- Rolled copper strip also has a certain roughness. Such roughness is advantageous for further processing, namely for bonding, but would be disadvantageous for solar cells.
- Electrolytically deposited copper foil on the other hand, can also be produced with very little roughness, which is a great advantage for solar cells.
- the copper foil is produced as an endless strip by deposition from an electrolytic bath. Components can be added to the bath, the deposits of which in the copper foil increase the tensile strength and / or temperature resistance and / or reduce the coefficient of expansion of the copper foil, for example nickel. - the flexible substrate consists of an electrodeposited copper foil 1 to which a nickel layer 3 and then a nickel-molybdenum layer 4 have been applied galvanochemically.
