Definitions

  • the invention relates to a step and in particular a compact step which can be closed in position out of service according to a minimum overall volume.
  • Known running boards (eg DE-A-3 240 682) generally have a hinged climb plan and kickstand plan adjacent to each other so that when the plans in the out-of-service position of the running board to catch your fingers at the joint of your these plans.
  • the plans apply against each other when closing, so that the space requirement when closing the step is the sum of the volumes of the climb plans and crutch.
  • the invention aims to remedy these drawbacks by offering a step of the type comprising a plan of climb articulated to a stand plan, the climb plan consisting of two amounts to which are fixed steps, and the crutch plan consisting of two uprights rigidly connected to each other in the same plan, characterized in that the connecting elements of the stands of the kickstand do not interfere with steps from the ascent to closing plan, said plans are articulated to each other along an axis coincident with their geometric intersection line and are shaped with a distance between determined amounts, such so that, in the step closing position, the climb plan is part of the plan stand, the distance between the neighboring uprights correspondents of the plans being additionally equal to at least twenty five millimeters (25 mm) in the area of articulation.
  • the closed position the step only occupies one overall volume equal to a single plane, that of climb, and that, on the other hand, we avoid getting stuck fingers at the joint of the planes which, in because of its height situation, is generally the entry area for step, distance between uprights at this level of at least twenty five millimeters (25 mm) does not reaching the operator's fingers.
  • the amounts of plans can be conformed in their plan along a variable line, for example slightly curved but it is advantageous that they are straight.
  • the set includes a transverse plane of symmetry median.
  • the corresponding lateral uprights of the plans are advantageously articulated to each other by means of a monobloc articulation piece and after molding in plastic material, also comprising a part spacer of width equal to at least twenty five millimeters (25 mm).
  • This piece has the general shape of collar suitable for being fitted around the uprights crutch plans at their upper end and carries a tubular part on one of its faces, forming a spacer between said neighboring uprights and possibly bearing of the articulation axis.
  • This piece can also be mounted at the end upper uprights of the climb plan to receive by the tubular part a so-called holding tube upper step.
  • the invention therefore also relates to the aforementioned piece remarkable for its two functions on the running boards.
  • the step according to the invention comprises two planes articulated to each other, the climb plan 1 provided with steps 3 and the crutch plan 5 which opens in service position to maintain the climb plan 1 in an inclined situation conducive to climbing stairs by people and which closes in drawdown on the climb out of service position.
  • the locking the opening of the kickstand 5 is ensured through the upper platform 7, which is articulated to the ascent plane 1, above from the last top step and is hooked at the horizontal on the stand 5 by means of classic hooking on the latter, for example by a removable platform finger engaged in a light of one of the amounts of the plan (not shown).
  • the plan of mounted 1 includes two straight tubular uprights 9 (contained in this same plan) and to which the steps 3 which contribute to rigidly connecting them one to the other.
  • the stand 5 also has two straight tubular uprights 11 (contained in this plan), of the same section as those of the ascent plan and lower length. These uprights are rigidly connected by two plates 13 fixed on their rear face, substantially respectively at the bottom of the step between the first and second steps 3 from the bottom and at the upper platform 7.
  • the two uprights 9 of the climb plan slightly converge towards each other with symmetry with respect to a median plane P of symmetry of the step.
  • An upper horizontal holding tube 15 connects them at their upper end.
  • Both uprights 11 of the stand plan also symmetrical from each other with respect to the convergent midplane P upward but at a lesser angle than the amounts of the climb plan. They are articulated according to the axis of articulation b of the stands and climb, which is also their line of intersection geometric. They are each articulated at an amount of climb plan, outside of these but low distance, about 25 mm, from each of them at the articulation, by means of an articulation piece 17 mounted at their upper end.
  • the spacing of the amounts coupled to the level lower is less, which allows the folding of the climb plan inside the stand plan and according to a common plane containing the axis hinge b.
  • the step thus comprises two articulation parts lateral 17 of the 2 pairs of articulated uprights 9.11 of kickstand and ascent plans.
  • These, identical to each other ( Figure 3) and symmetrically mounted one on the other with respect to the plane P have the general form of rectangular section necklace, of dimensions equivalent to the clearance close to those of the uprights. They are mounted fitted to the upper end of these last. They have a striated external contour on the long sides of the rectangle with a rounded cutout 19 at the lower and upper level. This conformation brings in addition an aesthetic configuration, a rigidity important mechanics.
  • An axis drilling hole 21 is formed in each of the two opposite ridged faces 22 at median level.
  • the diameter of these holes corresponds to clearance close to that of the axis (simple rivet 23 or screw) which crosses it.
  • one of these faces has a circular internal recess 25, formed coaxially to the holes and to the axis and capable of receiving the head 27 of the axis (of the rivet 23 or of the screw) and the other face a external tubular part 29 also arranged coaxial to the axis.
  • the length of the tubular part or tube 29 is 25 mm and its diameter greater than that of the axis.
  • This tube acts as a spacer 25 mm long joint between each of the stands and step-up plan, being crossed by the pin (rivet) mounted traversing in each of the amounts of the climb plans and stand.
  • this spacer maintains a spacing important between neighboring uprights coupled with plans stand and stand, about 25 mm. This spacing prevents fingers from getting caught closing in the out-of-service position of the step.
  • the tube rests on the external face of the upright of the plane climb.
  • the part 17 provided with its collar part and its tubular part is formed in one piece, being from hard plastic molding, for example polypropylene.
  • the plastic contributes to lubricate the joint in contact with the upright climb.
  • the retaining tube is mounted through on the face internal of each post of the climb plan by a hole 31 and is retained in translation by a stop inside opposite external faces of the uprights.
  • the coin comes thus styling the upper end of the uprights of same as an end part of the holding tube, thus concealing the drilling hole 31 of the upright.
  • the tube bore diameter 29 is equivalent to the clearance to that of tube 15, this to allow sliding of the latter inside.
  • Protective cap 33 can also be fitted at the end of the upright, this tip being shaped for appearance reasons aesthetic, rounded to the shape of the cut upper part of part 17. The assembly of this part is simple.
  • the articulation it is carried out by fitting of the part in the upper end of each amount of the stand plan, the tube part 29 being turned towards the amount of the climb plan, and translation until its drilling holes 21 are in alignment with those of the uprights (pre-drilled).
  • the rivet 23 or the axis screw is then threaded into the room and simultaneously into the upright crutch, then in the amount of climb plan, then fixed by stamping at determined pressure application or tightened by bolt at its end 35 on the internal face of the amount of climb plan.
  • a upper protection cap 33 is threaded the upper end of the upright. This tip is shaped like a rounded piece.
  • the plastic material of the tube part forming a spacer contributes to lubricate the faces of the uprights in friction with this part of the tube.
  • a brake device for example a shoe 37 arranged at the bottom of the stands of the crutch plan and on their internal face can lock the closing of the step, the amount stand coming to a stop by brake 37 in alignment of the amount of the climb plan, the latter and the stand plan then being confused.
  • the connecting plates 13 of the uprights of crutch are arranged so as not to interfere when folding down with steps 3 and platform 7.
