Definitions

  • the invention relates to a connector with the features the preamble of claim 1.
  • Adapter plugs can used, for example, as an adapter or as a coupling-out link become.
  • connection lines arranged within the steering wheel securely with an associated port of one Coil spring housing must be connected.
  • this winding spring housing has a cover carrying the connection, which is rotatable relative to the rest of the housing and which is mechanically coupled to the rotatable steering wheel is.
  • the connection lines inside the steering wheel run in arranged in the steering wheel particularly important Safety devices such as car horn and Airbag. It must therefore be ensured that among all Permanent good contact between the Connections of the steering wheel and the connection to the lid of the Coil spring housing is guaranteed.
  • Such a connection can be made, for example, by solder connections. Such solder connections are cumbersome during the Steering wheel assembly process. It is therefore to strive for the connection between the connector on the Steering wheel and the coil spring housing by means of a Plug connection can be set up.
  • the intermediate part is naturally opposite the housing slidable. There is therefore a problem that the Intermediate part can dodge the connector before this definitely and unambiguously in its connection position to the Intermediate part has arrived. This is to ensure that a displacement of the intermediate part through the connector becomes possible when the plug is securely connected to the Intermediate part is electrically and mechanically connected.
  • US-A-5,376,014 shows a connector with the Features of the preamble of claim 1. A shift of the intermediate part takes place as soon as the plug in the associated socket is inserted.
  • the invention is therefore the Task to create a connector where it is ensured that a displacement of the intermediate part through the connector is only possible when the connector is securely connected to the intermediate part.
  • the principle of the invention is that Intermediate part during the plug-in process is blocked relative to the housing and thus the movement of the Connector cannot evade. This blocking movement is only canceled by the fact that the plug has reached a perfect location within the intermediate part. The movement of the plug inevitably controls the Blocking of the intermediate part or the termination of this Blockade. Only after the connector is properly Location within the intermediate part, it is possible the intermediate part within the housing in a defined to move the second location area. The assembly staff receives thus a clear indication that the plug reliable and in the switched state in the Middle part sits. This is done by the yielding movement of the intermediate part.
  • a particularly simple holding element is obtained from the Use of the combination of features according to claim 2. Thereafter is achieved by inserting the plug into the intermediate part a spreading lever spread, which ensures that even with greater effort, the intermediate part long held in the housing until the connector has reached the correct position in the intermediate part. It can the spreader arm is located on the housing, for example.
  • a special one simple design results when used the combination of features according to claim 3 Plug into a corresponding recess, so the Spreading arm in its blocking spread position. However, it must the effort required to spread the spreading arm is smaller be as the holding force of the intermediate part in the housing.
  • the arm can Spreader arm automatically ensure that the intermediate part does not escape into the housing, so that an additional Spreading of the spreader arm can take place, which is the intermediate part also against greater forces in the direction of insertion of the plug secures against the housing.
  • the intermediate part can be exerted on the connector Power can be fully transferred to the intermediate part.
  • This Power is sufficient to release the intermediate part from its snap connection to tear in the housing and this according to the combination of features according to claim 5 in a second defined position promote.
  • the intermediate part should be opposite Housing according to the combination of features mentioned have some freedom of movement. This will make eccentricity tolerances between steering wheel and clock spring cassette eliminates noise and unwanted force to avoid.
  • the advantage here is also that that striking movements and shaking movements of the steering wheel not directly on the electrical connection between Knock through the connector and the intermediate part, since that with the plug detent connected connector part in the housing in certain Senses can swim.
  • the intermediate part has a certain movement within of the housing and on the other hand this movement to limit the combination of features is recommended in further training according to claim 8.
  • the elastically pivotable Holding arm becomes the intermediate part within the second position area held so that the second holding arm an elastic limiting projection of this position area results.
  • the intermediate part from the second layer area convey back into the first latching connection to the housing can is that second locking connection between connector and intermediate part so chosen that it cannot come loose if the intermediate part is over the plug and against the locking force of the holding arm from the second position area pulled into the first locking connection becomes.
  • the upper stop position is not reached the upper spreader hook of the intermediate piece not open far enough to reveal the connector. This is independent of the frictional force.
  • Fig. 1 is a portion of a cover 1 of a coil spring housing (see also DE-OS 195 11 693).
  • This Lid is arranged symmetrically to the axis of rotation of the steering wheel and is mechanically operated with the Steering wheel connected.
  • the lid follows the rotation of the steering wheel, while the rest of the housing part of the clock spring housing rigidly arranged with respect to the vehicle chassis is.
  • Inside the coil spring housing is in a known manner a spiral band is arranged, which the electrical connection between the rotating steering wheel and the rigid one Housing of the clock spring creates, the clock spring housing again with fixed connections on the steering column switch of the vehicle can be electrically connected.
  • a connector housing is radially offset from the axis of rotation of the cover 1 2 integrally formed, which is the inclusion of a Intermediate part 3 serves.
  • the intermediate part has two or more locking fingers 4, which in the state shown in Fig. 1 in engage corresponding locking openings 5 in the housing 2.
  • the intermediate part 3 also has an insertion opening 6 on the one with electrical contacts provided connector 7 can be inserted cleanly.
  • At the Side wall 8 of the insertion opening 6 are two elastic Spreading arms are provided, which are cast onto the side wall 8 are elastic and around their attachment point on the side wall can be swung out.
  • the intermediate part 3 itself is with contacts, not shown provided which via flexible lines 8 (Fig. 6) with a connection point on the lid 1 electrically safe and are permanently connected. Furthermore, he owns the Steering wheel connected connector 7 connection contacts that over a Cable with electrical equipment in the not shown Steering wheel are connected.
  • Figure 1 One can imagine Figure 1 so that one with a steering wheel connected connector 7 arranged above the intermediate part 3 is so that by lowering the steering wheel the intermediate part of the plug 7 is inserted into the insertion opening 6 can be.
  • Fig. 2 the plug 7 is during this insertion movement shown in the insertion opening 6.
  • the side surfaces of the plug 7 in the insertion opening 6 swung back surfaces 9 after pivoted outside, so that the support lugs 10 of the spreading arms 11 protrudes beyond the contour of the side wall 12 of the housing 2.
  • the support lugs 10 block a possible movement of the intermediate part 3 into the housing. That is also so important because of the proper interlocking the plug contacts of the intermediate part 3, not shown and the connector 7 not inconsiderable forces are necessary.
  • Fig. 5 shows the intermediate part with his fingers 4 Area of the locking grooves 17 can move, but the plug 7 remains closely locked with the intermediate part 3.
  • the intermediate part 3 with locked plug is in "floating" area. This is to eliminate eccentricity tolerances between the steering wheel and the winding tape cassette necessary, otherwise the steering wheel can exert forces on the winding tape cassette exercise with the following dangers: noise (Scraping, scratching) or, in extreme cases, risk of breakage of the molded housing 2.
  • the mobility of the plug according to the invention ensures safe contacting also for tolerance compensation in the height direction between the steering wheel and the clock spring housing or clock spring cover.
  • the invention is is a connector that has a defined starting position offers (dimensionally), in which a plug over a leading guide easily finds it. When plugging together further becomes a safe electrical contact reached before the "floating" end position is achieved.
  • Opening the plug connection also leads again forcibly return to the defined starting position.
  • the invention assumes that a good electrical Contact between the electrical connections of the clock spring and the contacts of the intermediate part to the connector 7 exists, but not in the present drawing are shown.
  • the connection can, for example, by a flexible conductor strip 18, as shown in FIG. 6 is shown.
  • the contacts of the intermediate part are with the Lines of the conductor strip 18 are firmly connected, for example by soldering, crimping, by a plug connector or the like.
  • Another important aspect of the invention is that in 5 the spreading movement of the locking fingers 11 severely restricted by the inner walls 19 of the housing 2 is so that they stay in the locked position for so long how the locking fingers 11 in the area of the inner walls of the Housing 2 are. This also leaves the connector 7 compared to the intermediate part 3 in a release movement of the Plug 7 locked. It can thus from the plug 7 in Larger forces on the adapter 3 in the loosening direction of the plug that are able to the intermediate piece 3 in the first latching position according to FIG. 3 to pull, the pivot arm 15 being pivoted out by this force is so that the associated locking finger 4 pass can. After reaching the state shown in FIG. 3 remains the intermediate part 3 are locked. In the in Fig.
  • the spreading arms remain in the state they have reached long in their position locking the connector 7 until by the force exerted on the connector 7 in the release direction the spreading arms 11 pressed outwards by latching projections 20 and so the connector 7 with respect to the intermediate part 3rd release.
  • the plug 7 can now insert the opening 6 leave while 4.5 through the first locking connection the intermediate part 3 is held in the plug.
  • the electrical, not shown Disconnected between connector and intermediate part is also the electrical, not shown Disconnected between connector and intermediate part.
  • Fig. 6 shows the connector according to state 1 (Fig. 1) in Side view.
  • Guide grooves 22 are provided in the housing 2, which in connection with a guide bar 23 for ensure lateral guidance of the intermediate part in the housing 2.
  • Fig. 6 also shows a snapped into a locking opening 5 Lock finger 4.
