Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé amélioré sans danger pour l'environnement, ainsi qu'un système de manipulation rentable pour refroidir indirectement du coke. Une fois évacué d'un four à coke (103), le coke est refroidi indirectement dans un caisson à coke (8), puis versé au niveau d'un poste de déchargement (105). Ce système utilise notamment une caisson à coke (8), dont la taille et la forme intérieures sont à peu près les mêmes que celles dudit four à coke (103). Ce caisson (8), qui est hermétiquement fermé au niveau du four à coke (103) pendant la poussée, est recouvert par un flux d'eau pendant cette poussée et pendant le cycle de refroidissement. Un chariot (100) permet de déplacer ce caisson (8) vers un support de refroidissement (104), puis de placer ce caisson (8) dans ce support. Ce chariot (100) se déplace ensuite vers un caisson refroidi adjacent (8), retire celui-ci dudit support de refroidissement (104), transfère le caisson (8) à un poste de déchargement (105) sans danger pour l'environnement, puis déverse le coke de ce caisson (8) sous sa forme sensiblement originelle de 'cake', à l'intérieur dudit poste de déchargement. Si l'espace autour des fours n'est pas suffisant pour les supports de refroidissement (104), le coke chaud peut être poussé du caisson au poste de déchargement avant d'être déversé ou poussé soit dans une glissière de déchargement (58), soit dans un appontement (109) ou un bassin, avant d'être soumis à une extinction humide. Le procédé et l'appareil de cette invention sont sans danger pour l'environnement, permettent d'améliorer la qualité du coke, de faire progresser le rendement de chaque poussée, et d'augmenter la taille du coke, ce qui est un autre avantage. Ce procédé et ce système de refroidissement et de manipulation du coke sont également aptes à réduire le temps que le coke doit passer dans le four, permettant ainsi d'accroître la productivité des fours à coke, tout en permettant de traiter le coke au moment où celui-ci est refroidi dans ledit caisson (8), afin d'améliorer encore sa qualité.
