Definitions

  • the invention relates to a floor cleaning machine with a housing which carries on the top a drive unit having an electric motor and on the inside a cleaning and / or polishing disc which can be rotated about an essentially vertical axis and is spring-loaded slightly adjustable relative to its horizontal normal position during machine operation, and with a pivotably mounted guide rod and a swivel castor chassis is connected.
  • Such a floor cleaning machine is known from DE-A-3 638 666.
  • a castor is mounted on the underside of a rocker on the underside of the housing in a spring-supported manner and is connected to the housing. This ensures that the cleaning and / or polishing disc no longer has to absorb the total weight of the floor cleaning machine.
  • the roller trolley supports part of the machine weight on the floor. Compared to machines in which the machine weight is supported on the floor only via the cleaning and / or polishing disk, the proportion of the weight components pressing the working surface of the disk onto the floor can be kept considerably lower in this previously known machine, so that the cleaning and / or polishing wheel can be driven at a higher speed and / or the total weight of the Machine can be increased.
  • Standard motors can then be used instead of weight-optimized special motors.
  • this known floor cleaning machine it is also possible to load or relieve the swiveling spring-supported roller carriage by slightly lifting or lowering the guide rod relative to the normal position and thereby pressing corresponding areas of the cleaning and / or polishing disc more strongly onto the floor .
  • the front or rear circumferential area of the cleaning and / or polishing disk in the working direction can be pressed more strongly onto the floor.
  • a disadvantage of this known floor cleaning machine is that a not inconsiderable proportion of the machine weight is always transferred to the floor via the cleaning and / or polishing disc.
  • the previously known floor cleaning machine can undesirably break out laterally when it is started. The operating personnel can only counteract this process with effort.
  • the object of the invention is to improve a generic floor cleaning machine in such a way that the machine weight is supported almost exclusively on the chassis on the floor, but the cleaning and / or polishing disc can still be pressed onto the floor in a targeted manner by pivoting the guide rod .
  • this object is achieved according to the invention in that the swivel castor chassis supports the housing in an equilibrium-stable manner on the floor and in the housing a support plate carrying the drive unit, the cleaning and / or polishing disc and the guide rod by one on the housing and on the support plate, the horizontal pivot axis is adjustably spring-supported relative to its horizontal normal position.
  • the carrier plate provided with the complete drive unit and the cleaning and / or polishing disc and the guide rod is designed to be rockable or pivotable without the housing carrying out the desired rocking or pivoting movement.
  • the entire weight of the machine is supported on the floor by the housing and the swivel castor chassis.
  • the cleaning machine is in its initial or ready position in a stable equilibrium and the cleaning and / or polishing disk lies flat or almost flat with the entire surface on the floor in a pressure-free or almost pressure-free manner.
  • the floor cleaning machine can be easily pushed back and forth.
  • the resiliently supported mounting of the carrier plate with drive unit and cleaning and / or polishing disc enables it to be tilted or Swiveling in the chassis formed by the housing and swivel castor chassis by slightly raising or lowering the guide rod.
  • the front or rear circumferential region of the disk which is in the direction of movement of the floor cleaning machine, can be pressed onto the floor to an increased extent, so that a reciprocating mode of operation, as described above, is possible.
  • Due to the formation of a swivel roller chassis the rollers or wheels set themselves crosswise when the rotating cleaning and / or polishing disc is pressed in regions due to the transverse force generated thereby and enable the transverse force to be converted into the desired pendulum movement.
  • the total weight of the floor cleaning machine can theoretically be increased to such an extent that the operating personnel are just able to move it.
  • the pressure preload of the compression springs means that the cleaning and / or polishing disc only ever rests on the floor with a slight pressure.
  • An embodiment of the invention that is advantageously technically simple to implement is characterized in that axially opposite one slide block arranged on the carrier plate and one shaft bearing block arranged on the housing are each formed with a pivot axis connecting them and offset in the direction of the guide rod between the carrier plate and the housing, also axially opposite each other, a compression spring is arranged.
  • the carrier plate is securely mounted in the housing and can be pivoted against the pressure force of the compression springs using the lever arm of the guide rod without great effort.
  • the pressure preload of the compression springs is expediently set here in such a way that the carrier plate is held in the rest position in an at least approximately horizontal position, as is also provided by the invention.
  • a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the pressure preload of the compression springs is adjustable.
  • the invention provides in a further embodiment that the swivel castor chassis has at least two, preferably three, swivel castors, of which at least one swivel castor is adjustable in height. This makes it possible to vary the contact pressure of the cleaning and / or polishing wheel on the floor and to adapt the floor cleaning machine to cleaning and / or polishing wheels of different wheel thicknesses.
  • a dust ring with a bristle trim on the bottom is arranged to be height-adjustable. With the help of the dust ring it is prevented that the fan or blower effect generated by the high speed of the cleaning and / or polishing disc does not lead to dust being whirled up. It also prevents the power cord from being run over because the bristle trimmings push it aside.
  • the invention provides that the floor cleaning machine has a warning lamp which is switched on as a function of the current and / or power as a function of a relay and which lights up when the engine is subjected to excessive stress.
  • the warning lamp lights up, the operating personnel are informed that the floor cleaning machine is no longer working in the optimum performance range.
  • the latter is in particular a danger that occurs with floor cleaning machines operating at high speeds.
  • the floor cleaning machine generally designated 111 in FIGS. 1 and 2, has a carrier plate 11.
  • a drive unit 10 containing an electric motor is fastened to the top of the carrier plate 11.
  • the carrier plate 11 is trapezoidal and has a holder 4 for the pivotable mounting of the guide rod 20 supporting lower part 30 provided.
  • the lower part 30 is fastened with one end of its housing and with a connecting rod 5 pivotably mounted in the lower part 30 in the lower part 30.
  • the guide rod 20 has a handle 6 and an adjustment handle 21 which enables the guide rod to pivot in the holder 4.
  • the carrier plate 11 is spring-mounted in an upper-side opening of a hood-shaped housing 12 so as to be pivotable about an axis formed by two diagonally opposed pivot axes 7, 8.
  • a drive plate 60 with a cleaning and / or polishing disk 61 attached to it is arranged on the inside of the housing 12 below the support plate 11 so as to be rotatable about a substantially vertical axis 9, the axis 9 with the drive unit 10 and thus with the support plate 11 in is essentially rigidly connected.
  • a shaft bearing block 13 is fastened diagonally opposite to the inside of the housing 12 and a slide bearing block 14 on the underside of the carrier plate 11, each of which is connected to one another by means of a pivot axis 7, 8 mounted in a shaft bearing block and a sliding bearing block are connected.
  • the two pivot axes 7 and 8 form the horizontal axis about which the carrier plate 11 can be pivoted.
  • Offset from this in the direction of the guide rod 20, also diagonally opposite, are arranged between the underside of the support plate 11 and spring bearings 59 of the housing 12 projecting into the opening on the top, the support plate 11 supporting compression springs 17.
  • the pressure preload of the compression springs 17 is set such that they hold the carrier plate 11 in an at least approximately horizontal position with respect to the top of the housing 12 and the bottom 22.
  • the housing 12 is circumferentially circular and designed as a machine and chassis housing that three swivel castor holders 40, 41 are attached to it, each with a swivel roller 19.
  • the housing 12 is open on its underside, the circular and flexible drive plate 60 with attached cleaning and / or polishing disk 61 being arranged within the housing 12 such that the cleaning and / or polishing disk 61 with its working surface resting on the floor 22 still protrudes in the vertical direction beyond the lower edge of the housing 12 that covers the circumference thereof.
  • the swivel roller holder 40 is arranged on the front of the housing 12, opposite the guide rod 20.
  • the two other swivel roller holders 41 are fastened on the opposite side of the housing 12 at a distance from one another.
  • the swivel castors 19 are each pivotable about a vertical axis 23.
  • the front swivel castor is furthermore vertically adjustable in the swivel castor holder 40.
  • the swivel roller holder 40 or the swivel roller 19 arranged therein is set in such a way that the cleaning and / or polishing disk 61 rests on the floor 22 almost without pressure.
  • the swivel roller holders 40, 41 with swivel rollers 19 form the swivel roller undercarriage of the floor cleaning machine 111.
  • a bristle trim 51 on the bottom side and a bump or bump guard 52 made of elastic plastic and touching the floor can be adjusted in height arranged.
  • the height adjustability is limited at the top by the swivel roller holders 40, 41 and at the bottom by a bead 42 protruding from the side wall 18.
  • the dust ring 50 encompasses the entire circumference of the housing 12 in the region of the side wall 18 and lies with its bristle trim 51 on the bottom 22.
  • the dust ring 50 is divided by a parting line 53. In the area of the parting line 53, coolers 54 and 55 are arranged on the dust ring and connected by means of a tension spring 58.
  • a guide screw 56 guided in an elongated hole of the holder 55 is provided. Without loosening the guide screw 56, the holders 55 and 54, each fastened on an area of the dust ring 50 adjacent to the parting line 53, must be moved away from one another.
  • the tension spring 58 allows the parting line to be opened, which is sufficient to be able to pull the dust ring 50 off the machine via the bead 42 of the housing 12.
  • the guide screw 56 and the elongated hole of the holder 55 are arranged on the side of the parting line 53 on which the cold 54 is fastened.
  • the holder 55 is fixed to the dust ring on the side adjacent to the parting line 53.
  • the vertically adjustable swivel roller carrier 45 shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 is fastened in the swivel roller holder 40 by means of a threaded rod 47 and an adjusting screw 44 and on lateral guide rods 46.
  • the roller carrier 45 with the swivel roller 19 is continuously adjusted in height in the vertical direction via the threaded rod 47.
  • the height adjustability is supported by a pressure support spring 43 mounted between the swivel roller holder 40 and the swivel roller carrier 45.
  • the floor cleaning machine 111 has a warning light 24, which in the circuit shown in FIG. 8 and originating from a voltage source 25 supplying the floor cleaning machine 111 is switched on or off in a current-dependent or power-dependent manner with the aid of a relay 26.
  • pressing down the guide rod 20 in the direction of the black arrow 27 causes the carrier plate 11 to pivot downward against the spring force of the compression spring 17 and the cleaning and / or polishing disk 61 - as indicated by the arrow 28 - from their horizontal normal position shown in FIGS. 1 and 4 in their circumferential region on the guide rod side pressed more strongly onto the floor 22.
  • the opposite circumferential area of the cleaning and / or polishing disk 61 is raised accordingly.
  • the peripheral region of the cleaning and / or polishing disc 61 facing away from the guide rod is pressed more strongly against the floor, in which case also an - opposite - transverse force is generated, which generates a transverse moment pivoting in the opposite direction.
  • the floor cleaning machine 111 is pivoted with the rotating drive plate 60 in the direction of the upward-pointing arrow in FIG. 2 which is not filled.
