Definitions
- the invention relates to a rivet setting tool with an electric drive motor, at least one rivet setting device driven by the drive motor with at least one rechargeable battery to power the Drive motor and with a circuit for regulating the power supply to the drive motor.
- Such rivet setting tools are generally known from the prior art. Thanks to the rechargeable batteries, these riveting tools can be used independently operated by a power grid. It turns out to be problematic that the power consumption of the rivet setting tools is quite high. The rechargeable Batteries therefore empty very quickly. It therefore often happens that the voltage of the rechargeable batteries during a rivet setting process has dropped so much that the rivet setting tool stops. Since it is in the middle is in the rivet setting process, this often led to jamming or Block the rivet setting tool. Usually the rivet is still in the Rivet setting tool and must be removed with great effort.
- the object of the invention is therefore to develop a known rivet setting device in such a way that that jamming or blocking of the rivet setting tool due to too low voltage of the rechargeable batteries reliably prevented becomes.
- the object is achieved in that the circuit one Voltage meter for determining a battery voltage value and one Comparator with which the battery voltage value with one in one Storage device of the circuit stored minimum value of the battery voltage is comparable and that with the circuit either when falling below the minimum value before carrying out a rivet setting process Rivet setting device the power supply to the drive motor interrupted or at The power supply falls below the minimum value during a rivet setting process after the rivet setting process has ended, can be interrupted.
- the circuit can be a microcomputer and the memory device has a connected permanent memory exhibit. Components of this type make the rivet setting tool inexpensive realize.
- the circuit has a Current flow limiter with which the current flow to a maximum Value can be limited.
- This current flow limiter allows the power consumption to be reduced of the rivet setting tool drastically reduce.
- the power consumption can be regulated to a maximum value. So this is maximum value for rivets with smaller diameters is lower than for rivets with larger diameters.
- the maximum value depends on the maximum required pulling force for setting the rivet is adjustable.
- the value for the tensile force to set the rivet is a reliable size to adjust of the maximum current flow. This maximum pulling force can e.g. Tables and the like can be removed.
- the rivet setting tool has a switch to preselect the maximum value.
- the ease of use increase.
- a maximum value can be set in stages be. This makes the setting clearer and can also be faster be performed.
- the circuit in the Start-up phase of the drive motor, the power supply to at least one preset Value can be limited. This also allows electricity consumption to be reduced lower the rivet setting tool further. This is particularly the case with rivet setting tools with rechargeable batteries is an advantage.

- the gear 16 has an eccentric 18 on which a rotatable Crank rod 19 is mounted. Between eccentric 18 and an opening 20 in the Crank rod 19 is a ball bearing 21.
- the crank rod 19 has a pin 22 which is pivotally connected to the rivet setting device 5. If the axes of rotation of the axis 17, the eccentric 18 and the pin 22 in are arranged in a line, the crank mechanism is in one of its dead centers. When the eccentric 18 is arranged between the axis 17 and the pin 22 is, the crank mechanism is at its front dead center; if the Axis 17 is arranged between the eccentric 18 and pin 22, the Crank mechanism in its rear dead center.
- the rivet setting device is known from the prior art. On her front At the end, an opening 23 is provided, into which a blind rivet 24 with a Rivet pin 25 can be inserted in a known manner. Because the way such works Rivet setting device is generally known, this is only shown schematically. In principle, a setting process is carried out in which a linear movement a traction means 26 of the rivet setting device in the direction of the crank mechanism is carried out. This pulling movement is usually referred to as a setting stroke.
- the rivet setting device is designed so that when the Crank drive from its rear dead center to its front dead center Idle stroke is carried out and only when the crank mechanism of its front dead center moved to its rear dead center, the setting stroke performed becomes.

- a value can be shown in the display that for the maximum current consumption of the electric motor 2 is characteristic. Through the Buttons 43.X this value can be decreased or increased.
- This value can e.g. are taken from a table in which the maximum current consumption of the Size of the rivets to be processed is compared. Such a table can also be integrated in the rivet setting tool and e.g. in the microcontroller 35 be filed.
- z. B the diameter of the rivet pin the rivets to be processed are displayed.
- pressing the 43.X can increase and increase the value of the diameter of the rivet pin accordingly be reduced so that the rivet setting tool is set accordingly and the maximum current consumption is limited accordingly.
- An operator who intends to set rivets with the rivet setting device 1 according to the invention will first attach the battery housing 27 with the charged rechargeable batteries arranged therein to the rivet setting device 1 in a known manner.
- the battery housing 27 is inserted with its projection 29 into the receptacle 29 of the rivet setting device 1, the contacts 33 engaging with the contact tongues 34 and a power supply to the circuit 45 being possible.
- the operator then takes the rivet setting tool 1 in the hand 32, a finger of the hand being able to operate the actuating device 31 in a known manner.
- a blind rivet 24 is then inserted with its rivet pin 25 into the rivet setting device 5 in a known manner.
- the switch 30 When the operator enters the actuator 31 into the housing 6 presses, the switch 30 is operated. This will be the power supply to the electric motor 2 via the circuit 45. The one charged with electricity The electric motor now transmits its torque via the gear 14 the gear shaft 11 and thereby also on the worm wheel 15. This meshes in a gear 16 and rotates the eccentric 18. In the starting position of the rivet setting tool 1 are the axes of rotation of the axis 17, the eccentric 18 and the pin 22 in a line, the crank mechanism is at its rear dead center.
- the drive motor By applying current to the drive motor, it starts up, so that the crank mechanism moves from its rear dead center to its front dead center. Since the rivet setting device is designed such that it during this Initial movement of the crank mechanism performs an idle stroke, the drive motor start easily and can be brought up to speed without which is already subjected to tensile forces by the rivet setting device. If the crank mechanism has reached its front dead center, the drive motor begins a tensile force on the traction means 26 of the rivet setting device via the crank mechanism 4 5 apply. Due to this tensile force, a rivet setting process is now known Way performed. The rivet setting process is finished when the Crank drive again at its rear dead center, i.e. H. its starting position located. In Fig. 1 the rivet setting device is shown when the crank mechanism is at its front dead center, d. H. at the beginning of the setting stroke.
- a sensor detects the starting position, that is when the Crank mechanism is in its rear dead center and automatically interrupts the Power supply - when the actuator is no longer actuated - so that the crank mechanism is stopped at its rear dead center.
- the flywheel connected to the drive motor allows in particular a particularly large torque or a apply particularly great traction.
- the force occurring greatest. Due to the idle stroke on the way from The flywheel can adjust the rear dead center to the front dead center accordingly be brought up to speed.
- the flywheel's flywheel energy can Delay can be used to increase the forces at the beginning of the rivet setting stroke overcome.
- the flywheel can be decoupled again and independently of the electric motor keep turning. This enables the swing energy to be stored. This is particularly favorable in the continuous operation of the rivet setting tool, since that Flywheel supports the start of the engine and the application of the riveting forces can be. This can significantly reduce power consumption.
- the circuit 45 also ensures that before performing of each rivet setting process, the current tension of the rechargeable batteries compared with a predetermined minimum value becomes. As long as the voltage of the rechargeable batteries is above this minimum value it is still possible to carry out a complete rivet setting process. The voltage of the rechargeable batteries should be below these given If the value drops, no further riveting is carried out. This has the advantage that the voltage of the rechargeable batteries is not collapses during a rivet setting process and the rivet setting tool thereby is blocked. This constant comparison and monitoring of tension The rechargeable batteries are done automatically by the circuit. In this way, the capacity of the rechargeable batteries can be maximized use without the risk that it is during a rivet setting process to block the rivet setting tool due to insufficient voltage is coming.
- buttons 43.X there is also the possibility of maximum current consumption limit depending on the purpose of the rivet setting tool 1.
- display 44 e.g. an LCD display can be given a value that is characteristic of the specific application; e.g. B. this can be the diameter of the rivet pin 25.
- the key 43.2 or the key 43.3 is as long actuated until the corresponding value appears on the display 44; e.g. B. the 43.2 key can be used to display the display value 44 increase, i.e. if larger diameters are to be processed, and button 43.3 can be used to decrease the display value.
- the diameter sizes of the rivet pins are displayed in stages. So the next larger rivet pin diameter can be pressed by pressing button 43.1 once are displayed. Accordingly, by pressing the button 43.3 the next lower display value or rivet pin diameter is displayed become.
- the rivet setting device 1 can also be based on the Display 44 reads the current state of charge of the rechargeable batteries become.
