Definitions

  • the invention relates to a closure with a pressure compensation valve for the filling opening of a liquid container with a bung sleeve made of elastic material which fits into the filling opening and has a central opening, and with a manually rotatable valve member which assumes a sealing closing position and a pressure compensation position in the central opening which communicates the inside of the container with the environment.
  • Such a closure is known from DE 42 19 571 C2. It has a bung with alternately larger and smaller axial ventilation grooves on the wall of the central opening and a valve member with alternately larger and smaller axial ventilation ribs on the outer jacket.
  • the valve member has locking positions in which mating grooves and ribs are engaged and pressure compensation positions in which mating grooves and ribs are engaged.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a perfectly hygienic, easy and safe to use closure of the beginning to create mentioned type, which makes it possible to bring about a pressure compensation when the container is full.

This opens up the possibility of a gentle, gradual pressure equalization, and in particular a careful pressure release, for example, before the beer is tapped for the first time.
