead so that it matches an area adjoining this at the end protrude the support element 16. For this purpose, the Straightening cam 34 over a section with the receiving parts 18 moves with it, as with the one pointing in the direction of rotation U. Arrow is indicated. After straightening the printed products 22 the clamping members 20 are in the clamping position 20 ''   transferred to the printed products 22 between themselves and clamp the support element 16.

In the course of further rotation in the direction of arrow U, the Printed products 22 on the front side in the milling station 40, Finishing station 42, adhesive application station 44, Adhesive bridge application station 46, etc. processed accordingly, as described above.

Also on the face of the orbit 18 'of the receiving parts 18 is a conveyor 110 is arranged, which also as Gripper conveyor is formed and in the output area 58 with his grippers each a finished product 60 at his Back captured for transportation.

Of course, it is not necessary that the device for perfect binding of the printed products 22 all described processing stations. Depending on processing stations may be missing or along others the orbit 18 'of the receiving parts 18 may be arranged.

Instead of envelopes 48, gauzes or other types of adhesive bridge elements spanning the back 22 ' be used.

Of course, the feed point 24 can be several in a row have arranged feeders, for example alternately receiving parts 18 with printed products 22 equip, so that ultimately in each receiving part 18 a printed product 22 is present.
