Definitions
- the invention relates to a punched knitting tool for textile machines, in particular knitting and knitting machines, with a shaft which has at least one foot and at least two guide parts which run continuously from the upper edge of the shaft to the lower edge of the shaft, one of which is arranged below a foot and both of which are narrow Web on the upper edge of the shaft and on the lower edge of the shaft are connected to one another, at least one of the two webs having a height of at most 1.1 mm and by both webs together with the guide parts associated therewith a recess in the shaft designed as free space is limited, which is filled with a vibration-damping material that is firmly connected to the shaft.
- Knitting tools are to be understood here as tongue needles, point needles, slide needles, needles without tongue, for example plush hooks for the manufacture of plush goods, and sinkers etc.
- Knitting tools of this type are known from DE-A-33 14 809 and DE-A-37 06 856 (EP-A-0282 647). Because of the very low height of at most 1.1 mm narrow webs through which adjacent guide parts are connected to each other, such knitting tools are highly elastic structures, the vibration behavior of which is particularly advantageously influenced in operation by the fact that the at least one recess provided in the shaft and designed as a space with a vibration-damping Material is filled.
- This vibration-damping material is preferably plastic, for example a polyamide, which is firmly anchored on the edge of the shaft material. It allows the working speed to be increased and the long-term behavior to be improved in such a way that the risk of web breaks due to material fatigue or hook breaks is largely eliminated.
- the object of the invention is therefore to remedy this and to create a highly elastic knitting tool of the type mentioned at the outset, which has at least one free space in its shank filled with a vibration-damping material and its elastic properties and vibration behavior similar to the embodiments with at least one with vibration-damping material are filled, open edge space in the shaft and which, however, is characterized by an extended service life when used under difficult working conditions, in particular at very high working speeds.
- this object is achieved in that at least one web is completely severed by a transverse slot extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the shaft, the slot width of which is less than 30% of the length of the severed web.
- the shock-like stresses exerted on the foot of the knitting tool during operation such as, for example, from the lock of a knitting or knitting machine Control strokes exerted on the foot originate from a single narrow web, which, due to its limited web height of at most 1.1 mm, converts the shock-like loading force acting on the foot into transverse bending vibrations and, in cooperation with the plastic filling, so dampens that No broken hooks can occur, while on the other hand the largely all-round binding of the plastic filling the free space to the surrounding surface areas of the shaft provides excellent stability of the entire knitting tool, and here in particular the thin web section e, guaranteed.
- both webs delimiting the respective recess have a maximum height of 1.1 mm.
- embodiments are also conceivable in which only the unslit web opposite the transverse slot has such a small height of at most 1.1 mm has, while the web cut through the transverse slot is formed with different dimensions. Since the influence of the severed web on the vibration behavior of the knitting tool is limited because of the transverse slot, good results can also be achieved with these embodiments, depending on the conditions of use of the knitting tool.
- the bridge length depends on the design of the knitting tool and the conditions under which it works. Appropriately, however, the web length should be at least 5 mm so that the narrow web of at most 1.1 mm in height can develop a sufficient elastic effect.
- a transverse slot can advantageously be arranged in a web lying on the lower edge of the shaft, but there are also knitting tools in which it is expedient to provide a transverse slot in a web lying on the upper edge of the shaft.
- the arrangement can advantageously be such that there are at least two recesses lying next to one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the shaft and transverse slots are alternately arranged in a web located on the lower shaft edge and in a web located on the upper shaft edge are.
- the transverse slot is provided approximately in the middle of the axial longitudinal extent of the respective severed web.
- the transverse slot in the severed web is then arranged on or close to a guide part connected to the web, which optionally supports a foot.
- the transverse slot can be formed by a shape-like, slot-like opening in the web, which is delimited by smooth, preferably mutually parallel cutting surfaces.
- the transverse slot can, however, also be designed to open outward from the respective recess and / or have an approximately V-shaped cross-sectional shape.
- the vibration-damping material which consists in particular of a suitable plastic, can as a rule be anchored with sufficient security to the web and guide subareas that line the respective recess with sufficient adhesive strength, without additional measures being necessary.
- at least one web and / or guide partial area delimiting cutout can also have anchoring means for the vibration-damping material filling the cutout.
- anchoring means can be, for example, profiles or molded projections projecting into the vibration-damping material and the like in the area of the recess edge.
- the slot width of the respective transverse slot is less than about 30% of the length of the severed web.
- the transverse slot can also be made so narrow that its slot width at the narrowest point is in the range from 0.05 to 0.1 mm.
- the cross slot itself is usually "open", i.e. not filled with vibration damping material. If, however, it is important to have a smooth, continuous edge of the knitting tool also in the area of the respective cross slot, the cross slot can be filled with the vibration-damping material - or another elastic material.
- the latch needles shown in FIGS. 1 and 5 each have a head or hook 1, which is followed by a neck 2, which merges into the needle face 3, in the area of which a longitudinal slot is arranged in the usual manner, in which a needle tongue 4 is pivotally mounted.
- the tongue bearing is indicated at 5.
- the shaft 7 Connected to the throat 6 is the shaft 7, which carries a needle foot 8 and which can additionally (FIG. 1) be provided with one or more (here three) pattern feet 9.
- each pattern foot 9 - there is in each case a continuous guide part 12 from the upper shaft edge 10 to the lower shaft edge 11, which is delimited by a dashed line 13 in FIG. 5 for better clarity .
- Another such guide part 12 which is considerably narrower in the embodiment according to FIG. 5, adjoins the throat 6 in each case.
- a (relatively wide) guide part 12 is also provided on the end of the shaft 7 opposite the head or hook 1.
- an elongated, continuous free space 15 is formed between two adjacent guide parts 12, with its longitudinal axis parallel to the needle shaft symmetry line 14 an elongated recess in the shaft 7.
- the free space 15 is delimited at the top (needle shaft top) and bottom (needle back) by a narrow web 16, the height of which is indicated at 170 in FIG. 2 is at most 1.1 mm and which is at least 5 mm long.
- An elastic, vibration-damping material 17 is arranged in each of the free spaces 15 delimited by two guide parts 12 and the two narrow webs 16 assigned to them, which is firmly connected to the shaft material (steel) surrounding it.
- This vibration-damping material is in particular a plastic, preferably a polyamide; however, other elastic materials, including metals, for example aluminum, can also be used for this purpose.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 1 differs from that according to FIG. 5 in that several elongated free spaces 15 are formed in the shaft 7, which are arranged in the direction of the shaft longitudinal axis 14 at the distance given by a guide part 12. Each of the free spaces 15 is filled with the vibration-damping material 17, which is firmly connected to the edge of the shaft material.
- transverse slot 18 can in itself through a shape-like, slot-like opening be formed, but in the illustrated embodiments the arrangement is such that the transverse slot 18 has a cross-sectional shape widening outwards from the corresponding free space 15. This cross-sectional shape is essentially V-shaped here.
- the slot width indicated at 19 in FIG. 2 at the narrowest point of the transverse slot 18 is in any case less than approximately 30% of the web length; here it is in the range of 0.05 to 0.1 mm.
- the transverse slot 18 itself is not filled with vibration-damping material 17 here, i.e. to the outside too "open".
- the transverse slot 18 is filled with vibration-damping material anchored to the edge of the slot - or another elastic material, preferably plastic - so that there is a continuous outer peripheral edge of the shaft in the region of the transverse slot 18.
- the arrangement is such that the web 16 lying on the lower edge 11 of the needle shaft and then at the throat 6 next following Clearance 15 of the web 16 lying on the upper edge of the needle shaft 10 is severed, etc., it would also be conceivable to make the arrangement in such a way that first the web 16 lying on the upper edge of the needle shaft 10 and then the next free space 15 next to the free space 15 the web 16 lying on the lower edge 11 of the needle shaft has a transverse slot 18, and so on, which should be pointed out for the sake of order.
- the transverse slot 18 is provided immediately afterwards on the foot 8 or the guide part 12 under it in the web 16 lying on the upper edge 10 of the needle shaft.
- the lower web 16 assigned to the lower edge 11 of the needle shaft - subsequent to the guide part 12 under the foot 8 - could be severed by the transverse slot 18.
- transverse slot 18 is formed in the respective web 16 on the upper or lower edge of the needle shaft 10 or 11, subsequent to the guide part 12 adjacent to the throat 6.
- the vibration-damping material 17 is firmly anchored continuously at the web and guide partial areas delimiting the respective free space 15, following the boundary of the free space.
- the smooth cut surfaces of the shaft 7 that result when the respective free space 15 is punched out are usually sufficient.
- additional anchoring means on the webs 16 or the guide parts 12.
- These anchoring means can be formed by integrally formed peg-shaped or tab-shaped projections 20 (FIG. 2, 3) projecting into the vibration-damping material 17 or by profiling in the region of the webs 16 or the guide parts 15. Such profiling is indicated by a dashed line at 21 in FIG. 2; it is filled with the vibration-damping material 17.
- each of the two webs 16, which delimit a free space 15, are formed together with the associated guide parts 12, with a height of at most 1.1 mm.
- the web 16, which is separated by a transverse slot 18, has a greater height in individual cases because, due to the transverse slot 18, its influence on the vibration behavior of the needle is limited and it has in particular the task of ensuring that the vibration-damping material is properly anchored in the recess 15.
