Definitions
- the invention relates to a level control according to the preamble of the first claim.
- a known level control of this type (EP 0 460 250 A1) has a level sensor with an air trap chamber and a pneumatic pressure switch.
- the air trap chamber detects the pressure conditions in an emptying line which leads from a drain pan arranged below the bottom of a washing container of a dishwasher to an emptying pump.
- the drain line opens from below into a sieve tube located inside the drain pan, which stands between the bottom of the drain pan and the sieve provided with a corresponding central opening and covering the drain pan.
- the level sensor detects the working level in the vertical sieve section.
- the minimum amount of liquid required to start operation is controlled by a separate level switch, which also acts on the water supply valve and, when the minimum liquid level is reached, cuts off the power supply to this solenoid valve and stops the water supply.
- a separate level switch is placed in the control circuit of the water supply valve, which interrupts the circuit for the solenoid valve and switches on a drain pump when a maximum level is reached.
- the invention has for its object to take a level control according to the preamble of the first claim measures by which a minimum amount of flushing fluid required for the proper operation of the circulation pump is controlled.
- the level sensor is arranged so that it Working level in the space between the screen assembly and the jacket of the drain pan detected, the circulating pump sucks the liquid to be circulated from this space.
- the level sensor then signals a switch-on signal to the water supply valve when the working level in this intermediate space, which is necessary for the proper functioning of the circulation pump, is undershot.
- the upper limit of the working level should lie below a sieve falling in a flat funnel shape and covering the drain pan, in order to avoid that dirt particles which are flushed through the sieve to the sieve combination leading centrally downwards and to a connecting piece for an emptying pump do not result from the fine perforation of the sieve Be crushed by suction. Since the cross-section of the drain pan is relatively small, the working tolerance or the switching cycle of the level sensor used for this purpose can lie between the above-mentioned limits without this resulting in a considerable difference in the amount of flushing liquid. In this embodiment, fresh water is thus only refilled if the predetermined working level is undershot due to disturbance variables.
- the amount of water is automatically adjusted depending on the amount of dishes, their wetting and retention capacity of washing liquid, changes in the flow rate, which can occur through the optional operation of one or more spray arms in the washing container, or also on tolerances or changes in the pipe characteristics in the liquid delivery system.
- the disturbance factors are therefore compensated for in a simple manner.
- the level sensor for scanning the working level can also be used to control a minimum amount of water.
- the circulating pump can also be switched on at the beginning of the water supply, but to avoid drying out, it can initially remain switched off until the working level is reached. As soon as the circulation pump is switched on, the liquid level drops below the predetermined working level, so that the water supply valve is automatically opened until the working level is reached.
- a pressure switch with an upstream air trap chamber can be provided as the level sensor, this air trap chamber preferably being arranged manually accessible in the interior of the drain pan and providing access for cleaning purposes, which can be accomplished, for example, by opening or removing the air trap chamber.
- a dishwashing container 1 of a dishwasher which is equipped with dishwasher racks and spray arms (not shown) for receiving items to be washed, has an opening in its bottom 2 which slopes downwards, under which a drain pan 3 is seated.
- the drain pan 3 is covered on its upper side by a fine sieve, which also drops inwards in the manner of a flat funnel and has a central opening 5.
- a sieve arrangement 6 leads from the fine sieve 4 down to the bottom of the drain pan 3, this sieve arrangement consisting, for example, of a coarse sieve, a fine sieve and a very fine sieve.
- a suction line 10 leads radially from the space between the sieve arrangement and the jacket of the drain pan 3 to a circulating pump 11, from which a pressure connection 12 leads via a pipeline (not shown) to at least one spray device in the washing container 1.
- the intake line 10 is preceded by a flow divider, indicated at 13, within the drain pan 3, which can possibly extend over the entire circumference of the drain pan 3 and leaves a suction opening 14 free.
- the flow divider 13 serves to ensure that the amount of liquid drawn from the drain pan 3 is as uniform as possible for the individual To withdraw sectors.
- An air trap chamber 15 is also provided within the drain pan 3, which chamber is open at the bottom and ends at least just above the bottom 9.
- a connecting line 16 leads from the air trap chamber 15 to a pressure switch 17, the switching device of which controls the control circuit for the solenoid 18 of a water inlet valve 19 designed as an electromagnetic valve.
- the water inlet valve lies in a fresh water line 20 which, after the water inlet valve, opens into the rinsing container 1 or also into the drain pan 3 or other line parts connected therewith in flow connection.
- the air trap chamber 15 forms with the pressure switch 17 a level sensor for which other components having the same effect can of course also be used, for example electrical contact paths or optical level sensors with an associated switching device.
- the level sensor 15, 17 signals the lack of a sufficient liquid level in the drain pan 3 of the need for fresh water and therefore switches the water inlet valve 19 into the open state via the solenoid 18, so that fresh water enters the rinsing container 1 and thus runs into the drain pan 3.
- the water supply must be maintained at least until a minimum working level is reached, which is indicated at 21. This minimum working level is set so that the circulation pump 11 does not suck in air.
- the level can continue to rise until the water inlet valve is switched off and rise to just below the lower edge of the fine screen 4 in the region of the central opening 5, as indicated at 22.
- the minimum working level 21 and the maximum Working level 22 corresponds to the switching hysteresis of level sensor 15, 17.
- the level sensor 15, 17 switches the water inlet valve 19 again in the open position until the upper working level is reached again.
- the difference between the two working levels can be relatively large because the amount of water in between is correspondingly small due to the relatively small dimensions of the drain pan and can be neglected compared to the total amount of liquid for a wash cycle.
- a less precise and simpler level sensor 15, 17 can be used for this.
- the level sensor can have normal, customary tolerances for pressure switch switches. The liquid level in the drain pan is thus kept constant within the switching tolerances, the minimum working level having to be above the highest section of the suction opening for the circulation pump.
