Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective suit, for example a one-piece chemical protective suit or heat protective suit, as described for example in FR-A-2 509 991.
- Chemical protective suits and also heat protective suits are usually made in one size. For fire brigades, this is provided, for example, in VFDB guideline 0801 and DIN 14492 so that an operator with a height of 1.90 m can wear the respective suit.
- this object is achieved by a strap which can be connected to the protective suit and is adjustable in length on the inside, at least in the crotch area, in such a way that in the wearing position it runs essentially vertically inside the protective suit and encloses the body of the user.
- the essential function of the length-adjustable shoulder strap is that the distance from the shoulders to the crotch area of the operator can be adjusted precisely so that the protective suit is connected to the crotch area by means of a connection, for example a loop, in the length that is set of the riser predetermined position is fixed so that the full stride of the operator is retained when wearing the protective suit.
- the shoulder strap In addition to the "step-freeness" actually achieved despite the protective suit, the shoulder strap also has an essential additional function in that a large part of its own weight is carried out via its "suspension" in the crotch area (for example via the loop) and the guidance of the shoulder strap over the two shoulders as "support points" of the protective suit (which, depending on the version, can have a considerable weight) is "redirected" to the shoulders of the operator.
- a head part with a protective screen is also molded on
- This is of considerable advantage, since with previous solutions practically the entire weight of the protective suit rests on the head of the operator, which is uncomfortable and tiring and can therefore also impair the usability .
- the protective suit according to the invention with the shoulder strap thus relieves the head and neck area of the operator by absorbing at least a large part of the weight of the protective suit by the operator's shoulders, which is far less problematic from a health standpoint.
- the carrying strap 10 consists, for example, of a 50 mm wide and 1.5 mm thick plastic fabric tape, which is tear-resistant and possibly heat-resistant.
- V-shaped end parts 10B, 10C are connected to its middle part 10A via distributing pieces 12A, 12B, which also serve for reinforcement.
- the two legs of the shorter end part 10B are provided with an adhesive covering 11A, the two leg ends of the longer end part 10C are provided on their underside with a corresponding fleece covering 11B such that when the legs of the end region 10C are placed on their associated legs of the end region 10B, a Velcro fastener is formed.
- the function of this shoulder strap 10 is as follows (Fig. 2):
- the carrying belt 10 is put on in such a way that it encircles the body of the operator, using the Velcro fastener 11A, 11B in the chest area B comes to rest, the effective length of the shoulder strap 10 and thus the height of the crotch area of the protective suit 20 can be determined.
- this sets the distance X between the shoulder area S1 / S2 and the crotch area S of the deployment person and thus the correct suit seat in the "step" for each deployment person.
- the Velcro fasteners have the advantage that there are no pressure points and the belt is comfortable to wear. Another advantage is the fact that every type of protective suit can be retrofitted with the carrying strap according to the invention at any time by attaching suitable loops or similar holding elements.
