Definitions

  • the invention relates to a flat contact spring for plugs of electrical plug-in connectors, which has crimp attachments for connecting electrical conductors and a recess which supports a spring housing-fixed retaining tongue with its edge surfaces, the flat contact spring being formed by a sheet metal blank having a first section having a central strip and longitudinal edge strips which can be opened thereon, whose longitudinal edge strips have cutouts adjoining the edge edges which, when the longitudinal edge strips are unfolded on the median strips, together form an undercut provided with undercuts, additional to the aforementioned recess, and with a second section with a central strip and longitudinal edge strips, the longitudinal edge strips of which have hook-shaped gates.
  • a flat contact spring (US-A-4691981) of the above type, which can be erected from a sheet metal blank, has longitudinal edge strips which can be folded open onto a central part.
  • a disadvantage of this flat contact spring is a more or less uncontrolled pivoting back of the longitudinal edge strips, which makes the flat contact spring unstable and gives rise to difficulties in contacting.
  • the flat contact spring has a recess in the central part and congruent recess parts in the area of the edge edges of the longitudinal edge strips, but these serve only to accommodate a deflection which is fixed to the spring housing and acts as a retaining tongue.
  • this object is achieved in that the hook-shaped gates, when the longitudinal edge strips are unfolded on the median strips, engage positively together in the recess of the longitudinal edge strips of the first section to fix the longitudinal edge strips of the first and second sections.
  • the doubling of the flat contact spring allows an easily cut thin sheet metal material to be used and by the undercuts behind the hook-shaped gates, the unfolded longitudinal edge strips are prevented from unintentional swiveling back.
  • the first section in the center strip and the longitudinal edge strips of the same can have indentations on the edge edges on the same side, which, when the longitudinal strip strips are unfolded on the center strip, form groove-like deposits on both sides of the flat contact spring.
  • the deposits perform guiding functions during the plug-in process and also enable the flat contact spring to interact with different sockets Width and opening widths, with the possibility that contacts may be made only over the areas of the deposits or else over the flat contact spring areas extending next to the deposits.
  • the second section in the median strip has a recess in the middle and the longitudinal edge strips of the second section in the regions of the marginal edges have recesses with half the width of the central strip recess and that when the longitudinal edge strips are opened on the central strip, the recesses of the same together with the recess of the central strip form a recess with the same axis, the edge edges of which can be brought into effect with spring tongues fixed to the spring housing.
  • the central strips and the longitudinal edge strips of the first section are delimited at their free ends in the plane of the section and at the edge edges by inclined surfaces.
  • the inclined surfaces can be formed by grinding or pressing the free ends.
  • the flat strip facilitates handling of the sheet metal blanks, in particular over the duration of the pushing-in and bending processes or during further processing, e.g. B. galvanic metal orders.
  • the flat contact springs can also be rolled up by rolling up the flat strips store and transport in a space-saving manner, whereby by separating the flat contact springs from the flat strip they are freely available.
  • the process steps are that the two sections are cut from a flat, thin sheet material with central strips and longitudinal edge strips and crimp connections, the central strips and the longitudinal edge strips of the first section are provided with indentations, and the longitudinal edge strips of both sections are opened onto the central strips of the same and through When the hook-shaped sections of the second section engage in the sections of the first section, the longitudinal edge strips are fixed together.
  • the flat contact spring 1 of FIG. 1 can be erected from a sheet metal blank according to FIG. 2.
  • the sheet metal blank 2 has a first section 3 with a central strip 4 and longitudinal edge strips 5 and 6 arranged on both sides thereof.
  • the longitudinal edge strips 5 and 6 are provided with cutouts 7, 7 'adjoining the edge edges of the longitudinal edge strips.
  • the sheet metal blank has a second section 8 which has a central strip 9 and on both sides longitudinal edge strips 10 and 11 with hook-shaped cuts 12 and 13.
  • the sheet metal blank is also included Approaches 14, 15 provided that form crimp approaches after bending.
  • the sheet metal blank 2 is connected in one piece via a web 16 to a flat strip 17, in which are formed in transport openings 18 and coding openings 19 for determining the distance to adjacent sheet metal blanks.
  • the edge strips 5 and 6 can be folded up about bending lines 20 onto the central strip 4, the cutouts 7, 7 'jointly resulting in a recess with undercuts 21.
  • the hook-shaped cuts 12, 13 engage together in this recess and fix the longitudinal edge strips 5, 6, 10, 11 of both sections which are opened onto the central strips 4, 9 3, 8.
  • the hook-shaped gates 12, 13 are supported on the undercuts 21.
  • a recess 22 in the median strip 9 of the second section 8 and recesses 23, 23 'of half the width provided in the longitudinal marginal strips 10, 11 form a common recess when the longitudinal marginal strips 10, 11 are opened on the median strip 9, the boundary surfaces 24 of which as support surfaces for housing-fixed retaining tongues (not shown) can be used.
  • the free ends of the central strip 4 and the longitudinal edge strips 5, 6 of the first section 3 are provided with bevels 25, 26 which enable the flat contact spring 1 to be inserted easily into the socket body (not shown).
  • the bevels 26 can be achieved by cutouts 28 in the sheet metal blank.
  • Fig. 3 shows that the median strip 4 and the longitudinal edge stiffeners 5, 6 of the first section 3 have impressions 27, 27 ', which before the folding process are brought in from one side.
  • the indentations 27, 27 ' result in a groove-shaped thin point and allow the interaction of the flat contact spring 1 with socket bodies of various designs and opening widths.
  • the indentations 27, 27 ' perform a management function over the duration of the mating processes.
