Definitions

  • the invention relates to a storage container for cut flowers according to the preamble of the independent claim.
  • a generic container has become known from FR-A-2 272 914.
  • Cut flowers are usually given to the customer by the florist in flower shops, either wrapped in paper without any moisturizer, or the stems are often wrapped with a water-soaked cotton ball or small sponge.
  • Another known type of fresh-keeping transport consists in small containers which cannot be sealed watertight on the stem and therefore like to leak. At the same time, there is a risk that the edge of these containers will damage the flower stems.
  • flower packaging is known which is provided with a foam or sponge as a liquid reservoir in the area of the bottom, ie the stem ends of packaged cut flowers.
  • foam or sponge as a liquid reservoir in the area of the bottom, ie the stem ends of packaged cut flowers.
  • they are entire packaging systems. They completely encompass complete plants or bouquets of flowers and are therefore actual transport containers with a solid body and accordingly a solid body volume. Transport must always be carried upright, otherwise the water will leak from the liquid storage.
  • DE-U-9'109'363 shows an envelope for cut flowers, plant containers and the like which can be used universally as a covering, packaging and decoration. It consists of two sheets of paper and / or plastic film lying on top of one another, almost congruent. The two foils are connected to one another on two parallel lines in such a way that a channel, that is to say a cavity, is formed between them. A drawstring, a cord or the like is pulled through this cavity. For example, a bouquet of flowers with the stems can be inserted into this envelope, whereupon the envelope is pulled together around the stems with the drawstring and thereby embraces the flowers in the area of the stems. If the envelope is folded over in the lower area before it is drawn together around the flower stems, it completely encompasses the stem ends and fulfills the function of a vase which is suitable for transport.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a transport vase for cut flowers and the like, which stores nutrient liquid and delivers it to flowers as required, without the nutrient liquid running out, regardless of the position.
  • the location independence is important because bouquets of flowers often with the Flowers are carried down and the stems up.
  • An advantage of the invention is that the container requires a minimum volume and weight when not in use.
  • the container can even be carried in a trouser pocket when not in use and can be filled with water or soaked on the spot if necessary to fulfill the function.
  • the production of this type of transport vase is possible in all sizes and colors and is extremely inexpensive.
  • An additional advantage of the invention is that the outside of the container does not become damp or wet and therefore does not dissolve. At the same time, it offers excellent protection for the flower stems against pressure and heat, and conversely, the skin and hands do not get wet, and direct contact with the plant stems is avoided. For example, this can prevent allergic skin reactions caused by certain plants.
  • FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the container in a perspective view.
  • a flexible container consists of a waterproof cover 1, which is coated on the inside 2 with a layer of absorbent material 3, preferably made of cotton-like cellulose.
  • This absorbent material 3 serves as a nutrient storage. It is only soaked with the nutrient liquid before it is actually used.
  • the waterproof cover 1 is not coated with absorbent material 3, but is pre-folded in a fan shape 5, 5 ', 5''. This makes it easier to place flowers because there is a larger opening.
  • the casing 1 is folded in the now coated part 4 in order to better grasp the flowers around the stems.
  • the nutrient liquid is only in the absorbent material 3, from where it is released to the flower stems.
  • the absorbent material 3 can absorb and store a multiple of its own weight in nutrient liquid. Due to the nature of the absorbent material 3, as is known, for example, from diapers, the nutrient liquid is retained leak-proof.
  • a known wetness indicator 7 is arranged, and enables the liquid storage to be checked optically from the outside.
  • the container consists of two, in principle trapezoidal, internally fleece-coated parts of the water-impermeable shell, which are welded or glued on the sides and below like a coffee filter.
  • FIG. 2 Another embodiment is shown in Figure 2.
  • the container is in the form of an envelope or pocket open on one side with an approximately rectangular shape when not in use.
  • a releasable adhesive tape 6 is attached on one side in the upper area, with which the container is pulled together around the flower stems when in use can be secured.
  • Pockets 8 are attached on the front and possibly on the back.
  • the pockets 8 are made of the same film as the envelope itself, but can also be made of a different, wrinkled, thin material. They serve on the one hand to insert small bags of known freshness-keeping agents for cut flowers, on the other hand to insert greeting or business cards, and their dimensions are coordinated with them.
  • the container can be designed in color, and for example the pockets 8 can be printed with an advertising label.
  • a container transport vase is shown in cross-section in the open state.
  • the water-impermeable envelope 1 forms an upwardly open U.
  • the envelope material is drawn as an envelope 13 around the upper ends of the transport vase and is pulled down to a certain extent on the inside. It thus partially encompasses the absorbent material 3 in this area and forms a type of inverted, open channel at the bottom. This channel prevents the water from leaking when holding a bouquet of flowers upside down.
  • a layer of absorbent material 3 is inserted into the pocket-shaped, waterproof cover 1.
  • Cellulose is particularly suitable as the absorbent material, for example in the form of cotton wool, foam, sponge-like material and the like.
  • Absorbent material 3 thanks to its inner Has properties in itself a capillary effect, the liquid distribution additionally promotes.
  • the layer of absorbent material is covered by a porous or perforated film 11.
  • This porous film 11 can be made of plastic with small holes. However, a nonwoven in the manner of a geotextile or a fine fabric is also suitable.
  • the porous film 11 is firmly connected at the upper edge to the edge of the waterproof cover on the inside of the envelope 13 by gluing or welding 12.
  • Water filled into the container is distributed in the absorbent material 3 and can shift to a limited extent within this material.
  • the absorbent material 3 When holding a bouquet of flowers upside down, the water tends to shift downwards. However, it is held back by the waterproof cover in the envelope and prevented from flowing out.
  • an appropriate absorbent material 3 such as a foam, the porous film 11 can be dispensed with.
  • the sleeve 1 is preferably made of a non-slip and tear-resistant and biodegradable material.
  • the absorbent material 3 and the porous film should be made from biodegradable material, if possible, so that the container can be reused and / or recycled.
