Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for producing particulate detergents or cleaning agents.
  • Particulate detergents and cleaning agents normally consist of a large number of ingredients which, due to mutual incompatibilities, are usually incorporated into the entire detergent in several particulate components.
  • Examples of such mutually incompatible ingredients are bleach and bleach activator, which should react with one another in aqueous solution under conditions of use and then give a desired increased bleaching performance, but which must not react with one another during storage, since they are otherwise no longer available for the desired application stand.
  • a less striking example of the non-optimal interaction of individual ingredients of detergents and cleaning agents results from their pH-dependent performance.
  • anionic surfactants and builders for example, require an alkaline pH value in order to fully develop their performance.
  • both dirt particles and most textile fibers form an increasing number of negative charges with increasing pH, which leads to increasing repulsion among them and is therefore beneficial to the desired washing result.
  • textile washing has been carried out with more or less alkaline washing liquors for ages. The same applies mutatis mutandis to aqueous solutions for cleaning hard surfaces, for example in the course of machine cleaning processes for dishes.
  • Detergent ingredient is understood to mean a substance, the addition of which to water, which has a pH of 7, leads to an acidic or alkaline pH.
  • m c and m ,, or r and the unit of length used for c are each in the same size unit, for example kg and ⁇ m.
  • m is to be understood as the total mass of the particles to be treated and their average particle radius.
  • a particle to be treated according to the invention can optionally contain all the ingredients of a washing or cleaning agent, that is to say with the method according to the invention it is possible to encase a finished washing or cleaning agent.
  • Such alkaline ingredients are preferably alkali silicates, alkali aluminosilicates, alkali phosphates, alkali carbonates, alkali perborates and alkali percarbonates and mixtures thereof, sodium being the preferred alkali metal.
  • the procedure is preferably such that the liquid or pasty acidic component, optionally in molten form, is applied in a mixer or a granulating device to the optionally heated particles, which at least partially consist of an alkaline detergent or cleaning agent ingredient. Particularly good coatings are achieved if the acidic component is applied to the particle over a period of 5 minutes to 20 minutes.
  • the core of the particles obtainable according to the invention contains almost exclusively the constituents of the particle originally used. This core is surrounded by a layer in which increasingly higher concentrations of acidic coating material or its salt formed with the alkaline component occur from the inside to the outside, wherein the outer surface can be formed entirely by acidic coating material.
  • constituents of the particle made of alkaline material can be all the usual ingredients of detergents and cleaning agents that are compatible with it, as long as they can be made up in a fixed or fixed manner.
  • these include in particular other builder substances, surface-active surfactants, further peroxygen compounds, peroxygen activators, sequestering agents, electrolytes and other auxiliaries, such as color transfer inhibitors, silver corrosion inhibitors, foam regulators and colorants and fragrances, the presence of peroxygen activators in the particle of alkaline material being less it is preferred if this particle also contains peroxygen compound.
  • the particles produced by the process according to the invention are, preferably after mixing with at least one further particulate component
  • Detergents or cleaning agents are used, which can be agents for manual or in particular machine washing or cleaning.
  • the at least one further component contains at least one active ingredient whose washing or cleaning action is higher at a lower pH than when the alkali component contained in the particles produced by the process according to the invention dissolves than at the pH upon dissolution of the named particle.
  • This active ingredient is preferably selected from enzymes or enzyme mixtures, and in the case of the mixtures the individual active ingredients can also be present in several differently composed particulate components.
  • the at least one other component of such a solubility that it releases as much of the active substance as possible under the initially lower pH conditions, but essentially only after the pH has risen due to the then higher alkalinity of it surrounding aqueous systems fully unfolds its effect, or which reacts in another way with the alkali component then released.
  • An example of the last-mentioned variant is a bleach activator that is soluble or soluble at a lower pH, which reacts with a bleaching agent released from the particles coated according to the invention and, because it is already dissolved, can develop a strong bleaching effect extremely quickly.
  • FIG. 1 shows the pH curve after incorporation in water of the product produced by applying 1.5 g of stearic acid.
  • FIG. 1 also contains the pH curve of the uncoated percarbonate.
