Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fuel distributor for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines of the type defined in the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a fuel rail is known from DE 37 30 571 A1 or from DE 32 28 508 A1.
  • the attachment to the internal combustion engine takes place via webs or flanges with through holes arranged on the distributor housing, through which a screw is passed and screwed on the internal combustion engine side.
  • the working noises of the fuel injection valves and the pressure pulsations which are caused by the timing of the fuel injection valves, are transmitted to the adjacent components, such as the intake manifold of the internal combustion engine, and lead to unpleasant noise in the engine compartment of the motor vehicle.
  • an elastic ring is provided in a known so-called top-feed fuel injection valve (DE 28 27 850 A1), which is inserted directly into a connecting piece on the intake manifold and is enclosed by a holder clamped on the intake manifold, which non-positively surrounds the fuel injection valve is placed and on which the holder engages.
  • the fuel distributor according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that it is largely sound-decoupled from the adjacent components even in the design with a distributor housing which receives a number of fuel injection valves in fuel-flushed receiving bores corresponding to the number of cylinders of the internal combustion engine. As a result, extensive noise reduction in the engine compartment of the vehicle is achieved even when using a fuel distributor of the type described in the introduction.

  • the elastic sleeve is inserted in mutually aligned through bores in the distributor housing and hold-down device, and the clamping element penetrates the sleeve with radial pressure on the sleeve against the bore walls and overlaps the sleeve with a clamping shoulder, the diameter of which is not greater than the outside diameter of the sleeve.
  • the clamping element consists of a clamping screw and a metallic spacer sleeve surrounding the screw shaft.
  • the spacer sleeve abuts the screw head and the mounting flange of the intake manifold so that the fuel rail can be attached to the mounting flange of the intake manifold with a defined torque.
  • the diameter of the screw head is slightly smaller than the diameter of the elastic sleeve surrounding the spacer sleeve, so that the vibrating metal character is retained.
