Definitions

  • the invention relates to a drawer locking device for a drawer cabinet with several drawers, which blocks the simultaneous pulling out of several drawers.
  • Locking devices of this type are described, for example, in FR-OS 2 677 071, EP-0 286 199 B1 and US Pat. No. 4,993,784. These relatively complicated locking devices work with a large number of discrete, pillar-shaped, displacement bodies and a rotary latch per drawer, the rotary latches being arranged at a vertical distance from one another and each being pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis. When pivoting by pulling the associated drawer, the rotary latch releases a pin-shaped or web-shaped horizontally arranged engagement means, for example a locking wedge, arranged on the drawer and displaces the displacement bodies in such a way that their displacement is blocked by another rotary latch of the locking device.
  • a pin-shaped or web-shaped horizontally arranged engagement means for example a locking wedge
  • a relatively simple drawer locking device is known from FR-OS 2 365 677, in which the rotary latches can be pivoted about a vertical axis.
  • the rotary latches work together with a pin, web or locking wedge arranged vertically on the drawer and sit - partially through an opening at a certain height in a bearing tube accommodating the displacement bodies - between the displacement bodies. Their position is determined by the height of the displacement body and the position of the through openings, so that this locking device can also be used only for a specific drawer cabinet and series production for universal use is not readily possible.
  • a relatively simple trained locking device without rotary latches suitable for series production and universal use is described in FR-PS 2 173 463.
  • the displacement bodies mounted in a tube are each provided at certain points with a threaded hole into which a threaded pin can be screwed.
  • the grub screw which is an engagement means for an engagement wedge arranged on the drawer, can be screwed into any displacement body so that its height position can be selected with reference to the height position required for the drawer.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a universally usable drawer locking device which is suitable for series production and works with rotary latches and which consists of simple individual parts and is simple and quick to assemble.
  • the essentially plate-shaped rail 2 has a guide bar 14 which is oval in cross section and laterally adjacent, preferably at an unequal distance, each with a guide bar 15, 16 which is L-shaped in cross section and forms a groove 20 together with the rail plate U.
  • a groove 18 with an oval cross section is provided in the rear wall 17 of each module block 3 in the longitudinal center, and guide webs 19 are provided on the side longitudinal edges of the rear wall 17.
  • the oval guide bar 14 fits in a form-fitting manner in the oval groove 18 and the U-shaped guide grooves 20, 21 receive the guide webs 19 in a form-fitting manner. Accordingly, the module blocks 3 can be threaded into the guide system of the rail 2 at one end and moved to the other end.
  • the unequal spacing of the guide strips 15, 16 serves to insert the module blocks 3 correctly and unmistakably into the rail system.
  • Each module block 3 is essentially cuboid and accordingly has, in addition to the rear wall 17, side walls 22, 23, a front wall 24 and an upper wall 25 and a lower wall 26.
  • the holes 6 and 8 passing through the block are made in the longitudinal direction of the module block 3, of which the hole 6 is expediently circular in cross section.
  • a slot-like rotary catch recess 27 which is approximately rectangular in plan view and which extends over the holes, is also introduced approximately halfway up, or in the region of its longitudinal center, deep into the interior parallel to the upper and lower walls 25, 26 6 and 8 extends and opens into the side wall 23 and the front wall 24.
  • a groove-shaped recess 28 which runs through the block and is open to the front wall 24 can also be provided between the holes 6, 8 and running parallel to it.
  • the rotary latch 4 can be inserted in a form-fitting manner into the slot-shaped rotary latch recess 27, in which the thickness of the rotary latch 4 corresponds to the slot height of the rotary latch recess 27.
  • the rotary latch 4 has the axle hole 7, a U-shaped recess 30 for a locking wedge 34 being arranged on one side of the axle hole 7 and a wedge-shaped displacement lug 31 oriented perpendicular to the extent of the locking wedge recess 30 being arranged on the opposite side.
  • the terminal block 11 is positioned and fastened in the rail 2. From the other end of the rail 2, the module blocks 3, which all have the same design and height, are then pushed on until the rail 2 is equipped with the housing column 13 of the desired length. Subsequently, displacement bodies 9 fitting into the holes 8 are filled into the displacement channel 8a of the housing column 13 formed by the holes 8 to form the displacement body column 10.
  • the displacement bodies 9 are tapered in the shape of a truncated cone at their ends, so that two adjacent displacement bodies 9 placed one on top of the other result in a V-shaped groove 32.
  • the length of the displacement body 9 is selected and the displacement body column 10 is supported in the channel 8a in such a way that the grooves 32 are always arranged in the middle of the slot height of a rotary latch recess 27 and the displacement body 9 against the spring force of an upper spring 33 and a lower spring 33a predetermined piece can be displaced.
  • Rotary latches 4 are inserted into predetermined module blocks 3, the displacement lugs 31 being placed against the grooves 32 and the striker recess 30 protruding from the housing column 13. Then the axis of rotation 5 is firmly inserted into the axis channel 7a of the housing column 13 formed by the holes 6 and 7.
  • a locking wedge 34 arranged on a drawer 1 engages in the locking wedge recess 30 of the rotary latch 4 in a manner known per se (FIG. 3). If a drawer is opened, the closing wedge 34 presses in the direction of the arrow 35 and pivots the catch 4, the wedge nose 31 being forced between two displacement bodies 9 and displacing one displacement body 9 a little upwards and the other displacement body 9 a little downwards. As a result, the grooves 32 are displaced between the other displacement bodies 9 in such a way that the wedge nose 31 of the other rotary latches 4 abut against the cylinder wall of the displacement bodies 9 designed as full cylinders. Because these rotary latches can no longer be pivoted, none of the other drawers can be opened.
  • a second embodiment of the drawer locking device according to the invention does not require a rail in order to fix the module blocks 3 in a row.
  • the module blocks 3 are on their upper and lower walls 25, 26 with pins 40 and Corresponding recesses 41 provided so that they can be put together, forming a continuous row, put together.
  • the module blocks are provided with through holes 42, which form a continuous channel for receiving a rod in the row of module blocks sitting on one another.
  • two through holes 42 are provided on each module block 3 in order to form two channels for receiving a rod 44, 45 each.
  • the through holes 42 are arranged approximately centrally to the pins 40 and recesses 41, the cross-sectional area of the through holes being somewhat smaller than that of the pins 40 or recesses 41.
  • the recesses 41 and through holes 42 are preferably bores with circular cross section.
  • the individual module blocks are assembled into a continuous row by inserting the module blocks 3 with their pins 40 into the recesses 41. Thereafter, at least one rod 44, preferably two rods 44, 45 is guided into the channels formed by the through holes 42.
  • a terminal block 11, 12 is attached, which has corresponding pins 40 or corresponding recesses 41, in order to cooperate with the outermost block 3 of a row.
  • the blocks 11, 12 are screwed to the rods 44, 45, so that a stable row of module blocks 3 sitting one on top of the other is produced.
  • the screw connection is preferably carried out with a thread and nuts 47 provided at the ends of the rod or an internal thread provided in block 11.
  • This stable unit made up of module blocks 3 sitting on top of one another can then be screwed onto an inner wall of the cabinet, for which purpose the module blocks 3 are provided with plate-shaped sections 48 which extend laterally outwards and each have a bore 49 for the passage of a screw.
  • a third embodiment of the drawer locking device according to the invention corresponds to the arrangement of the pins 40, recesses 41 and through holes 42 of the second embodiment.
  • These two embodiments differ only in the type of attachment to an inner wall of the cabinet, which in the third embodiment is carried out by hook-shaped elements 50 which are located on the rear wall 17 of the module block 3. With these hook-shaped elements 50, the module blocks 3 or a row of module blocks 3 sitting one on top of the other can be hung on reinforcing surfaces of an inside wall of a cabinet. It is therefore not necessary to provide holes in the module blocks 3 in order to screw them onto the inside wall of the cabinet.
  • any combinations of the type of attachment to the inner wall of the cabinet are possible; in particular, such attachment to the terminal blocks 11, 12 can be carried out by screwing the two blocks 11, 12 onto the inner wall of the cabinet or snapping them into a locking element provided on the inner wall of the cabinet.
  • a fourth embodiment of the locking device according to the invention has module blocks 3 which are held together with a single rod 44 by the rod being fixed to the terminal blocks 11, 12, for example by screwing.
  • the module blocks 3 are provided with pins 40 and corresponding recesses 41, so that the module blocks 3, as in the second and third embodiments, can be inserted into one another.
  • the through hole 42 for the single rod 44 is not arranged in the recesses 41 in the module block but in the transverse center of the module block.
  • the module block 3 can be formed from a thin back wall 53 which only has a thicker area for receiving the rod 44 in the center.
  • the module block is also not a solid body, but the holes 6 and 8 for the displacement column 10 and for the axis of rotation 5 of the rotary latches 4 are perpendicular to the rear wall 43 protruding ribs 54a, 54b, 54c, 54d, are provided.
  • the rotary latch recess 27, in which the rotary latch 4 is arranged, is located between the ribs 54a and 54b or 54c and 54d. There is a further recess between the ribs 54b and 54c or between the ribs 54a and 54d of adjacent module blocks 3, which leads to a significant material saving compared to the above-mentioned embodiments.
  • the displacement bodies 9 are guided through the arrangement of ribs 54a to 54d through holes 8 spaced apart from one another in the longitudinal direction of the displacement body column 10.
  • the distance between the ribs 54a to 54d should be smaller than the length of a displacement body 9, so that the displacement bodies 9 cannot fall out of the channel formed by the holes 8.
  • a module block according to the invention can also be formed with only two ribs of this type, a displacement body 9 then being provided in the displacement column for each module block.
  • a groove-shaped recess 28 is provided between the holes 6, 8 and running parallel thereto (FIG. 10).
  • This fourth embodiment of the locking device according to the invention can be produced by the thin back wall 53, the thin ribs 54a to 54d and the groove 28 with little material expenditure, which can be equated with a significant cost saving in such a mass product.
  • the module blocks 3 are provided on the back of the back walls 53 with hook-shaped elements or hooks 50 with which they can be hung in a bar 51.
  • the module blocks with abutment beads 58 projecting therefrom abut the bar 51.
  • the strip 51 has a U-shaped cross section with a main wall 51a, two side walls 51b projecting perpendicularly therefrom and two further walls 51c, which adjoin the side walls 51b perpendicularly and serve to attach the strip to an inner wall 60 of a drawer cabinet.
  • the bar 51 can by gluing, screwing or the like to the Inner wall 60 of a drawer cabinet can be attached.
  • the strip 51 is provided with regularly spaced holes 52 into which module blocks with their hook-shaped elements 50 are hung. The distance between the centers of the individual holes 52 corresponds to the length of the module blocks 3 if each module block 3 is provided with a hook-shaped element 50.
  • a combination of module blocks 3 with and without hook-shaped element 50 is also possible.
  • the center points of the holes 6, 8 and 42 for the displacement column 10, or the axis of rotation 5 or for the single rod 44 preferably form an approximately isosceles triangle, i.e. the holes 6, 8 are approximately the same distance from the back wall 53, or preferably form an equilateral triangle.
  • the module blocks have only a small depth, i.e. the distance between the back of the back wall 53 and the holes 6, 8 or the walls surrounding them is small.
  • the locking device according to the invention takes up little space when it is mounted on the partition wall 60 of a cabinet.
  • the rotary latch 4 is adapted to the rear wall 53 with the side 59 resting on the rear wall 53 in the extended state of the corresponding drawer 61, so that the thicker area of the rear wall 53 with the through hole 42 is surrounded by the arc of the side 59 of the rotary latch 4.
  • the locking wedge 34 which engages in the locking wedge recess 30 of the rotary latch 4, is provided on a locking wedge element 62 which comprises a bottom wall 63 and a side wall 64.
  • the bottom wall 63 is fastened to the drawer 61 with an area and extends rearward beyond the drawer 61, the side wall 64 standing upright on the bottom wall having a recess 66, so that the striker 34 is a web in the side wall 64.
  • the engagement mechanism between the wedge element 62 and the rotary latch 4 can be simplified in that only a single pin 4a is provided on the rotary latch, which in the Recess 66 of the side wall 64 of the locking wedge element engages, or that a locking wedge recess 30 is formed on the rotary latch 4 by two pins 4a and 4b and on the locking wedge element only a thin web or pin or the like engaging in the locking wedge recess 30 is provided, which the locking wedge 34 represents.
  • the principle of operation of the rotary latch 4 with the cooperating displacement bodies 9 is the same in the second, third and fourth embodiment of the drawer locking device according to the invention as in the first embodiment, so that the same parts are denoted by the same reference numerals in the drawings.
  • the module blocks of the second, third and fourth embodiment have two rotary latch recesses 27, which is a difference from the first embodiment, but also fulfills the functional principle of the device according to the invention.
  • a simplified embodiment of the drawer locking device according to the invention can only be provided with a single rod 44, this rod simultaneously representing the axis of rotation 5 for the catch 4 in the modules 3.
  • the drawer locking device according to the invention is very simple and easy to assemble. Since the module blocks 3 are only a few centimeters, for example only 2 to 5, in particular 3 to 4 centimeters high, rotary latches 4 can be set at the appropriate distance. Accordingly, a relatively fine adjustment of the height of the rotary latches 4 can take place and the height can be adapted to different drawer cabinets. By storing the displacement body 9 and the axis of rotation 5 in the modules 3, and thereby a catch 4 optionally in a certain module block 3, it is possible to achieve the object according to the invention with simple means.
  • the shape of the module blocks and the shape of the rotary latch recess, as well as the shape of the rotary latch, can be freely designed within the scope of the invention. It is essential that a rotary latch fits into each of the module blocks and is pivotably mounted in the module block, with stops in the rotary latch recess 27 being expediently provided for the swivel limitation. It is also essential that the displacement channel is formed by the module blocks and the grooves between the displacement bodies in each module block, into which a rotary latch can be inserted, are accessible for the attack of the rotary latch. In this context it is useful if the axis channel for the axis of rotation of the rotary latches is also formed by the module blocks.
  • module blocks without a rotary latch recess, at the height of the housing column, in which no rotary latches are arranged. It is also within the scope of the invention to use module blocks which have a plurality of rotary latch recesses, for example 3 or 4 rotary latch recesses.
  • the rotary latch arrangement according to the invention is also suitable for blocking the entirety of the drawers if, for example, a rotary latch which can be operated independently of the drawer, for example combined with a pull rod, is provided, through the pivoting of which all other rotary latches are blocked.
  • This device can also be used for other drawer locking devices that work with rotary latches, in that only one additional identical rotary latch is positioned at the appropriate location.
