Claims (20)

  1. Pallet for transporting horizontally stacked panes, especially automobile panes, which possesses a carrying plate, four vertical posts at the corners and at least one presser device acting from above on the stack of panes for holding it against the plate, characterized in that the presser device is constituted of a rigid arm (20; 75), substantially horizontal and adapted for sliding at one end on an upright member (21; 53, 54; 80) to be blocked there in a chosen position, and equipped at its other end with a member (33, 34; 89, 90) pressing the stack (16).
  2. Pallet according to Claim 1, characterized in that the upright members (21) supporting the arms (20) are placed between two successive corner posts (6, 7) in their plane.
  3. Pallet according to Claim 2, characterized in that said upright members (21) are removably mounted on horizontal beams (10, 27) connecting together two successive posts, and can be fixed there in various positions.
  4. Pallet according to Claim 1, characterized in that corner posts serve as upright members (21) for supporting the arms.
  5. Pallet according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the arm is stopped on the upright member by a gripping connection acting by lever effect under the reaction of the stack of panes to the force exerted on it.
  6. Pallet according to Claim 5, characterized in that the gripping connection combines, below the rear end of the arm, a ring (22; 62; 78) surrounding the upright member and, above this end, a complementary bearing face (25; 61; 79).
  7. Pallet according to Claim 6, characterized in that the ring (22) is articulated to the pressing arm (20) at an axis (23).
  8. Pallet according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the arm (20) is adjustable in length.
  9. Pallet according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the device (33, 34) pressing the stack (16) comprises a screw jack.
  10. Pallet according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the device (89, 90) pressing the stack comprises a lever (83) articulated about an axis (82) on the rear segment (76) of the arm (75), in bearing against which a slide (92) acting between it and this rear segment jams it in the working position.
  11. Pallet according to Claim 10, characterized in that the lever (83) continues beyond the fixing point (85) of the pressing member by a section (84) forming a handle for pressing it downwards.
  12. Pallet according to one of Claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the pressing member is composed of a bar (88) carrying two bearing plates spaced apart from one another, the bar being mounted on the arm (75).
  13. Pallet according to one of Claims 1 to 12, characterized in that it is provided with a fixing (65) for holding the arm at rest after pivoting.
  14. Pallet according to one of Claims 1 to 13, characterized in that support studs (15, 60) of rubber-type material are mounted on the carrying plate in positions that can be adjusted according to the shape and dimensions of the articles carried.
  15. Pallet according to Claim 14, characterized in that the plate comprises carrying straight-edges (4; 37) provided with openings into which the studs can be inserted.
  16. Pallet according to Claim 15, characterized in that the studs are composed of a plate bearing by a swivel joint (43) on a base held in a groove of the straight-edge.
  17. Pallet according to Claim 14, characterized in that the plate comprises a grating (59), into the apertures of which the support studs (60) can be inserted.
  18. Pallet according to one of Claims 1 to 17, characterized in that it possesses spacer stacking elements (17) to be placed between the successive glass sheets.
  19. Pallet according to Claim 18, characterized in that said stacking elements are constituted of vertical pins (69), onto which the spacers, having a median hole (70), are threaded.
  20. Pallet according to Claim 19, characterized in that said pins are disposed on arms (68) pivoting horizontally on the front posts (52; 55) and which can be locked in position there by a peg (72).
