Definitions

  • the invention relates to a one-piece blow molded package, e.g. Bottle, made of plastic, and closure lid for this packaging, the packaging having a neck, a spout connected to the neck via a flexible intermediate piece, and an annular space arranged between the neck and the spout, as a drip catcher.
  • a one-piece blow molded package e.g. Bottle, made of plastic, and closure lid for this packaging, the packaging having a neck, a spout connected to the neck via a flexible intermediate piece, and an annular space arranged between the neck and the spout, as a drip catcher.
  • Blow molded bottles have found a wide range of applications. They usually consist of a plastic, e.g. Polyethylene, which poses no problems with disposal. Polyethylene can be recycled or is a high-energy fuel in waste incineration that does not produce any pollutants, but only water vapor and carbon dioxide.
  • the known plastic bottles are partly produced with an integrated spout and partly with an inserted spout.
  • a pouring spout is usually used when there are special requirements with regard to pouring out the liquid. For example, it may be required that air can continuously enter the bottle during pouring, so that the liquid flows out smoothly without chuckling, so that it can be dosed well. Furthermore, it may be required that there is an annular space around the spout, into which liquid flowing down the spout after the pouring can flow and can flow back into the bottle through an opening without soiling the thread for the bottle cap.
  • a bottle with an inserted spout has the disadvantage that an expensive injection mold is also required to produce the spout. Furthermore, a spout used requires a high degree of accuracy. However, it is not easy to achieve narrow tolerances for the inside diameter of the bottle neck because there may be slight deviations in the wall thickness during blow molding. However, if the inside diameter of the bottle neck is too large, there is a risk that the spout will fall out when using the bottle, which can result in very unpleasant consequences and dangers. Another disadvantage is that after blow molding Bottle an assembly operation to insert the spout is necessary. Errors can still arise here, for example, by inserting the spout with the air hole away from the handle on a handle bottle.
  • DE-A-38 20 428 where a spout with a thread is screwed onto a bottle neck, can be cited as an example of a bottle with a spout inserted.
  • This spout has a spout, which is referred to as a dispensing cylinder. Between this pouring part and the bottle neck there is an annular space into which residual liquid flows after use of the bottle and can flow back into the bottle via a return opening.
  • EP-A-0 378 047 discloses a method for producing a hollow body with a one-piece molded drip catcher, in which a preform is first produced by an injection molding or pressing process, on which a drip catcher is directly molded.
  • the drip catcher consists of a pouring spout and a collecting channel surrounding it.
  • the collecting trough is in turn surrounded by a wall which has an external thread for fitting a closure cap.
  • a return opening is created which connects the collecting channel to the interior of the hollow body.
  • the manufacture of such a preform requires a relatively expensive tool.
  • EP-A-0 417 954 describes a process for producing a one-piece blow molded package, e.g. a bottle, described, with which it is possible to retain the most important advantages of a bottle with a subsequently inserted spout or by integrally molded drip catcher.
  • a one-piece blow molded package e.g. a bottle, described
  • an intermediate piece is formed between the neck and the spout during blow molding and then the spout is pushed into the neck, as a result of which the intermediate piece is turned inside out to form an annular space within the neck.
  • US-A-2 895 654 describes a container in which a flexible spout is inserted which can be sunk into the container when not in use.
  • the spout is provided with a thread on which a cap can be screwed.
  • This cap is provided with a loop-shaped handle. By inserting a finger into the loop-shaped handle, the flexible spout can be pulled out of the lowered position with the closure cap.
  • the container consists of two parts and that a drip catcher is missing.
  • Another disadvantage is that the thread for the cap is provided on the spout itself, so that there is a risk that the thread is contaminated by escaping liquid. This can lead to the cap being stuck after screwing on and can no longer be loosened or only with great effort.
  • the spout has a coupling section and in that a coupling device is arranged on the outside of the closure cover, which can be coupled to the coupling section of the spout in order to pull the spout out of the neck.
  • the sealing lid can be coupled to the spout and the spout pulled out of the neck. This ensures that only minimal amounts of the packaging content are incurred when the packaging is disposed of. This not only saves on the contents of the packaging, but is also important when the used packaging is recycled. When recycling plastic bottles, it is important that the waste material is not mixed with large amounts of foreign substances that adversely affect the quality of the material obtained through such recycling. Since the cover serves as a pull-out tool, you don't get dirty fingers when pulling out.
  • the coupling section of the packaging is formed by a bulge in the inner wall of the spout and the coupling device of the closure cover has a section that fits into the bulge. This allows the pouring part to be pulled out of the packaging in a simple manner.
  • Different configurations of the bulge of the inner wall of the spout are possible.
  • the bulge of the inner wall of the spout is advantageously groove-shaped. This shape can be created with simple means when the package is blow molded.
  • the coupling device of the closure cover can then be designed as a conical pin.
  • the coupling section on the spout of the packaging by means of a thread.
  • the coupling device of the closure cover can consist of a thread that can be screwed to the thread of the spout.
  • the coupling device is expediently arranged on the outside of the closure cover.
  • the arrangement of the coupling device on the top of the sealing cover has proven to be particularly advantageous. This creates a pleasant coaxial arrangement.
  • the closure lid can expediently be placed on the outside of the neck of the packaging. This enables a stable connection between the packaging and the sealing cover.
  • the sealing cover expediently has a sealing cone on the inside in the region of the neck of the packaging. This ensures a good seal.
  • the sealing cap designed in this way can serve as a measuring cup, the thread normally not coming into contact with the liquid content.
  • the closure cover can be designed as a screw cover. The packaging can then have a thread on the neck for screwing on the sealing cover.
  • the plastic bottle 10 shown in the drawing e.g. Polyethylene or polypropylene is made by blow molding. After blow molding, the bottle 10 has a shape as can be seen in FIG. 3. In a further operation, the intermediate piece 13 is then turned inside out to form an annular space 15 (FIG. 1). The method for producing such a bottle is the subject of WO 92/01551.
  • the finished bottle essentially consists of the bottle body 17, the neck 19 and the spout 21. Between the neck 19 and the spout 21 and the inverted intermediate piece 13 there is the annular space 15, which has an opening 23 at the bottom. This opening 23 serves as an air inlet opening during pouring. After the bottle has been used, residual liquid can flow from the annular space 15 through the opening 23 into the interior 25 of the bottle.
  • a thread 27 is provided on the neck 19 for screwing on the closure cover 29 and has a thread 31.
  • the closure cap 29 is advantageously also made of plastic and is provided with a thread 31 which fits on the thread 27 of the bottle.
  • the closure cap 29 has a sealing cone 33 which ensures a good seal.
  • a sealing edge 35 can be provided in addition to or instead of the sealing cone 33.
  • a coupling device 37 is integrally formed on top of the closure cover 19. However, it would also be possible to arrange the coupling device 37 at a different location on the outside of the closure cover 29.
  • the coupling device 37 has in the illustrated embodiment the shape of a cone-shaped pin.
  • a coupling section in the form of a groove-shaped bulge 39 of the inner wall of the spout 21 corresponds to this pin 37.
  • the closure cover 29 can be used as a tool for pulling out the spout 21.
  • it is inserted with little effort with the conical pin 37 into the spout 21, as shown in Fig. 2.
  • the conical pin 37 is held in the groove-shaped bulge 39. If pulling on the closure cap 29 is thus carried out, the spout 21 is pulled out of the neck 13, whereupon the closure cap 29 (FIG. 3) can be uncoupled again by tilting it. With the spout 21 pulled out (FIG. 3), the bottle can then be completely emptied.
  • the coupling section on the spout 21 can thus be formed by a thread, a corresponding thread then also being provided on the closure cover instead of a cone 37.
