Definitions
- the invention relates to a paper with a Cast coating process applied coating, made of a mineral pigment, a Starch derivative as well as more common Addition of known coating spreading aids comprehensive aqueous composition is formed.
- DE-43 27 366 C1 is an im Gussel coating process known paper whose coating has a gloss of 58 to 68% (according to Lehmann, angle 20 degrees).
- the known coating contains as a binder a latex with a glass transition temperature > 18 ° C and the pigment consists of 70 to 100 Parts by weight from string kaolin and / or talc.
- DE-41 39 386 C1 proposes one in Cast coating process pre-coated cardboard, the cast coating layer forming a film Synthetic resin binder, natural binder, but does not contain mineral pigment. According to the last two proposals the top layers gloss values in the range of more than 90%.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a paper that has a has sufficient smoothness, good Has ink acceptance and with high Accuracy is printable.
- the Invention also a paper with a matt surface provide that in image capture a reduced by means of image scanners Has error rate.
- the invention provides a solution to the problem Paper before, the one in the casting process applied coating, which consists of a mineral pigment, a starch derivative and in known addition amount known per se Aqueous coating compositions Composition is formed.
- the coating should be done by combining the following Characteristics: the pigment consists of 70 to 100% by weight ground calcium carbonate, precipitated Calcium carbonate, talc or a mixture of these Pigments and the binder of the coating consists of - based on 100 parts by weight of pigment 6 to 25 parts by weight of starch ether.
- the coating is characterized by the combination of the following features: 70 to 100% by weight of the pigment consists of: ground calcium carbonate, precipitated calcium carbonate, talc or a mixture of these pigments and the binder of the coating consists of a mixture which, based on 100 parts by weight of pigment, consists of 6 to 25% by weight . Parts of starch ether, 0.5 to 5 parts by weight of polyvinyl alcohol and / or 0.5 to 2 parts by weight of carboxylmethyl cellulose.
- the binder preferably consists of Coating from 6 to 15 parts by weight of starch ether, or is according to that specified in claim 2 Embodiment provided that the Binder mixture 6 to 15 parts by weight Starch ether contains.
- an aliphatic epoxy resin proven to be suitable, especially a Epoxy resin, which is a reaction product based on Bisphenol A and F and epichlorohydrin.
- a starch ether is preferably used Hydroxypropyl starch ether used, in particular a hydroxypropyl starch ether, the one Has degree of substitution ⁇ 0.2, very particularly is a hydroxypropyl starch ether with a Degree of substitution from 0.04 to 0.12 preferred.
- Coating becomes the well-known Gardener process used, whereby to solve the task especially one with an angle of 20 degrees measured gloss value ⁇ 5% proved to be suitable Has.
- the smoothness is measured in a suitable manner using the Parker Print Surf method according to ISO 8791-4, using one from Lorenzen u. Wettre device manufactured in Kista (Sweden). According to the invention, a value 2,5 2.5 ⁇ m , in particular ⁇ 2 ⁇ m , very particularly ⁇ 1.7 ⁇ m , has proven to be suitable.
- the coating according to the invention except the specified pigments and binder components also included: Dispersants, release agents, such as the stearates of sodium and calcium, oils, in particular Turkish red oil, shading dyes, Thickening agents, defoamers and agents for Regulation of pH, taking this Casting auxiliaries in an amount up to a total of 4 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight Pigment in the coating.
- Papers with a mass per unit area in the range from 40 to 250 g / m 2 are suitable as coating supports; if it is pre-coated papers, a coat weight of 16 to 25 g / m 2 is provided according to the invention. According to the invention, the coating is applied without a primer at a basis weight of 18 to 35 g / m 2 .
- the coating supports are preferably only provided with surface sizing.
- a calcium stearate dispersion is added as a release agent, the proportion of calcium stearate based on the total solids content of the mixture being 1% by weight.
- the finished coating color is adjusted to a pH of 9.9.
- the solids content of the coating color is 59.6% by weight.
- a wood-free coating base paper which had been sized and had a filler content of 8% by weight, which had been provided with a starch preparation and had a basis weight of 54 g / m 2 , was coated on a casting coater with the coating color specified above, where 26 g / m 2 - calculated as dry weight parts.
- the dried paper can be easily detached from the high-gloss cylinder.
- the Gardener gloss measurement at an angle of 20 degrees gives a value of 1.1%.
- the surface has a Parker Print Surf value of 1.7 ⁇ m.
- Example 1 A coating color according to Example 1 was prepared, the total pigment content remaining unchanged, but the talc used in Example 1 was replaced by coarsely ground calcium carbonate with a coarse grain. Otherwise, the procedure was as in Example 1, the application quantity of the coating color on the coating base paper specified in Example 1 being 26 g / m 2 . A gloss value of 1.1% and a Parker Print Surf value of 1.7 ⁇ m were measured.
- a coating color was used as in Example 1 manufactured, but with an additional 2 parts by weight a crosslinking aid - based on otro pigment - were added.
- specified crosslinking aids a reaction product of bisphenol A and F with Epichlorohydrin.
- Example 1 the coating color was applied to the coating base paper specified in Example 1.
- the application weight was 27 g / m 2 . It has a gloss value of 1.1% and a Parker Print Surf value of 1.7 ⁇ m was measured.
- a paper is produced according to Example 1, but the coating color contains instead of 35 parts by weight of talc only 20 parts by weight of talc and an additional 15 parts by weight of calcined kaolin as pigment component.
- the application weight was 25 g / m 2 .
