Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a packaging envelope for articles, said envelope being closed by means of at least one foil.
  • the invention also relates to the production of packaging closed by foil.
  • the invention relates to the field of packaging of confectionery products.
  • confectionery products are packaged individually in a portion of pre-printed film of one size and of suitable form, which individually wrapped products which can in turn be packaged in bulk in a sachet packaging of an appropriate size.
  • the article to first pack is completely wrapped in a serving of rectangular film and the envelope thus formed is closed by twists at two points located on either side of the article at wrap.
  • papillote means result of the closure by stranding of said envelope.
  • this problem manifests itself during packaging articles of small size and of substantially round cross section such as that confectionery products such as candies, lollipops, barley sugars, fruit jellies, chocolate bars or even larger products such as bottles, rolls of coins, ...
  • This solution increases the choice of substrate packaging, but is not yet entirely satisfactory insofar as it does not allow the selection of a substrate having low resistance to high temperatures and, more seriously, it is totally unsuitable for the packaging of heat sensitive articles, especially chocolate products.
  • Another flaw of this solution is the relatively low speed that it imposes it is, in effect, necessary to keep the papillotes and the element in contact heating for a sufficient time to obtain the fusion of sealing plaster.
  • packaging of 800 items per minute is the highest rate you can get with a packaging unit operating on the closing principle of wrap by stranding and heat sealing the foil as well formed.
  • document GB-A-1096058 offers a film with a cold sealing coating which, after closing the envelope by stranding the foil, has a excellent retention.
  • This cold sealing coating comes in form of two longitudinal bands located in the areas of formation of twists on both sides of the article to be wrapped.
  • cold sealing is meant a sealing which takes place instantly by simple contact at a temperature between 0 and 50 ° C approximately.
  • temperature is not a parameter critical of obtaining a seal with a coating of cold sealing and has practically no influence on the quality of the sealing obtained. We therefore carry out the sealing without a contribution of extra heat at room temperature the space in the what is the packaging unit is needed.
  • cold seal coatings have so far been especially used as a layer on a substrate which does not undergo or has little deformation. We can expect significant problems with blockage due to the self-adhesive properties of the sealant cold in any use of this cold sealing coating on a non-planar substrate.
  • This method therefore allows the use of cheaper films and with better properties (rigidity, propensity to printing, aesthetic qualities) for packaging articles without restrictions on the shape or sensitivity to heat of said articles.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a new packing of the cold sealing type of the papillote which presents all the known advantages of this type of packaging but which, in addition, allows an almost hermetic closure of the packaging.
  • Another purpose of the invention is to provide a new packaging method especially suitable for this type of packaging.
  • an envelope packaging made of a film and intended to be closed by less one foil comprising, on the inner side relative to the article to be packaged, a cold sealing coating arranged in two parallel longitudinal strips on either side of the article to package characterized in that the film has at least one strip additional transverse cold sealing plaster placed on along an edge of the film perpendicular to said strips longitudinal sealing plaster so that after stranding of the envelope, to close it in a direction parallel to the axis passing through the two twists.
  • the packaging is closed almost hermetically, which is very advantageous as regards the conservation of articles since it prevents the ingress of moisture, gas, air or other substances and, at the same time, keeps the aromas inside.
  • the film has two transverse strips of cold sealing plaster extending perpendicularly between the longitudinal strips along the edges opposites. In this way, when the article is placed on the film in view of the packaging, it is completely surrounded by sealing strips to cold.
  • the invention also provides a new packaging method of an article in a film comprising two longitudinal bands cold sealing plaster and at least one cross strip cold sealing plaster extending along an edge perpendicularly between the longitudinal strips according to which deposits the article on the film on the side of said strips, we note substantially vertically the two sides which are perpendicular to the longitudinal strips, we approach above of the article the two sides and we seal their edge, by pressure, one to the other, we fold the two edges thus sealed on the article and we strand the projections of the film exceeding on both sides the article for form two twists at the longitudinal strips.
  • the film has two longitudinal bands and two transverse bands, it is also possible to make a waterproof packaging with a single foil. Just place the item in the middle of the four strips, to raise the four sides of the film and strand them above the article to form the foil.
  • sealing plaster When preparing a roll of film for packaging including one sides are coated with sealing plaster, preferably applied at least partial non-stick coating of the film used, on the other side in order to avoid adhesion by contact between the face coated with sealing and the other side when winding.
  • sealing plaster preferably applied at least partial non-stick coating of the film used, on the other side in order to avoid adhesion by contact between the face coated with sealing and the other side when winding.
  • dry cold sealing coatings which, when used in conjunction with certain substrates such as polypropylene films do not require such a non-stick coating.
  • non-stick coatings which are conventionally applied to the back of the face of the film which carries the strips of cold sealing coating can be used within the framework of the present invention.
  • suitable non-stick coatings consist of mixtures of polyamide resins and polyethylene waxes (for example the products 10-609345-3p from the company SIEGWERK and 994404-x from the company SICPA).
  • these non-stick coatings are deposited on the substrate at a rate of 1 to 5 g / m 2 .
  • the portion of film coated with cold sealing coating intended for packaging envelope formation has coated areas 1 to 50 mm wide cold sealing plaster around the space reserved for the item to be packaged.
  • suitable substrates are plastic films of about 10 to 100 microns in extruded and oriented polypropylene, in polypropylene in the form of a cast film, polyester, polyethylene, in extruded and oriented polyamide or in polyamide under cast film form.
  • any carrier material or flexible packaging material may be suitable as a substrate for the present invention.
  • These different substrates can consist of a single layer, a single layer metallized or in several laminated and / or coextruded layers.
  • cold sealing coating does not present a criticality.
  • pressure sensitive adhesives which are substances which are permanently sticky and which adhere spontaneously on the surface of most materials under the effect with a simple moderate pressure.
  • pressure sensitive adhesives are compositions based on natural and / or synthetic rubbers associated with modified cellophanes, phenol-formaldehyde resins or hydrocarbon resins (waxes).
  • rubbers polymers based on styrene are widely used, (meth) acrylic acid or vinyl ether, alone or as a mixture, also in combination with resins.
  • silicone resins Preferably, compositions comprising mixtures of natural rubbers and synthetic and copolymers of (meth) acrylic acid and styrene.
  • the cold sealing coatings are deposited on the substrate at a rate of approximately 1 to 5 g / m 2 .
  • Cold sealing coatings can be applied as solution, dispersion or even in the molten state.
  • any coating compatible with the nature of the product to be packaged can be used. In general, these other coatings are also deposited on the substrate at a rate of approximately 1 to 5 g / m 2 .
  • the films according to the present invention are prepared according to plaster deposition techniques well known to those skilled in the art such as, for example, heliographic or flexographic printing or offset printing.
  • Figure 1 shows a strip of film generally indicated by the reference 10 which is coated with two longitudinal strips 12, 14 cold seal coating.
  • the items to be packaged are represented by dotted lines with the reference 16.
  • the film strip is to be cut along lines 18 to supply parts of film 20 identical to each other which play the role of envelope packaging for items 16.
  • Figures 2 show the different sequences of a conventional packaging process, Figures 2 being sections according to a plane perpendicular to the axis passing through the future papillotes.
  • the article to be packaged 16 is placed on a film 20 and the two sides with the cutting edges 18 of Figure 1 are raised vertically against article 16.
  • item 16 is off-center on film 20 so that one of the sections, in this case that indicated by A, is longer than the pan B, as shown in Figure 2a.
  • Figure 4 shows a packaging film 30 according to the present invention.
  • this film 30 also includes two longitudinal strips 12 and 14 of cold sealing plaster.
  • the film also comprises strips transverse 24 and 26 extending along the cutting edges perpendicularly between the longitudinal strips 12 and 14 on the side and on the other side the spaces reserved for the articles to be packaged 16.
  • the film 30 is cut from a roll, the structure of cold sealing plaster 34 located on the inner side.
  • the film 30 is then sectioned according to the cutting lines 18 passing through the middle of the transverse bands to form individual films 20.
  • Film 30 is particularly suitable for a process advantageous packaging proposed by the present invention and explained in more detail below with reference to Figures 5 to 9.
  • Article 16 is placed on a film 20 inside the plaster frame cold sealing and the two side panels are folded up, as as shown in Figures 5a and 6a.
  • article 16 is this time placed in the center of the film so that the two sides A and B have the perfect same length.
  • fold the two sides simultaneously on section 16 so that their inner edges with the strips transverse 24 and 26 are placed one against the other, as shown in Figure 5b.
  • This operation of folding sides A and B and sealing their edges can be performed in a single operation between the jaws of a press 28 (Figure 5b).
  • a sealing rib 32 is thus obtained which extends across the width, as shown in Figures 5c and 6b.
  • This rib is then folded and folded over the packaging according to the Figures 5d and 6c, preferably, exerting vertical pressure according to the Figure 11 to give the packaging an attractive presentation.
  • the packaging is finished by twisting the two ends in the direction of the folding of the rib 32 to form two twists.
  • Example 1 a non-stick coating (10-609345-3p from SIEGWERK) is deposited on a white oriented polypropylene film 30 microns thick at a rate of 1.5 g / m 2 .
  • Longitudinal strips of 15 mm width of cold sealing plaster (product 22-392 from the company CRODA) are deposited on the other side of the same film at a rate of 3 g / m 2 spaced 40 mm apart and perpendicular to the longitudinal strips, between these strips, parallel strips of 15 mm width of cold sealing plaster (product 22-392 from the company CRODA) at a rate of 3 g / m 2 , spaced 80 mm apart, with a length of 40 mm.
  • Example 2 use of the film for making packages closed with foils.
  • the packaging formed with the film of example 1 have the particularity of being completely sealed and waterproof.
