Definitions

  • the invention relates to a knitting needle, which is set up for stationary storage in a fixed or movable Barre held.
  • Knitting machines have one or more bars, which are each equipped with a large number of knitting tools, such as Schlebernadeln or latch needles.
  • the term knitting tools also includes knitting tools. These knitting tools are oriented parallel to each other and clamped to the needle bar. They perform the same movement as the needle bar.
  • a latch needle for a knitting machine which is provided with a friction brake.
  • the latch needle is arranged for longitudinally displaceable mounting in a corresponding guide channel of a needle bed.
  • the latch needle has an elongate laterally bent shaft, on which a plastic body is held.
  • the plastic body may protrude laterally beyond the shaft in at least one embodiment to abut against a wall surface of the guide channel like a brake pad and to brake uncontrolled longitudinal needle movements.
  • the individual knitting tools must be held in a predetermined position on the needle bar. So that each knitting tool is kept in its predetermined position, corresponding positioning means, for example in the form of slots or grooves, are provided on the bar, in which the individual knitting tools are inserted. The Knitting tools are then clamped in the relevant groove.
  • the number of arranged in a needle bar knitting tools depends on the fabric to be produced, in particular their mesh density.
  • the currently finest knitted textile knitted fabric is produced on a machine with the fineness E44. This means an English inch (25.4 mm) has 44 knitting tools or needles. This creates a pitch of 0.5773 mm. The pitch determines the distance from knitting tool to knitting tool.
  • the knitting tools of a pitch E 44 have a thickness of 0.44 mm.
  • the bridge between the knitting tools has a thickness of 0.16 mm. If knitwear is made with a coarser pitch, e.g. E 40 knitting tools with larger thicknesses and webs with larger widths are necessary. For each division a special thickness of the knitting tools and a special web thickness is required. This requires the production of individual knitting tools and needle bars per division.
  • the knitting tools extend a distance away from the bar, with some flexibility due to their material properties.
  • Knitting tools for knitting machines are known Have plastic inlays.
  • the plastic bodies arranged in the opening terminate in a plane with the side surface of the knitting tool.
  • a tricot knitting needle which is designed as a latch needle. It is provided on its shaft with Kunststoffgleitmaschinen, which protrude beyond the side surfaces of the shaft out. These plastic sliders absorb vibrations and guide the needles in their needle channels by sliding against the wall surfaces.
  • the plastic body can serve the vibration damping and stiffening.
  • he supports the positioning of the knitting needle, for example, by allowing a mutual support of adjacent knitting tools. It thus forms a support means for supporting adjacent knitting tools together.
  • the plastic body can project on one side on the side surface of the knitting needle so that it touches the side surface of the adjacent knitting tool. As a result, a temporary flexible bending of the shaft, a permanent deformation of the same or even a mispositioning in the form of vibrations is largely excluded.
  • the knitting needle is asymmetrical in plan view. But it is also possible to let the plastic body project over both side surfaces of the knitting needle, so that a symmetrical in plan view configuration. It then touch the plastic body adjacent needles (plastic on plastic).
  • the projection of the plastic body over the side surface of the knitting needle preferably corresponds to the desired lateral spacing of adjacent knitting tools and thus corresponds to the thickness of the webs of the needle bar arranged between the needles.
  • the supernatant of the plastic body fills outside the needle bar the gap between two adjacent and according to the pitch arranged knitting ..
  • the plastic body is preferably arranged on that shaft portion which protrudes from the bar. If necessary, however, it may also be arranged wholly or partly on the shaft section located in the bar.
  • the arrangement of the plastic body on the outside of the bar shaft portion provides the opportunity, the knitting needles to abut each other in the immediate vicinity of their respective working section, ie, for example, their hook whose positioning is improved in this way.
  • the needle bar can be realized with knitting needles.
  • the anchoring of the plastic body to the shaft is preferably positive.
  • the shaft may have one or more openings, which are penetrated by the plastic body.
  • the plastic body can be made separately and subsequently attached to the shaft. However, it is preferred to inject it directly to the shaft, wherein the plastic body has one or more, the shaft, for example, at its openings by cross-extensions.
  • the openings may be provided with an extension on the edge remote from the plastic body in order to anchor the plastic body in a form-fitting manner to the shaft.
  • This extension may take the form of a conical recess e.g. a funnel or similar structure.
  • the recess with the opening which is penetrated by the plastic body optionally form a blunt or an acute angle.
  • the arrangement and the size of the recess can be chosen so that the plastic body is securely anchored in the knitting tool. If the shaft has a plurality of openings for fastening the plastic body, then the recesses of the individual openings can have different shapes and sizes.
  • FIG. 1 a Barre 1 is illustrated, which belongs to a knitting machine, not shown.
  • the barre stored over its entire length distributed a large number of knitting tools, here for example knitting needles 2, 3.
  • the two knitting needles 2, 3 are representative of the over the length of the bar 1 extending group of knitting needles.
  • the knitting needles 2, 3 are preferably formed completely identical to each other. Such a knitting needle 2 is in the FIGS. 2 to 6 separately illustrated.
  • the knitting needle 2 has a shaft 4 with a first portion 5 held in the bar and a second portion 6 extending out of the bar. At the portion 5, one or more feet 7, 8, 9 are formed for positioning the knitting needle 2 on the bar 1.
  • a working portion for example in the form of a hook 10 is arranged.
  • the shaft 4 has, as in particular FIG. 7 shows, two parallel, preferably flat side surfaces 11, 12 and narrow strip-shaped upper and lower surfaces 13, 14 on. In cross-section, for example, it is rectangular. The distance between the side surface 11 and the side surface 12 determines the thickness of the needle shaft 4.
  • FIG. 3 shows, one of the side surfaces 11, 12, in the example, the side surface 11, provided with a plastic body 15, which preferably has a parallel to the side surface 11 flat side 16.
  • the flat side 16 is preferably oriented parallel to the side surface 11.
  • the flat side 16 may be a flat uninterrupted surface. If necessary, it can also be provided with one or more recesses, interruptions, depressions or the like.
  • the distance of the flat side 16 from the side surface 11 corresponds to the part of the thickness the plastic body 15, which projects beyond the flat side of the shaft 4.
  • the thickness of the resulting supernatant of the plastic body 15 is consistent with the distance of the adjacent knitting needles 2, 3 and is dependent on the pitch and the thickness of the knitting tools used and can be selected accordingly.
  • the plastic body of the knitting needle 2 rests with its flat side 16 on the side surface 12 of the knitting needle 3 (plastic-metal contact).
  • the plastic body 15 is also preferably arranged in the vicinity of the hook 10 at the lying outside of the Barre 1 section 6 of the shaft 4. He thus provides outside of the bar 1 in the vicinity of the hook 10, a support of the knitting needles together.
  • the plastic body 15 is in side view, for example, approximately rectangular with rounded corners. He is over from the FIGS. 4 to 6 apparent projections 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 held on the shaft 4. These extend through corresponding openings which extend transversely through the shaft 4.
  • FIG. 7 This is illustrated by the example of the opening 22, which serves to receive the extension 19 of the plastic body 15.
  • the opening 22 is for example a bore, which is oriented perpendicular to the side surfaces 11, 12 and merges with their ends 27, 28 in the side surfaces 11, 12.
  • At least one end 26 has an anchoring device 23.
  • the plastic body 15 is, in particular the FIGS. 5, 6 show, preferably mounted on one side of the shaft 4. It thus has a plate-like portion which extends over a part of the side surface 11.
  • the opening 22 ends by means of an anchoring device 23. This is provided for the positive securing of the plastic body 15 on the shaft 4.
  • This anchoring device 23 may, for example, by a funnel-shaped extension of Opening 22 may be formed.
  • FIG. 8 shows an alternative anchoring device 23 '.
  • the bottom 25 of this anchoring device has a flat base surface, which is arranged starting from its theoretical center 24 inclined to the side surface 12.
  • the distance of the bottom surface 25 to the side surface 12 of the shaft 4 increases, starting from the center 24 to the edge 26 of the bottom 25.
  • the bottom surface 25 is arranged at an acute angle to the side surface 12.
  • the special arrangement of the bottom surface 25 creates a free space in which the plastic body 15 can be anchored particularly securely.
  • the bottom surface 25 may be disposed at an obtuse angle to the side surface 12.
  • the plastic body 15 is preferably molded directly onto the shaft 4. This can be done in a corresponding injection mold, in which the shaft 4 is inserted. Preferably, the plastic is injected into the mold through at least one of the apertures serving to receive the projections 17 to 21. The resulting gate may be within the opening, for example within the opening 22. He thus does not protrude beyond the side surface 12. The plastic fills the mold and thereby forms the plate-shaped portion on the side surface 11. He also fills the openings and the extension. Thus, the plastic body 15 is both cohesively and positively connected to the shaft 4.
  • the shaft 4 may differ from the illustrated shape have other shapes. It can also be provided in addition to the plastic body 15 on the same side surface 11 or on the opposite side surface 12, one or more further plastic body. In addition, the shape of the plastic body 15 can be varied as well as shape, size and number of the same provided for fixing the same openings in the shaft 4. The embodiments, however, have in common that the plastic body 15 can serve for the lateral support of adjacent knitting needles 2, 3 or other knitting tools ,
  • a knitting needle for a bar 1 of a knitting machine has a shaft 4, which is provided at least on one side with a plastic body 15 which projects beyond the side surface 11 of the shaft. This plastic body 15 is in contact with the side surface of the adjacent knitting needle. Thus, both participating knitting tools are based on each other.
