- Pans of this type are from practice in iron and steel works and in steelmaking well known. For example, they are used to make molten steel after tapping a blast furnace or from a converter and to the next processing step. It is pot-like Vessels with a steel jacket, which is lined on the inside with an inner lining is that extends just below the edge of the pan. The upper edge of the pan is made from essentially horizontally arranged segment plates made of steel, which the upper Limit the face of the inner lining.
- the invention further relates to a curb for a metallurgical ladle.
- a curb for a metallurgical ladle Such a Curb and the above-mentioned pan are described in US 4,886,247.
- the invention is based on the technical problem of a pan with the longest possible To create life, in particular the edge of the pan is long-term resistant and the pan is easy to repair.
- the pan edge stone forms a protective cover over the sensitive pan edge, see above that the hot cast material does not directly attack the edge of the pan when pouring.
- the Pan edge stone provides thermal protection over the edge of the pan.
- the pan rim is better protected against softening.
- the pan edge physically separated from the casting material when pouring. Amazingly this overlapping pan edge stone can easily be adapted to the respective pan edge shape be adjusted.
- the pan edge stone can be made of heat-resistant, fireproof material exist, which is preferably supported on the stable pan edge or the pan wall.
- the pans according to the invention have and are considerably longer lifetimes less in need of repair. If the curb is damaged or worn Several pan trips can be easily repaired or replaced.
- the pan edge stone can preferably completely cover the end face of the pan edge. This is the edge of the pan on the forehead area, which is mainly when pouring is poured over by the casting material, protected. Residues, e.g. Drops in this area is usually left in contact with the less sensitive Curb so that the pan edge is not dirty or attacked by it becomes.
- the pan edge stone has an inner leg that extends along the inside the pan wall extends. This inner leg provides support for the pan curb on the inside of the pan wall and creates an additional one Protection of the pan rim from the inside of the pan wall.
- the cross-sectional thickness of the inner leg corresponds approximately to the cross-sectional thickness of one Permanent lining layer of the inner lining.
- the inner leg can be about start flush with the lining of the inner lining on the pan wall, see above that there is a straight transition between the permanent feed and the pan edge.
- the permanent lining layer forms a joint with the inner leg Contact surface on which, for example, a wearable working chuck is applied can be.

- the pouring edge serves for a defined pouring jet and the drip edge as a downstream limit, up to the drop as the Pour the pouring stream and drain it or let it flow back into the pan.
- An insulating filler can be arranged at least in regions of the pan wall.
- the insulating filler is used for additional insulation of the pan wall, especially in the area of the Pan edge so that less heat acts on the pan wall.
- the insulating filler as one in the curb between The curb and pan wall must be designed with a filling-insulating mat.
- the insulating mat can be placed over the edge of the pan, for example, and the pan edge stone is then placed on top, the insulating mat being a thin, clampable Material is that ensures a good fit of the curb.
- the curb can be releasably attached to the pan wall his. So the pan edge is interchangeable so that it is excessive Wear or damage can be easily removed and by one new one is replaced. The easy interchangeability makes repairs easier and significantly reduces the downtime caused by this.
- the curb may be clamped to the wall of the pan his.
- the attachment by clamping is often enough to securely close the pan edge to the pan wall fasten.
- the above can be used as a clamping means filling clamping insulating mat can be used. It has proven itself especially in the case of cross-sectionally U-shaped curbs that are on the pan wall can simply be attached. To remove the Randsteins are simply made using appropriate pliers gripped and pulled off, and a new curb can be put on become.
- the curb can be screwed on be attached to the pan wall.
- the screw connection is simple solvable. It is preferably from the outside through the Pan wall screwed into the pan edge stone, so that the Do not allow screws to come into contact with the casting material.
- the screws in the area of a essential horizontal paragraph of the pan edge provided be and extend approximately parallel to the pan wall. In order to extend the screws in an area parallel to that Lining of the pan and affect the protection of the pan wall not through the lining.
- the pan edge stone is made of ceramic consists. Ceramic is particularly suitable as a heat-resistant, wear-resistant material.
