Definitions

  • the invention relates to a connector with two connector halves, in particular in the form of a pin connector and a female connector, each an insulating housing and a contact arrangement held thereon, which with the Contact arrangement of the other insulating housing is connectable, and with a locking device, the at least one extending in the direction of insertion Bolt on one connector half and at least one receiving sleeve for the bolt on the other connector half, wherein the bolt has a circumferential groove running essentially perpendicular to the direction of insertion has, into which through an opening in the receiving sleeve held resilient or spring-loaded locking member movable transversely to the direction of insertion can be snapped into place.
  • Such an electrical connector for example as a PCB or as Cable connector can be formed is known from DE 40 13 682 A1.
  • the locking member of a cross to the direction of insertion manually movable, plate-shaped slide element is formed.
  • the slide element engages through the opening in the receiving sleeve through from one side into the clear cross section of the receiving sleeve into it.
  • WO-A-93/08618 describes a locking mechanism for a round one Connectors with sockets and pin part, each having two cylindrical contacts, wherein the pin part is a locking part with a rising in the direction of insertion Has ramp and a transverse groove that with a sleeve on the socket part interacts, in a circumferential groove and an incision an elastic Spring element is attached, its straight base in the groove of the locking part snaps in and thus blocks a longitudinal displacement.
  • the spring element must be disconnected beforehand.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object, a connector of the above described type, to improve in that he in cramped handling conditions and is easier to use than known with limited accessibility Connector.
  • the solution according to the invention offers the compared to the known solution Advantage that a user only has to disconnect the two Connector halves need to pull apart without additionally having to actuate the locking member - in the known connector, the slide element - in the direction transverse to the direction of insertion.
  • the spring clip essentially U-shaped and in a to the direction of insertion in essentially vertical plane on the receiving sleeve in the region of its preferred slit-shaped opening held.
  • the spring clip can economically from a wire section are manufactured or bent. In this case it turns out to be special advantageous if the receiving sleeve is preferred in addition to the two slot-shaped circumferential openings a circumferential groove for receiving the Has arc area of the U-shaped spring clip.
  • the free ends of the Legs of the spring clip can be particularly simple in this case Be bent towards each other, so that the spring clip when used as intended Arrangement on the receiving sleeve in the radial direction resilient but not from the receptacle when used as intended is solvable.
  • the pin-side connector half is thus both designed with a spring clip according to the invention Connector half as well as with a known, a screw connection having connector half connectable.
  • the spring clip has a round cross-section and in the locked Condition only up to half their thickness or less in the circumferential groove of the Bolted "immersed", it is possible to view the groove at right angles in cross section training, because in this case the spring clip when pulling apart the connector halves snaps out of the groove.
  • the spring clip on the other hand, is non-circular in cross-section or deeper than half “immerses” its thickness in the circumferential groove of the bolt, it proves to be advantageous if the front groove wall of the circumferential groove of the bolt has an outer, has tapered area to the bolt jacket, over which the spring clip when the connector halves are pulled apart, slide them out of the groove or can snap and thus can release the lock.
  • the bolt-side is of particular importance
  • Connector half of a connector according to the invention designed so that the front groove wall of the circumferential groove of the bolt has an outer, area tapered to the bolt jacket and inclined to the direction of insertion and an inner region which is essentially perpendicular to the direction of insertion having.
  • Such a pin-side connector half offers the Advantage that they both with the other connector half according to the invention as well as with a known from DE 40 13 682 A1 Connector half with slide element that can be moved transversely to the direction of insertion can be connected. In the latter case it is locked State of the connector engaging in the circumferential groove of the bolt Edge area of the slide element against the inner, to the direction of insertion in essential vertical area and is secured by this.
  • the locking can be achieved by pulling the connector halves apart not loosen, but it must do this the slide element transverse to the direction of insertion be deflected from the circumferential groove of the bolt.
  • the one described pin-side connector half can also be with a socket side Connect connector half with spring clip; in such a case the Spring clip, as described at the beginning, into the groove and snaps into place Pull the connector halves apart over the tapered outer one Wall area of the circumferential groove sliding out of the groove.
  • the groove bottom is proposed the circumferential groove of the bolt to be stepped, so that a front and radially inner step area for engaging a slide element a corresponding connector half is used.
  • FIG. 1 shows a connector half 2 designed as a circuit board connector and a connector half designed as a cable connector 4.
  • the connector half 2 comprises an insulating housing 6 for receiving the circuit board connected contact wires 8, which lead to a contact arrangement 10.
  • the connector half 4 comprises an insulating housing 12, in which not shown wire ends to one with the contact arrangement 10 connectable contact arrangement 14 lead.
  • a locking device designated overall by reference numeral 16 comprises two on the insulating housing 6 bolts 18, and two on the Insulating housing 12 arranged receiving sleeves 20 for the bolts 18.
  • the receiving sleeve 20 has two opposite one another slot-shaped openings 22. Through the slit-shaped openings 22 engages a U-shaped spring clip 24 in the clear cross section of the receiving sleeve 20, as can also be seen from FIGS. 3 and 5.
  • the receiving sleeve 20 is also in the range of. Openings 22 with a circumferential groove 26 ( Figure 3) provided, in which the spring clip 24 engages.
  • the bolt 18 has a threaded bore extending in the longitudinal direction of the axis 28 on; the bolt 18 can therefore be locked with a. known screw-lockable connector half can be used. Furthermore the pin 18 has a conical insertion bevel 30 and a vertical one to the insertion direction extending circumferential groove 32. One in the direction of insertion Front groove wall 34 of the circumferential groove 32 has one to the front end of the Bolt 18 on beveled area 36, which towards the groove bottom 38 in egg wall area 40 perpendicular to the direction of insertion.
  • the bolt 18 When inserting the bolt 18 into the receiving sleeve 20 when connecting the the two connector halves, the bolt 18 through the insertion bevel 30th centered, and it is the spring clip 24 from the. clear cross section of the Receiving sleeve 20 displaces and then slides on a jacket section 42 the bolt 18.
  • the spring element 24 snaps over the chamfered groove edge area 34 sliding into the circumferential groove 32 of the bolt 18 and thus locks the two connector halves.
  • the circumferential groove 32 or its groove bottom 38 is step-shaped, wherein a front and radially inner step region 44 of which essentially Groove wall area 40 extending perpendicular to the direction of insertion is limited.
  • the connector half 2 designed in this way can be used with DE 40 13 682 A1 known connector half with sliding lock, which in the Figure 6 is shown use.
  • the locking device 48 this Connector half 46 includes one on the insulating housing of the connector half 46 locking spring 50 held in a plate-shaped slide element 52 passes.
  • the slide element 52 comprises two openings 54 and 56, through which receiving sleeves 58 and 60 extend.
  • the slide element 52 can be deflected in the direction of arrow 62.
  • FIG. 5 shows the U-shaped spring clip 24 as an individual part.
  • the spring clip 24 includes an arcuate portion 72 and Leg regions 74 and 76.
  • the free ends 78 and 80 of the leg regions 74, 76 are bent towards each other, which prevents the Spring clip 24 when properly arranged on the receiving sleeve 20 of these releases.
  • the leg area 74 from the bracket level 82 upwards and the leg area 76 is bent down.
