Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for decanting a liquid according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • FR-A-2 415 443 proposes a rocker that is pivotally mounted about a pivot axis and into which the full wine bottle is inserted. The tilt of the rocker is changed by means of a spindle that can be rotated by a crank, so that the wine can gradually flow out of the bottle.
  • This device is unwieldy.
  • the swivel axis is not at the bottle mouth, which means that the hand with the carafe must constantly follow the inclined bottle mouth.
  • Another disadvantage is that decanting the wine is even more time consuming than when it is done by hand.
  • the present invention has for its object to provide a device for decanting, which allows perfect decanting with minimal practice and time.
  • the cross strut 8 is bent downwards and fastened at the ends to sliding bodies 9 which are mounted on the runners 1 and 2 so as to be longitudinally displaceable.
  • the sliding bodies 9 on the runners 1 and 2 can be released and locked by means of set screws 10.
  • the crossbar 6 designed in the manner of a stirrup forms at its upper end a saddle 11 which acts as a support for a carafe or bottle neck serves.
  • the cross strut 4 is curved downwards and the cross strut 3 is curved upwards. Together they form a holder for receiving the balloon of a carafe, which (see FIGS.
  • the downwardly bent cross strut 8 in turn forms the support for a full wine bottle, which in turn can be supported with its mouth against the saddle 11.
  • the cradle is placed on a horizontal, flat surface and a carafe 12 with the balloon is placed in the support formed by the cross struts 3 and 4 and supported with its mouth on the saddle 11.
  • a full, uncorked wine bottle 13 is placed with its coat against the cross strut 8 and gradually inclined with the mouth to the mouth of the carafe 12 and supported there.
  • the support can, as will be shown later (FIG. 6), be carried out by means of an outlet pin.
  • the radius of curvature of the runners 1 and 2 becomes smaller from left to right in FIGS. 1 to 3. This makes the cradle less sensitive to loads on the right side than to loads on the left side.
  • This rough taring ensures that after the empty carafe 12 and the full wine bottle 13 (FIG. 2) have been inserted, the cradle assumes an initial equilibrium position in which the level 14 of the wine in the wine bottle 13 is at least slightly higher than the mouth of the carafe 12 and the wine can gradually pour into the carafe.
  • Optimal balancing is achieved by loosening the set screws 10 and adjusting the cross strut 8. This adjustment is only necessary once for a specific bottle type.
  • the initial equilibrium position is established about the axis 18, in which the moment P1. a1 equal to the moment P2. a2 is. Since the liquid level 14 is higher than the carafe mouth 12, the wine gradually flows into the carafe 12. The gravitational forces P1, P2 acting on the center of gravity of the wine bottle 13 and the carafe 12 produce opposing moments with respect to the axis 18. During the overflow, the moment on the side of the carafe 12 increases despite the axis 18 shifting to the left, as a result of which it lowers and maintains the level 14 of the liquid above the carafe mouth 12. This ensures a continuous overflow of the liquid.
  • the level line 14 of the liquid lies at the level of the bottle shoulder, that is, the transition to the bottle neck 15, so that the remaining residue 16 remains with the sediment in the wine bottle 13 (FIG. 3). If it turns out that the wine deposit in the wine residue 16 is comparatively small, the residual liquid 16 (FIG. 3) can be decanted further into the carafe on the carafe side with gentle finger pressure on one of the runners 1, 2 until predominantly only the residue to be separated remains located in the wine bottle 13.
  • a holder 17 for a candle is attached to the cross strut 7, with which the wine bottle 13 can be illuminated from below.
  • a bridge 19 is firmly connected to a leaf spring 20 with a rectangular cross section.
  • the leaf spring foot is fixed and clamped vertically in a horizontal base 21.
  • the bridge 19 consists of two parallel, spaced-apart supports, which are firmly connected to one another by cross struts 22 to 25. It is further provided with a support saddle 26, which has the same function as the cross strut 6 in the first example.
  • the cross struts 24 and 25 serve as supports for the carafe 12, which is supported with its neck on the saddle 26.
  • the cross struts 22 and 23 form the support for the wine bottle 13, which is supported with its mouth in that of the carafe 12.
  • This exemplary embodiment is also balanced such that after the carafe 12 and the wine bottle 13 have been inserted, an initial equilibrium position is established in which the liquid level 14 is located above the neck of the carafe 12. As the liquid overflows, the leaf spring 20, which is bent to the right, gradually rises to the vertical alignment and then slowly bends against the side of the carafe 12 to be filled. During this change in the equilibrium position, the level 14 is always higher than the carafe mouth. When the final equilibrium position is reached, the level 14 of the residual liquid 16 is again at the level of the transition to the bottle neck.
  • the bridge 19 is of the same design as in the example according to FIG. 4. However, it is fastened to an upwardly extending U-bracket 27, which is pivotally articulated on a fixed axis 28.
  • This device also assumes an initial equilibrium position after inserting the empty carafe 12 and the full wine bottle 13, in which the liquid level 14 lies above the mouth of the carafe neck, so that the liquid can flow over it.
  • the bridge 19 and the bracket 27 form a lever balance.
  • the cross struts 22 to 25 are the scales. As the wine overflows, the moments around axis 28 gradually change until the final equilibrium is reached. As shown in FIG. 3, a remainder 16 of the wine remains in the wine bottle 13 therein.
  • the decanting process can be continued by manual intervention if the conditions so require.
  • the right lever arm carrying the wine bottle 13 is made shorter than the left one.
  • a stop can be provided (indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 5) which forces a starting position in which the liquid level 14 lies above the carafe mouth. It should be provided that when the wine overflows, the device is released from the stop and can strive for the final equilibrium. When changing the equilibrium position, the liquid level 14 must always be kept above the carafe mouth.
  • a carafe is shown and described as an empty vessel in all examples, a clean, empty wine bottle or the like can be used in its place.
  • a serving bar 29, known per se, on the wine bottle 13 proved to be advantageous.
  • This dispensing spigot has a conical stopper 30 which is axially penetrated by an outlet pipe 31.
  • a ventilation pipe 32 is guided lengthwise, the outside diameter of which is considerably smaller than the inside diameter of the outlet pipe 31.
  • the outside of the plug 30 is covered by a diaphragm 33 which is firmly connected to the outlet pipe 31.
  • the ventilation pipe 32 projects beyond the outlet pipe 31 in the interior of the wine bottle 13.
  • a one-piece pipe extension or a flexible hose piece 34 into the area of the bottle shoulder, such that its free end in the case of a strongly inclined wine bottle 13 lies in the area of the captured air bubble 35.
  • the advantage of a flexible piece of hose is that it automatically curves upwards when the air enters. A pulsating exit of the wine from the wine bottle 13 is thus avoided and a completely uniform outflow is achieved. A swirling of the escaping wine through air bubbles is avoided.
