Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for electrostatic Surface discharge, especially for cleaning and dedusting of workpiece surfaces, and a device for Execution of the procedure.
- DE-OS 38 20 931 describes a method for electrostatic Surface discharge and dedusting from different Surfaces made of different materials known, by means of two ionization rods arranged in parallel in an ionization space two both positive and negative ions containing ion currents generated and this by means of an between air stream flowing towards them, at an angle of inclination directed to the surface of a workpiece to be dusted will be carried away, after the electrostatic Surface discharge the air with the dust particles contained in it is suctioned off.
- the device for performing this The method has a surface in the ionization space the two parallel ionizing bars and in between arranged flat jet nozzles carries, the surface opposite a horizontal surface in the direction of an adjacent suction channel is inclined around that emerging from the flat jet nozzle Airflow at an angle to the surface of a workpiece to be dusted or cleaned.
- DE-A-1 786 277 describes a further method for electrostatic Surface discharge and dedusting of workpieces known, in which with a first ionizing rod generates positive and negative ions and points to the Workpiece surface, then the dust particles with one in a Brush chamber arranged brush detached from the workpiece surface and into one in the brush chamber opening suction channel are promoted and suctioned, and in an area viewed in the feed direction of the workpiece Brush chamber with a second ionizing bar generates positive and negative ions and by means of an air jet exiting through holes in the brush chamber onto the dedusted Workpiece surface and a portion of the brush are guided.
- electrostatically bound particles and through the brush for example, hygroscopically or mechanically Bound particles effectively from the workpiece surface removed and fed to an extraction system, so that the gun is reduced so that it is not in get into the environment and possibly other workpieces can contaminate.
- the other is with the brush certain mechanical processing of the workpiece surface possible, for example if after a laminate coating of the Edge cleaning must be done on the workpiece.
- this object is achieved by a method in which with a first ionizing bar positive and negative Ions are generated and directed onto the workpiece surface, then the dust particles with at least one in one Brush chamber arranged brush from the workpiece surface detached and to a viewed in the feed direction of the workpiece in front of the brush in the brush chamber opening conveyed and suctioned off in one in the feed direction of the workpiece surface considered the following area Brush chamber by means of at least one through nozzles into the brush chamber emerging, preferably at an angle to the workpiece surface directed air jet an excess pressure is generated, and with a second ionizing bar positive and negative ions generated and on the dusted workpiece surface and at least a portion of the brush can be directed.
- a Preionization is carried out, which is the electrostatically charged and contaminated surface of the workpiece on its entire surface Width discharges and the electrostatic binding forces between dust particles and surface. Below you can then the electrostatically discharged, but under certain circumstances still mechanically or hygroscopically bound particles with the Brush detached from the workpiece surface and to the suction channel transported and suctioned.
- the downstream, second ionization rod carries out postionization, the continuous discharge of the brush and the workpiece surface causes so that no further contamination of the workpiece surface after cleaning and dust removal can.
- the air jet hits the Workpiece surface, it is an advantage if according to a preferred embodiment the air jet at an angle to the feed direction of the workpiece is directed towards the workpiece surface and the brush and the bristles in the contact area to the workpiece against the feed direction bends so that the bristles compact in this area become. This firstly cleans the bristles of possibly still adhering residual particles, on the other is due to the compression of the bristles caused by the air jet squeezed together, a more intense and therefore more effective Cleaning of the workpiece surface possible.
- part of the air supplied by the air jet between the brush and the upper limit of the brush chamber is led to the suction channel. This reliably prevents that particles detached from the workpiece surface instead to be directed into the suction channel through this space get out of the device and into the environment.
- the brush can be of any design, provided that an effective detachment of particles from the workpiece surface allows, it is an advantage if the dust particles by a rotating brush from the workpiece surface be replaced. This can be done by a corresponding Drive the brush the relative movement between the brush and the workpiece surface can be increased, resulting in a significant contributes to an improved cleaning effect. On the other hand by an opposite to the feed direction of the workpiece rotating brush a targeted promotion of the detached particles to the suction channel.
- a rotating brush is especially useful for cleaning flat surfaces Suitable workpiece surfaces.
- By adjusting the rotating Brush in height can also be uneven Effectively clean workpiece surfaces so that according to an advantageous Embodiment the brush for cleaning wells and increases in height at least in some areas becomes.
- the air jet can be generated with any nozzle if an adequate air supply is possible, it is an advantage if the air jet is by means of flat jet nozzles is produced. This can be done in a simple manner realize a sharp air flow, with which advantageously then simply creates an air shield and moreover expediently the ions of the second ionization rod to the contact area can be guided by brush and workpiece. To the one is, as described above, the leakage of detached Prevents particles from the device, and secondly is the continuous discharge of the brush and the material surface improved during post-ionization.
- the inventive device for performing the described Method has at least one in a brush chamber arranged brush for brushing the workpiece surface, a first ionizing bar to generate positive and negative Ions in the feed direction of the unloaded and cleaned
- the workpiece viewed in front of the brush chamber is, at least one suction channel opening into the brush chamber for suction of the detached from the workpiece surface Particles, the suction channel in the feed direction of the workpiece considered before the brush opens into the brush chamber, at least a nozzle arranged after the brush for supplying a Air jet into an area of the brush chamber arranged after the brush, creating an overpressure, and one after the nozzle arranged second ionization rod for generating positive and negative ions.
- the first ionization rod for pre-ionization in front of the brush chamber is what is to be unloaded and dusted Unload the workpiece before entering the brush chamber. This creates the electrostatic binding forces between particles and surface of the workpiece.
- the after the Brush arranged nozzle for supplying an air jet into the Brush chamber causes an overpressure to be generated there and consequently an air shield is created, which has the exit prevented from detached particles from the device.
- the finally arranged second ionization rod for Finally, post-ionization causes a continuous Discharge of the brush and the material surface, so that after the dedusting and cleaning of the workpiece surface no further pollution from static charges can.
- the brush can be of any design, provided that it a reliable detachment of mechanical or hygroscopically bound particles from the workpiece surface allows.
- the brush is advantageously a rotating one Roll brush designed because it is the workpiece surface can be brushed continuously, resulting in a clear leads to an improved cleaning effect.
- the relative movement between brush and Workpiece surface area can be increased, which also leads to an improved Cleaning effect contributes.
- too through an advantageous rotation of the brush against the feed direction of the workpiece to be dusted and cleaned the supply of the detached particles to the suction channel and thus their effective suction further increased significantly.
- the brush is adjustable in height trained so that, on the one hand, wear of the Brush can be balanced, and secondly an adjustment to a deepening or raising of the workpiece surface is possible. It is safe and reliable Cleaning the workpiece surface even on an uneven workpiece surface and possible after a long period of operation.
- the brush can be formed in one piece, which is particularly in the With regard to mounting the brush offers advantages.
- the brush is composed of segments, so that the a working width easily in the manner of a modular system the device can be realized.
- a brush segments with different bristle materials or bristle densities are used so that an adjustment to a workpiece surface is possible, the different areas having. For example, when cleaning a Card that has a magnetic stripe in this area Brush segment with soft bristle material, so as not to damage the sensitive magnetic stripe. moreover If the brush is worn unevenly, the respective individual elements can be replaced without the same to replace the whole brush.
- the mouth of the suction channel is accompanied by an air flow a high airspeed created that the detached Conducts particles safely and reliably into the suction channel.
- the outer lip is the outer lip with a small distance arranged adjacent to the workpiece surface, while the inner Lip is offset in height.
- the nozzle is advantageously designed as a flat jet nozzle, because it simply creates a sharp air flow and thus an air shield can be created which will replace the exit Particles effectively prevented from the device.
- the flat jet nozzle is so contrary to the Feed direction of the workpiece arranged inclined that the Airflow both on the workpiece surface and on at least the area of contact of the brush with the workpiece surface is directed. On the one hand, this makes both post-ionization the workpiece surface and the brush improved because the Ions can then be better distributed in this area.
- the bristles in the contact area of the brush with the Workpiece surface bent and compressed, so that the cleaning effect the brush is significantly improved here.
- a housing is advantageously made for the device Continuous cast aluminum profile is used because this is easy with the necessary recesses is to be made. You can also through the use of a housing made of extruded aluminum Devices in any dimensions and therefore optimal can be produced adapted to the respective application.
- the housing advantageously has an outer surface Number of grooves, which are preferably designed as T-grooves are so that the device can be easily and securely attached can.

- the device 1 described here for electrostatic surface discharge and dust removal from workpieces works like follows.
- a workpiece 29 with electrostatic and / or mechanical or hygroscopically bound particles 43 becomes the device 1 fed in the direction of arrow 31.
- the one on the inlet side of the housing 1 arranged pre-ionization 39 conducts positive and negative ions on the surface of the workpiece 29 and lifts thus the electrostatic binding forces between particles 43 and surface of the workpiece 29.
- the electrostatically discharged Workpiece 29 then continues into the brush chamber 5, where the electrostatically discharged, but possibly still mechanically or hygroscopic on the surface of the workpiece 29 adhering particles 43 by means of the roller brush 17, which rotates against the feed direction 31, from the surface of the Workpiece 29 loosened and transported to the lip channel 33.
- After brushing through the brush 17 passes the workpiece 29 to the rear area of the Brush chamber 5, where the post ionization 27 is arranged. This also generates positive and negative ions and causes one continuous discharge of both the surface of the workpiece 29 and the brush 17.
- the brush chamber 5 In this area of the brush chamber 5 also opens the flat jet nozzle 21 which an air flow 23 on the Surface of the workpiece 29 against its feed direction 31 and aimed at the brush 17. In this way, on the one hand creates an air shield that prevents detached particles 43 pass past ionization 27 from housing 3 can.
- the brush chamber 5 In this area the brush chamber 5 generates an overpressure so that the air between the Roller brush 17 and the upper limit 45 of the brush chamber 5 flows to the groove channel 33 and reaches the suction channel 7, so that no particles 43 emerge from the housing 3 in this way can.
- the bristles are caused by the air jet 23 the brush 17 bent in the direction of rotation, so that the Bristles of the brush 17 compacted in the contact area with the workpiece 29 are and better cleaning the surface of the Workpiece 29 cause.
- Fig. 2 the device 1 of Fig. 1 with the brush lowered 17 shown in section. It can be a new one here detailed description of the device 1 can be dispensed with, since here the difference to Fig. 1 is only in the lowered Brush roller 17 exists.
