Definitions
- the present invention relates to a container for beverages under pressure a cylindrical sheet metal jacket with protective coverings made of rubber or other elastic material, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Containers of this type for pressurized drinks are known and have been used since Decades for the delivery of beer and other well-known gassed Drinks used These containers are with a connector or a connection valve in the cover, on which the nozzle of the Counter in the bar, etc., is connected. It is known from practice that the two ends of the cylindrical container with a cladding of round Shape and suitably profiled cross section made of rubber or other be provided with elastic material to perform a variety of functions to have. Above all, they have to protect the container against damage, by hitting the containers against each other during transportation caused. Furthermore, the noises during charging and unloaded. A very important function of the rubber cladding is then the reinforcement of the container so that it can be manipulated are more resistant.
- DE-A-3913643 shows a container for drinks, which has an inner cylindrical Sheath made of metal of round cross-section, which on its whole outer surface is covered with a thick rubber layer.
- the exterior The cladding indicates improved mechanical resistance and also for easier transportation and stacking polygonal cross-section, or a rectangular or preferably square Form on, whose edges with ribs in the form of when standing upright Containers have vertical columns.
- the present invention has the object, the disadvantages of the known Turn off containers for drinks under pressure and a new type of container to propose all of the deformability requirements mentioned above able to fulfill and at the same time inexpensively and in the Handling are safe and convenient.
- an annular element in at least one of the Protective coverings - usually the one on the bottom of the Container provided intended cladding - which is completely in the protective cladding is embedded and their properties against deformation under excessive local loads to which the cladding e.g. in the event of the container falling onto the one protected by the paneling Edge is exposed, are selected so that the stresses over a larger area of the container can be distributed so that it can withstand the stresses can withstand permanent deformation.
- the stresses transferred to areas of the container shell, which by the zone affected by the stress, so that the stresses be damped to such an extent that they have no permanent deformation of the cylindrical container shell can result more.
- This reinforcing effect of the metal wall of the container is further increased, if according to another proposed in claims 5 and 6 preferred embodiment of the invention the jacket of the container where the annular element is arranged, one or more circular ones Indentations, i.e. one or more annular reinforcing ribs has, which are arranged in a plane perpendicular to the container axis.
- a circular rib of this type reinforces the metal jacket of the container itself and thus further contributes to the reinforcing effect resulting from the arrangement of the annular element according to the invention results.
- annular element that of a full body of approximately circular cross-section, which is made of very soft Material consists, for example, of foamed, sponge-like material.
- a "soft" element of this type does not contribute so much to the mechanical one Increase the resistance of the container, but gives a Distribution of stress over a larger area of the container thanks to the damping effect due to the arrangement of such an element, an effect that corresponds exactly to the purpose of the present invention.
- This is another variant of the embodiment a practical solution based on other principles works as that of the solutions according to claims 2 to 4, however allowed to achieve the same benefits.
- the one represents further improvement of the proposal according to claim 7, and is the subject of claim 8, the annular element of an air chamber formed as a cushion against the stress works.
- the consequent continuation of the sponge-like element according to claim 7 are considered can, does not increase the mechanical resistance of the Edge of the container, but only the greatest possible damping stresses due to their distribution thanks to all Expandable air chamber on the entire circumference of the element and hence the protective covering.
- rings provide annular elements made of metal from other plastic materials, which have high mechanical strength, such as hard plastic material.
- a final preferred embodiment of the present invention which is to the embodiments according to those proposed in claims 2 or 10 Provides examples that provides that the annular element the outer wall of the container shell before the protective casing made of rubber or other elastic material by spraying becomes.
- Fig. 1 is an overall view of a container 1 for drinks below Pressure shown, which comprises a jacket made of thin, stainless steel sheet, of a wall thickness on the order of a few tenths of a millimeter up to about a millimeter, which consists of a cylindrical part 3 of circular cross section and a cover 4 and a bottom 5.
- the lid 4 and the bottom 5 are welded to the cylindrical part 3 and thus form a single piece with this.
- a connection piece 6 with a valve (not shown) for filling the container with the liquid, for pressurizing the container and for the Connection of the dispensing hose for the liquid.
- the two end parts of the container i.e. the lid 4 and the bottom 5 are with a protective covering, 7 in the upper part and 7 in the lower part are designated by 8.
- the two protective covers 7 and 8 are not trained exactly the same, because they sometimes have different requirements have to suffice. Both have, as in the prior art It has been known for decades to have an annular shape and cover in front all the edges of the container, i.e. the circular zones in which the Lid 4 or the bottom 5 connected to the cylindrical part 3 of the jacket 2 are. These zones are at risk of damage during transportation most exposed and therefore covered with fairings, which offer them protection and, as already mentioned, the Reduce noise and improve the stackability of the containers, etc.
- the ring-shaped covers vulcanized onto the surfaces of the container have elongated shape and are profiled to the desired To achieve results.
- the upper panel 7 usually has one continuous ring 9 on, in its connecting zone with the container 1 is connected via some more or less wide tabs 10 in such a way that Spaces between the tabs remain free, the handles 12 to Carry around and manipulate.
- the top of the continuous Rings 9 is on a higher level than the connector 6 to the latter during manipulation and especially during stacking the container 1 to provide protection.
- the lower panel 7 has a circular ring, which forms a shelf 11 of the container. This base provides the container with a stable shelf.
- the largest outer diameters of the linings 7 and 8 are known larger than that of the cylindrical part 3 of the container shell 2. This Diameter difference in the order of magnitude of one centimeter causes that the containers, e.g. stand on a bed, just in the zones covered by the elastic protective cladding constantly against each other bump, so that the bumps are damped, with which the container 1 are protected from damage and do not cause noise.
- the protective covers 7 and 8 are made of rubber or other elastic materials such as polyurethane or the like Plastics. The selection of those that are sufficiently elastic, but also sufficient hard and abrasion-resistant as well as mechanically resistant to loads must be part of the skills of every professional and today is not part of the present invention.
- the present invention now provides that in at least one of the two Protective coverings 7, 8, preferably in the lower cover 8, an annular element is inserted into the upper protective cover 7 with 13 and in the lower protective cover 8 with 14.
- ring-shaped elements are made of rings Metal with a suitable full cross-section is provided, which is directly on the corresponding curved areas of the cover 4 or the base 5 support and are fully embedded in the protective cladding 7 or 8.
- elements 13, 14 only requires their properties in terms of resistance to deformation as a result of excessive local stresses on the cladding 7, 8 is suspended, should be such that the stresses be distributed over an area of the container 1 which is larger than that on which the excessive stress acts.
- the element 13, 14 must ensure a distribution effect, of the forces exerted on the container 1, for example by a Bump (due to a fall on an edge, etc.) on a larger one Distributed area of the container, being under a "larger area” Part of the circumference of the container is to be understood along which the element is arranged.
- this area can even cover the whole Extend circumference of the container 1, but with respect to the inventive Effects by means of which the desired reinforcing effect of the Protective covering 7, 8 is reached, it is sufficient if this distribution of forces over a range of a few centimeters on either side of the Extends from the place where the external stress acts.
- Such Distribution of the forces reduces the local specific surface pressure, which acts on the material of the jacket 2, and causes the so reduced Forces or stresses are no longer able to cause permanent deformation of the shell 2 of the container 1.
- the tube 15 has a circular cross-section an outer diameter from 10 to 20 mm and a wall thickness between 0.5 and 2.5 mm on. These dimensions are optimal for applications of the present Invention in common containers for beer or for gassed beverages.
- the metal jacket 2 has two circular indentations 18 and 19 which in parallel to each other and perpendicular to the axis a - a of the container Layers lie in one of which (designated 18 in the example shown) the annular element is arranged in the example shown shows the shape of a tube 15 with a circular cross section.
- the annular element is arranged in the example shown shows the shape of a tube 15 with a circular cross section.
- the arrangement of another annular element a suitable corresponding to the second annular recess 19 Shape nothing in the way.
- the advantages of this solution are the same as those in the Fig. 4 arrangement shown, but act thanks to the arrangement of two Indentations even more intense, which reinforce the even greater Edge of the container 1 result.
- the annular member is made of one full body 20 of approximately circular cross-section formed from very soft material, for example sponge-like material.
- This embodiment works on a principle that is different from the functional principle the previously shown embodiments, which is based on the use of rigid ring-shaped elements that support the stresses of the jacket 2 of the container 1 thanks to the direct transmission distribute the forces in contact.
- the embodiment shown here works with a compliant annular element that is under local deformation in its interior builds up pressure - partly mechanical and partly pneumatic pressure because of the air contained in the element - which affects the adjacent Parts of the element itself and thus also on the metal jacket 2 of the container 1 transmits.
- the annular element according to this embodiment thus fulfills the basic postulate according to the invention that to distribute the stresses over a larger area of the container 1 are, and is therefore within the scope of the present invention.
- the annular element is then made from an air chamber 21, which is a damping cushion for the stresses forms.
- an air chamber 21 which is a damping cushion for the stresses forms.
- the soft and spongy full body is replaced by an empty air chamber.
- the distribution of the stresses on the jacket 2 on a purely pneumatic Process i.e. the distribution takes place thanks to the local compression the air chamber 21, which causes an increase in pressure inside, the continues over the entire circumference of the chamber, ie also over the whole circular circumference of the shell 2 of the container 1.
- annular element 13, 14; 15; 20; 21 from a ring the not made of metal (corresponding to those shown in Figures 2, 3, 4 or 5 Solutions) but from a material with high mechanical resistance consists, for example, of hard plastic.
- the latter embodiment corresponds in general to those described in claims 2 to 6 are described and claimed, the only difference in it there is that the metal is replaced by a hard plastic material. It is clearly evident that the dimensions of the annular element made of hard plastic, the resistance properties of the selected material are to be adjusted.
