Definitions
- the invention relates to a sound damping device, in particular for attachment to space-limiting surfaces.
- Flat-shaped sound damping devices are also known, which are also attached to walls and ceilings of acoustic rooms.
- Such flat sound attenuation devices include a porous absorber and a Helmholtz resonator.
- the invention has for its object to provide a sound attenuation device of the type mentioned, which takes up little space in the depth of the room and has a sound-absorbing effect over a broadband frequency range. In addition, it should be easy and inexpensive to manufacture.
- a sound damping device in particular for attachment to space-limiting surfaces, is proposed with a first damping element for low sound frequencies and a second damping element for high sound frequencies, the first damping element being a plate absorber arranged at a distance from a wall surface and the second damping element has a porous absorber arranged on the plate absorber.
- This inventive design of a sound damping device avoids space-consuming wedge structures.
- the sound damping device according to the invention is constructed in a particularly simple manner from two damping elements, the first damping element being used to absorb sound frequencies below 500 Hz.
- the second damping element arranged on the first damping element damps sound frequencies above it by means of friction and other energy losses.
- the sound attenuation device according to the invention is characterized by a compact design and in particular by a smooth surface. Space losses are kept low. When used in wind tunnel systems, the flow losses previously caused by the wedge structures are reduced by the configuration according to the invention.
- the spacer is frame-shaped and the plate absorber arranged on the spacer encloses a cavity with the wall or ceiling surface.
- the plate absorber consists of a flexible material. This further improves sound absorption in the low frequency range.
- the plate absorber is a closed plastic film, in particular a film made of polyurethane.
- the thickness of the plate absorber is between 20 ⁇ m and 200 ⁇ m.
- a thickness of the plate absorber of 25 ⁇ m to 50 ⁇ m has proven to be particularly advantageous.
- the spacer element consists of foam, in particular of an open-cell synthetic foam, such as polyurethane or melamine resin foam.
- the thickness of the spacer element is approximately 100 mm.
- An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that a lateral covering is provided for the spacer element.
- This envelope is advantageously made of sheet metal.
- the porous absorber consists of foam, in particular an open-cell synthetic foam, such as polyurethane or melamine resin foam.
- a perforated film is provided on the surface of the porous absorber facing the sound. Such a film does not impair the absorption characteristics of the sound attenuation device for high frequencies.
- a perforated area proportion of the perforated film of 20 to 80% is advantageous.
- a perforation area ratio of 30 to 50% has proven to be particularly advantageous.
- the porous absorber is essentially cuboid and has a thickness of approximately 130 mm.
- Figure 1 shows a sound damping device 1, which is attached to a space-defining surface 6 (wall or ceiling).
- the sound damping device 1 comprises two damping elements.
- the first damping element for low sound frequencies has a frame-shaped spacer element 2 and a plate absorber 3 arranged on the spacer element 2.
- the spacer element 2 is attached to the space-limiting surface 6, for example by gluing.
- a cavity 5 filled with air is enclosed with the space-limiting surface 6.
- the spacer element 2 consists of a foam, in particular an open-cell foam, such as, for example, polyurethane or melamine resin foam.
- the plate absorber 3 consists of a flexible material, advantageously of a plastic film.
- This inventive design of the first damping element attenuates sound frequencies below approximately 500 Hz through the flexible plate absorber 3 and the cavity 5 lying towards the space-limiting surface 6.
- the spacer element 2 can be laterally surrounded by a sheath 7.
- This covering 7, which can be, for example, a thin metal or sheet metal strip or the like, further improves the absorption quality of the first damping element and delimits it from adjacent further sound damping devices.
- the second damping element of the sound damping device 1 is attached directly to the plate absorber 3, for example by gluing, and essentially comprises a porous absorber 4 made of foam, in particular made of an open-cell synthetic foam such as polyurethane or melamine resin foam.
- the porous absorber 4 can have a film 8 provided with holes 9 on its surface facing the sound.
- the proportion of perforated area of this perforated film 8 is 20 to 80%.
- a perforation area ratio of 30 to 50% has proven to be particularly advantageous.
- the thickness of the spacer element 2 is approximately 100 mm, that of the porous absorber 4 approximately 130 mm. Since the plastic film serving as plate absorber 3 is a maximum of only 200 ⁇ m, advantageously only 50 ⁇ m thick, the entire soundproofing device has a thickness of only about 230 mm. Thus, compared to the otherwise usual about 1 m long substructures, a clear gain in space is associated, so that the acoustic rooms to be damped offer more space by equipping them with sound damping devices according to the invention, or can be built smaller from the outset.
- the sound damping device according to the invention can be used in wind tunnel systems, since the flat, the flow losses are kept low parallel to the surface running parallel to the surface.
- the sound damping device dampens sound in a broadband frequency range in accordance with the results of a measurement series shown below.
- the degree of sound absorption was determined in accordance with DIN 52212.
- the thickness of the porous absorber 4 made of Basotect was 130 mm
- the thickness of the plate absorber 3 was 50 ⁇ m
- the thickness of the enclosed cavity 5 was 100 mm.
- the test area was 9.8 m 2
- the measured reverberation room had a volume of 210 m 3 .
- the sound absorption coefficient ⁇ s was measured over the frequency f in Hz.
- the sound absorption coefficient is ⁇ s over a wide frequency range from 200 Hz to 5000 Hz consistently greater than 1. Only below approximately 180 Hz does the degree of sound absorption drop below 1.

Abstract
