Definitions
- the invention relates to a clockwork according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a clockwork is known, the spring via a gear train a time display and an alternating voltage supplying generator drives.
- the generator feeds a voltage converter circuit, the voltage converter circuit feeds a capacitive component, and the capacitive component feeds an electronic reference circuit with a stable oscillator and an electronic control circuit.
- the electronic control circuit has a comparator logic circuit and one with an output of the comparator logic circuit connected and through the comparator logic circuit controllable energy dissipation circuit in its power consumption on.
- One input of the comparator logic circuit is with the electronic reference circuit and another Input of the comparator logic circuit with the generator via a comparator stage and an auto-coincidence circuit connected.
- the comparator logic circuit is designed that it comes from the electronic reference circuit Clock signal with a clock signal originating from the generator compares the, depending on the result of this comparison Size of the power consumption of the electronic control circuit about the size of the power consumption of the energy dissipation circuit controls and in this way by controlling the Control circuit power consumption the generator and gear so that regulates the course of the time display.
- the power consumption of the energy dissipation circuit in the clockwork known from CH-597 636 is by the comparator logic circuit according to CH-597 636 only in controllable in two stages.
- the power consumption of the energy dissipation circuit according to CH-597 636 is namely either maximum or zero. That means the generator either can only be braked at maximum strength or not at all can. This results in considerable control vibrations at the Gear control of the clockwork. In this way there is a relatively poor energy efficiency of the clockwork.
- the voltage converter circuit according to CH-597 636 is a rectifier.
- diodes such as those from the GB-A-2,158,274, EP-A-0,326,312, US-A-4,653,931, EP-A-0,467,667, EP-A-0,326,313, EP-A-0,309,164 and EP-A-0,241,219 is known.
- Diodes are passive components. The Using diodes as rectifiers throughout The running time of a clockwork is impaired due to the diode threshold voltage the energy efficiency of the movement.
- the spring of which via a gear train Time display and driving a generator is a problem in that only a limited amount of energy is stored in the spring can be.
- the required drive power is made up of the mechanical drive power for the clockwork, the friction power and the electrical power of the generator.
- the electrical Power output of the generator is determined by the Power consumption of an energy connected to the generator consuming electronic circuit. It must also be taken into account that the friction power of the generator in a direct Relation to that induced by the generator There is tension. A rough estimate is that the mass of a generator rotor, the higher the induced voltage.
- a relatively high moment of inertia of the rotor is compared to a relatively small moment of inertia disadvantageous. If the rotor is e.g. by one blow stopped, it runs at a relatively large mass moment of inertia back on more slowly than a relatively small one Moment of inertia. If the rotor has a relatively large moment of inertia, so it takes longer for it to reach its rated speed reached again.
- the invention has for its object a clockwork provide, the spring on a gear train a time display and an alternating voltage generator drives and that in an energetically particularly favorable manner can be operated.
- the energetically particularly favorable effect of the invention Clockwork according to claim 1 results from the fact that at least one passive component at least temporarily an active unit with a smaller in the forward direction electrical resistance is replaced, this way the Reduce voltage losses and thus efficiency increases.
- the clockwork according to the invention according to claim 3 is the power consumption of the electronic control circuit in a predetermined size range even substantially continuously controllable. This is in accordance with the clockwork the CH-597 636 significant reduction in control vibrations and related significant improvement in energetic Efficiency of the clockwork given.
- this is passive component is a diode and the associated active component a switch controlled by a comparator. Voltage losses across the switch are at least one Order of magnitude less than voltage losses across the diode.
- 26 and 27 become transistor structures in a double function used as a diode and transistor. This is circuitry particularly cheap and saves space.
- circuit structure according to claims 32 and 33 as an IC, it is special in terms of circuitry and manufacturing technology advantageous and also space-saving.
- FIG. 1 an electronic part of a clockwork according to the invention is shown as a block diagram.
- a generator 1 supplying an alternating voltage is connected via a gear train (not shown) to a spring (also not shown).
- the spring drives the generator 1 and a time display, not shown.
- the nominal frequency of the alternating voltage of the generator 1 is advantageously 2 n Hz, where n is a natural number other than zero.
- the mechanical part of the clockwork according to the invention is state of the art. In this regard, reference is made to CH-597 636.
- the generator 1 feeds a voltage converter circuit 2.
- the voltage converter circuit 2 feeds a first capacitive Component 10.
- the first capacitive component 10 feeds one electronic reference circuit 3, 4, 5 with a stable Oscillator 3, 4 and an electronic control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9.
- the stable oscillator 3, 4 has a quartz crystal 4, whose vibration defines a reference frequency.
- the voltage converter circuit 2, the electronic control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9 and the electronic reference circuit 3, 5 with Except for quartz crystal 4 and with the exception of all in the mentioned circuits of existing capacitive components are constructed as an IC 11. In another embodiment are even the capacitive components in the IC 11 integrated.
- the electronic control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9 has one Comparator logic circuit 6, one input of which electronic reference circuit 3, 4, 5 and their others Input via a device that detects the zero crossing of the AC voltage Comparator stage 7 and an anti-coincidence circuit 8 with the generator 1 is connected.
- the anti-coincidence circuit 8 is essentially a cache that is a simultaneous Incoming pulses on both inputs of the comparator logic circuit 6 prevented.
- the electronic Control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9 one with an output of Comparator logic circuit 6 connected and through the comparator logic circuit 6 controllable in their power consumption Energy dissipation circuit 9.
- the energy dissipation circuit 9 is of a variety same ohmic resistances built up. The size of one ohmic resistance is compared to the size of the resistance, which results if all existing ohmic Resistors are connected in series, small.
- the comparator logic circuit 6 controls the power consumption of the energy dissipation circuit 9 by adding a number of in the Current path switched ohmic resistances changed. On this way the power consumption is electronic Control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9 in one by the number of resistors predetermined size range essentially continuously controllable.
- the comparator logic circuit 6 compares one of the electronic reference circuit 3, 4, 5 incoming clock signal with a clock signal originating from generator 1. Dependent on the comparator logic circuit controls the result of this comparison 6 the size of the power consumption of the electronic Control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9 on the size of the power consumption the energy dissipation circuit 9. On this Wise is about controlling the control circuit power consumption the gear of the generator 1 and thus the gear of the time display regulated.
- the control is designed so that the gear the time display in the desired manner with that of the quartz crystal 4 supplied reference frequency is synchronized.
- the comparator logic circuit 6 has a counter, whose counter reading a gear difference between the generator 1 and the electronic reference circuit 3, 4, 5 corresponds.
- the power consumption of the energy dissipation circuit 9 is controlled depending on the meter reading of the meter. Depending on the status of the meter is in the energy dissipation circuit 9 more or less energy dissipates and thus the generator 1 more or less burdened.
- Each counter reading is one predetermined effective resistance combination in the energy dissipation circuit 9 assigned. That means that Comparator logic circuit 6 depending on the counter reading the ohmic in the energy dissipation circuit 9 Resistors individually and in different combinations in the Turn on the active rung or out of the active rung can switch out. It goes without saying that Case provided that at one or more meter readings none of the ohmic resistances mentioned in the active current path is switched.
- the control is limited, however, in that Reaching a certain maximum level of the counter Counting of generator pulses is interrupted. This is especially necessary to ensure a smooth start-up for everyone to ensure electronic components of the movement in the event that the spring after a complete standstill the movement is wound up for the first time.
- a similar Effect is achieved if the comparator logic circuit 6 and the energy dissipation circuit 9 matches one another, that the power consumption of the energy dissipation circuit 9 for a predetermined payer range (e.g. 0 to 16) is kept to a minimum and is exceeded when it is exceeded of the predetermined counter range linearly proportional to Meter reading changes.
- the clockwork also has a device, not shown to display the power reserve depending on the meter reading on.
- the power reserve is displayed using a LCD.
- the electronic reference circuit 3, 4, 5 has one between the stable oscillator 3, 4 and the connection to the electronic control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9 switched frequency divider circuit 5 on. This divides that from quartz crystal 4 delivered reference frequency in a defined way to a enable easier synchronization of the time display.
- the Voltage converter circuit 2 both a rectifier function as well as a voltage tripler function.
- first switch 19 is parallel to the first diode 14, but in Row with generator 1 and row with the first capacitive Component 10 switched.
- the first switch 19 will actively controlled by a first comparator 21.
- the voltage converter circuit also has a voltage triplet circuit 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23 on, on the input side to generator 1 and on the load side the first capacitive component 10 and to the parallel connection the first diode 14 and the first switch 19 coupled is.
- a load-side connection of the voltage triple circuit 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23 opens together with the connection of the first which faces away from the first diode 14 capacitive component 10 in a ground node 22.
- the first comparator 21 compares the electrical potential at the connection of the first capacitive component 10 with the electrical potential of the load side not at ground potential Connection of the voltage tripler circuit 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23.
- the first switch 19 is by the first comparator 21 only closed when the voltage of the first capacitive component 10 for operating the first Comparator 21 is sufficient and the electrical potential at the earth-free load-side connection of the voltage triple circuit 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23 for further charging of the first capacitive component 10 is high enough.
- the first switch 19 is a first field effect transistor and switched so that in its locked state part its structure acts as the first diode 14.
- the spring, the gear train, the generator 1, the voltage converter circuit 2 and the electronic control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9 are designed so that the generator 1 immediately after a start of the clockwork until the time of charging of the first capacitive component 10 to the predetermined one Value operates at a speed that is greater than the target speed of the generator 1. This is done first Charging the first capacitive component 10 via the first Diode 14.
- the voltage value of the first capacitive component 10 that for operating the first comparator 21 and for operating one in the voltage triplet circuit 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23 existing and explained in more detail below second comparator 20 is sufficient in this embodiment 0.6 V.
- the voltage drop across the first diode 14 is 400 mV.
- the first comparator 21 closes as soon as that of the voltage triplet circuit 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23 delivered voltage is higher than the voltage of the first capacitive component 10, the first switch 19, i.e. he opens the first field effect transistor.
- the voltage drop over the channel of the first field effect transistor however only 10 mV.
- the loss of voltage is thus significantly reduced.
- the first comparator 21 closes the first field effect transistor. If the voltage tripler circuit 12 increases, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23 again a sufficiently large value, the first comparator 21 opens the first field effect transistor again and so on. The The first capacitive component 10 is thus charged only in the start-up phase of the movement over those with a high Voltage loss in the first diode 14.
- the first capacitive component 10 is only loaded through the channel of the first field effect transistor what energetically much cheaper than a store over the first Diode 14 is. In this way, the energy reserve of the Movement used more economically and the power reserve increased.
- the voltage converter circuit 2 in addition to its rectifier function, also one Voltage multiplier function must do what the already said voltage multiplier circuit 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23 serves.
- the Voltage multiplier circuit 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23 a voltage triplet circuit. 2 to 4 are three different embodiments of the voltage triplet circuit shown.
- a first embodiment of the voltage triplet circuit (see Fig. 2) also has a parallel connection a second diode 12 and a second switch 17 and a parallel connection of a third diode 23 and a third switch 18 on.
- the parallel connection of the second diode 12 and second switch 17 is in series between the generator-side connection of the second capacitive Component 15 and the load-side connection of the third capacitive component 16 switched.
- the parallel connection the third diode 23 and the third switch 18 is in series between the generator-side connection of the third capacitive Component 16 and the load-side connection of the second capacitive component 15 switched.
- the one above briefly mentioned second comparator 20 controls both the second as well as the third switch 17, 18.
- the first embodiment the voltage triplet circuit also has an in Row between the load side connections of the second and third capacitive component 15, 16 switched fourth Diode 13 on.
- the second, third and fourth diodes 12, 23, 13 are switched in the same forward direction, and the first Diode 14 is switched in the opposite forward direction.
- the second comparator 20 compares the electrical Potential at the with the second capacitive component 15 connected connection of the generator 1 with the electrical Potential at the load-side connection of the third capacitive Component 16.
- the second and / or third switch 17, 18th is closed by the second comparator 20 only when the voltage of the first capacitive component 10 to Operation of the second comparator 20 is sufficient and that of Generator 1 provided electrical potential for Charging the second or the third capacitive component 15, 16 is high enough.
- the second switch 17 is a second field effect transistor
- the third switch 18 is a third field effect transistor.
- the second field effect transistor is switched so that in its locked state part of its structure as second diode 12 acts.
- the third field effect transistor is like this switched that part of its in its locked state Structure acts as a third diode 23.
- the second field effect transistor and the third field effect transistor first blocked. Charging the second capacitive component 15 and the third capacitive component 16 takes place via the second, third and fourth diodes 12, 23, 13. Once the voltage of the first capacitive component 10 a minimum value of 0.8 V and that supplied by generator 1 Voltage is higher than the voltage of the third capacitive Component 16, the second comparator 20 opens the second Field effect transistor and the third field effect transistor. The Charging the second and third capacitive components 15, 16 now takes place via the second field effect transistor and the third field effect transistor. The reduction in voltage losses is analogous to the reduction in Voltage loss in the transition from the first diode 14 to first field effect transistor.
- FIG. 3 shows a second embodiment of the voltage triplet circuit shown, in contrast to first embodiment of the voltage triplet circuit of the fourth diode 13 containing circuit branch is missing. Since the fourth diode 13 for the functioning of the voltage triplet circuit is not absolutely necessary, also guarantees the second embodiment of the voltage triplet circuit reliable operation of the voltage converter circuit 2. Of course, the existing diodes must be used always dimensioned to the current circuit environment be suitably adapted. The same applies to the in 4 shows a third embodiment of the voltage tripler circuit, which only the circuit branch with the fourth diode 13, but not the circuit branches with the second diode 12 and the third diode 23.
- the voltage converter circuit 2 and the electronic Control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9 are matched such that the Power consumption of the energy dissipation circuit 9 a Assumes minimum value during any of the capacitive devices 10, 15, 16 is loaded.
- the voltage converter circuit 2 and the electronic control circuit 6, 7, 8, 9 are designed such that the power consumption of the energy dissipation circuit 9 at intervals of 3 x 10 -2 s regularly takes a minimum value for 5 x 10 -4 s, around the comparators 20 , 21 to enable a potential comparison according to their function. If the potential comparison were carried out with a generator load that is above the minimum load of the generator 1, the comparators 20, 21 would come to incorrect conclusions with regard to the charging options of the capacitive components 10, 15, 16, because they would be one compared to the generator voltage at a minimum load detect reduced generator voltage.
