Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for laying parquet boards with the aid of a clamping wedge.
  • the clamping wedge is required to ensure on floors enclosed by walls that there is a free space between the respective wall and the adjacent plank. This distance from the wall is important so that the floor can expand sufficiently, for example in high humidity.
  • a wedge is inserted between the first plank or the first parquet individual part and the wall delimiting the floor.
  • the wedge can be placed either lengthways or at the end of the plank.
  • These wedges are tapered wooden wedges.
  • these parquet parts are pressed against the wedges.
  • the pressure is relatively high since joints between the planks or parquet parts, which are generally joined together by means of a tongue and groove connection, should remain as invisible as possible. This laying technique with these wedges proves to be relatively difficult.
  • a screw clamp for laying floorboards has been known from GB-A-341 804 for more than 60 years. Like parquet boards, these planks have tongue and groove. It is only because of their much larger cross-section that the tongue and groove are joined together, as is the case with parquet boards, extremely difficult.
  • a board is therefore attached to floorboards that have already been laid using appropriate screw clamps, with which the next board can be pulled with its tongue into the groove of an already laid board. After the next board is tightly attached to boards that have already been laid, this board is then nailed to the substructure. The last board of a floor to be installed is also laid in this way by pulling it into the last of the existing boards using the screw clamp. Abutments are required to exert the pulling force required when pulling in the boards.
  • the object of the invention is to provide an improved laying technique for parquet boards with which technically perfect laying work can be carried out in the most rational manner possible.
  • the invention is therefore based on the knowledge that, in the case of wedge surfaces aligned in parallel, it is practically impossible for the wedge to jump out of the space between the board and the wall.
  • the fact that the mutual spacing of these two wedge surfaces can be set as desired ensures good handling with this clamping wedge; the desired distance between the plank and the wall can be set as desired, and appropriate devices on the clamping wedge can ensure that this distance does not become smaller when a parquet floor is laid, for example.
  • through scheduled Acting on the clamping part of this minimum distance can be deliberately reduced, so that the clamping wedge can be removed again without problems from the space between the board and wall after completion of the laying work.
  • the clamping wedge can thus be removed from the space between the board and the wall in a non-destructive and undamaged manner. This opens up the possibility of being able to reuse the wedge as often as you like.
  • a clamping wedge with two plate parts, one of which is angled and the other is Z-shaped.
  • the one free leg of the angular plate part represents the one wedge surface with its one outer surface and the one free leg of the Z-shaped plate part represents the other wedge surface with its opposite outer surface.
  • there is a through-hole with an internal screw connection In this internal screw connection, a screw member is screwed in with its one end to different degrees, while its other end can be pressed against the other plate part.
  • this screw member By screwing this screw member into or out of the internal screw connection to different degrees, this screw member projects with its free end to different distances from this plate part in the direction of the other plate part. This allows the distance between the plate parts to be set to different sizes. When pressure forces are exerted on the two plate parts, they are screwed together accordingly kept at a distance. By adjusting the screw member, this distance can be reduced and the clamping wedge can then be easily removed from a space.
  • this clamping wedge or that of its plate parts which is adjacent to the plank to be installed has flat outer surfaces in such a way that the clamping wedge with this outer surface can lie flat on this plank during its use.
  • the wedge rests on one or more planks during use, preventing this one or more planks from buckling out of the plane. If the wedge rests on two planks laid next to each other at the same time, these plank sections are fixed in their exact alignment during the entire laying work. It is particularly effective to arrange such clamping wedges according to the invention in the end area of two end-to-end boards in the space between these two boards and the adjacent wall.
  • a parquet floor 10 consists of a plurality of parquet floorboards 12, each of which is joined by a tongue and groove formation 14, 16. In addition to this tongue and groove formation 14, 16, adhesive bonding can be provided. It is also possible to glue the underside of these parquet flooring boards 12 to a floor 18.
  • "first" planks 12.1, 12.2, 12.3 are started, the grooves 14 of which are aligned with the wall 20 delimiting the floor.
  • a space 22 is left between the "first" planks 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3 and the wall 20. This space 22 is about 15 mm (millimeters) wide and ensures that the floor covering expands, for example in the present case of the parquet floor 10, with a correspondingly high atmospheric humidity.
  • Wedges 24 according to the invention sit in the intermediate space 22, which in the present example are arranged in the region of the end faces 26 of adjacent planks 12.1, 12.2 or 12.3.
  • the wedges 24 have the following design in accordance with their designs shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3.
  • the wedge 24 has an angular part (L-part) 26 and a Z-shaped part 28, which can be mutually adjusted parallel to the transverse orientation Q of the planks 12, as is indicated further below.
  • the L-part 26 has a downwardly projecting leg 30, the flat outside of which forms a wedge surface 32 of the wedge 24. With this wedge surface 32, this L part 26 lies against the wall 20.
  • the other leg 34 of this L part 26 is positioned above the web 36 of the Z part 28.
  • a leg 38 projects downwards, the rear, flat outer side of which, directed away from the leg 30 of the L-part 26, represents the other wedge surface 40. With this wedge surface 40, this leg 38 lies flat against the plank 12 adjacent to the wall 20. In the present case, the leg 38 in the direction of the floor 18 is so long that it at least completely covers the board part 42 present above the groove 14 on the end face.
  • the two wedge surfaces 32, 40 are aligned parallel to one another.
  • a leg 44 projects upward from the web 36. This leg 44 is preferably used to create enough meat for a through hole 46.
  • a guide pin 48 fastened to the L-part 26 is longitudinally displaceable, parallel to the transverse direction Q.
  • the two parts 26, 28 can thereby be mutually adjusted parallel to the transverse direction Q.
  • the distance 50 between the two legs 30, 38 can thereby be set to different sizes in the direction Q.
  • the wedge 24 has two guide bolts 48 and, accordingly, two through holes 46 in the part 28. This ensures that the two parts 26, 28 are adjusted in an angle-accurate manner in a simple manner.
  • this through-hole extends, like the through-holes 46, partly into the leg 38 and partly into the web 36.
  • the through hole 52 is provided with an internal thread 54.
  • a spacer screw 56 is screwed into this through bore with its one end region 58. With its other free end 60, this screw 56 bears against the leg 30 (FIGS. 4, 5).
  • the minimum distance 50 is formed between the two legs 30, 38 of the two parts 26, 28. This minimum distance 50 cannot be reduced without turning the screw 56.
  • the distance 50 does not become smaller when pressure is exerted on the wedge surface 32, 40 from the outside. As stated at the beginning, this pressure arises when laying the planks 12 by the action of pressure forces D (FIG. 1).
  • the wedge 24.1 according to FIG. 4 differs from the wedge 24 in that its spacing screw 56 is arranged below the guide bolt 48.
  • the arrangement of this screw 56 depends on the physical training of the individual parts 26, 28. If the parts 26, 28 are of low height, as can be seen qualitatively from FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, the spacing screw 56 be arranged at approximately the same height between the guide bolts 48 as a rule. In the case of a wedge of higher construction, the spacer screw 56 can be offset in height from the one or more guide bolts 48.
  • the design according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 will be preferred if, as indicated in FIG. 1, adjacent parts of planks 12.1 and 12.2 or 12.2 and 12.3 are to be covered at the same time over a large area by a wedge 24. In the direction L the extent of these wedges 24 will therefore be correspondingly large, so that the spacer screw 56 can be arranged between the guide bolts 48, for example at the same height.
  • the wedge 24.2 shown there also has a leg 70 which is provided on the L-part 26.1 in a cantilevered manner so that the gap 72 between the two parts 26.1 and 28 is covered from above. This prevents dust and dirt from falling into the "inner wedge area”.
  • the wedges 24, 24.1 or 24.2 can be removed from the space 22 (FIG. 2) by turning the screw 56 accordingly.
  • the screw 56 has a bulge 78 provided on the end face for an Allen key. As a result, the size of the distance 50 can be easily adjusted from the outside.
