Definitions
- the invention relates to a work table with suction device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- a first group so-called chapels, as they are widespread in chemical laboratories, are fixed tables, which are usually equipped with a three-sided, mostly glazed attachment in which work is done.
- the fourth side opposite the worker is the back wall.
- In the upper part of the attachment there is a fan or an opening or a duct for connection to a suction line.
- the front of the chapel can be opened by a glass slide, which is counterbalanced in the selected position remains.
- the patent specification CH 535 923 (publication date May 30, 1973) describes a work table with a suction device for contaminated air, which in particular contains heavier contaminants. It is characterized by an optionally divided, gas-permeable, removable worktop, a gas and liquid-tight base plate which receives the worktop, which is inclined and has an opening at its lowest point, the edge of which opens into a collecting vessel for liquid, the diameter of the opening edge is smaller than the diameter of the collecting vessel, and a pipe suction nozzle, via which the collecting vessel is connected to an air suction device.
- the contaminated air is drawn down through the gas-permeable worktop, a perforated or slotted plate, and the condensate is collected in a collecting vessel.
- a disadvantage of this invention is that only condensable impurities in the air can be collected in the collecting vessel and pollutants remaining in the gas phase are released back into the atmosphere of the room or must then be discharged to the outside via an additional air extraction device.
- Another disadvantage of this construction is that it takes up a relatively large amount of space under the table, which limits the freedom of the legs of the person working at the table.
- a work tool for the craft in particular for dental technicians and the like, is described in the published patent application DE 27 11 435 (published on 09/21/1978).
- the implement can be held, for example, by a rail arranged under the table top. If necessary, the carrier guided in the rail can be pulled over the edge of the table so that the worktop is freely accessible.
- the dust particles and shavings generated during work are drawn off by a suction fan via the suction opening near the worktop and via a suction channel and collected by a filter bag.
- gaseous pollutants can be sucked away from the workplace by this working device, they are not caught by the filter bag and, like in the invention described above, are distributed in the room and accumulate therein over time, unless additional ventilation is provided.
- the present invention therefore has as its object to create a work table for beauticians, electronics engineers and goldsmiths, the undesired solvent vapors, gases, dust particles or aerosols formed or released during work being sucked through holes in the table top, so that both the atmosphere is above the surface Work table, as well as the room in which work is carried out, without additional ventilation, remains free of the said impurities.
- the suction device with filter and fan is combined with the work table in such a way that there is enough space under the table for the legs.
- the table should be easy and inexpensive to produce with as few elements as possible and give a visually appealing impression.
- Fig. 1 is a supervision of the proposed work table
- Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through the work table and the tub
- Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section through the tub
- Fig. 4 is a side view of the attachment of the table legs
- the proposed work table (see FIG. 1) consists of a table sheet 8, which is provided with air inlet holes 1 where the pollutants arising during work are released. These air inlet punches 1 are round and big enough so that a sufficient draft is possible, on the other hand small enough to prevent the tool or other working material from falling through the punches.
- the table top 8 is fixed at the four corners by an angle 12 on the underlying tub 9.
- the angle also serves to fasten the table legs 10.
- a sealing tape can be glued to the upper edge of the tub between the table top 8 and the tub 9, so that the sealing of the cavity under the table top 8 is ensured.
- a web 6 is attached in the transverse direction of the table for reinforcement.
- the bottom of the tub 9 does not run parallel to the table top 8, but at a flat angle to it, so that the distance between the bottom of the tub 9 and the table top 8 increases in the longitudinal direction of the table, from the opening for the waste towards the crossflow fan ( see Figs. 2 and 3).
- a pre-filter can be installed in front of the activated carbon filter 11, which removes the dust from the air and protects the activated carbon filter 11 against clogging.
- the beauticians often use a cloth that is placed over the air inlet holes 1. This is pleasant for the hands and more hygienic because every customer gets a new cloth. This cloth then takes over the function of the pre-filter.
- the installation of a pre-filter is advantageous for electronics engineers and goldsmiths.
- the activated carbon filter 11 can be used when the table is used for work, whereby dust but no toxic fumes are produced be replaced by a dust filter. After passage through the activated carbon filter 11, the air is discharged through the outlet 5 into the room.
- the table legs 10 consist of square tubes which are inserted into the tub 9 from below and are additionally fixed at an angle 12 from the outside. The angle is screwed through the pipe diagonal inside by a threaded bolt 13 (see Fig. 4 and 5).
- the suction device takes up little space, the space under the table remains free, the freedom of the legs of the worker is not restricted.
- the suction device is combined with the table in a simple and elegant manner so that it is not noticeable or could not interfere with work. A viewer only sees a table sheet that is somewhat thicker than conventional tables; the actual suction device is integrated into the table, invisible from the outside. This is important because the table should give an elegant and good impression, especially for beauticians. Due to the chosen design, the table is easy and inexpensive to produce. It is very easy to disassemble and reassemble for transport. The replacement of the activated carbon filter can be done by the drawer with just one hand, even by technically inexperienced personnel.
- the undesired solvent vapors, gases, dust Particles and aerosols are captured by the air flow at the point of their origin, drawn off and removed from the atmosphere by the activated carbon filter and not only distributed in the room, as is often the case with other suction devices. At most, the hands of the worker are exposed to a draft, but not the back or the face.
