Definitions

  • the invention relates to a tool for stitch-forming machines, in particular knitting and knitting machines with a shaft which can be inserted into a guide groove of a bed, which carries means for stitch formation in the region of at least one end and which is bent transversely to its longitudinal direction, and with at least one on it Stem arranged foot.
  • Such tools are needles punched from sheet steel (steel strip) or made from steel wire, in particular latch needles, sliding needles, hooks, sinkers and the like. Elements that contribute to the stitch formation. They are in the guide grooves of the associated bed guided longitudinally displaceable, their longitudinal movement being controlled by lock parts which interact with the feet in a manner known per se.
  • the vibrations triggered by the centrifugal movements cause transverse bending vibrations on the stitch-forming part of the needle which freely protrudes from the needle bed, so that the needle head with the hook and the tongue may be deflected out of the plane of symmetry of the needle to such an extent that the tongue during its swiveling movement moves the neighboring one Board stripes.
  • the consequences are streaks in the fabric and a tongue spoon ground on one side, which creates sharp edges that can damage the thread during knitting, which immediately makes the needle unusable.
  • a known measure (FR-A-2 151 963) to counteract spinning movements of the needle in its guide groove in the needle bed is to provide a so-called spring bend on the needle shaft, i.e. Bend the shaft laterally at a point transverse to its direction of longitudinal extension, the shaft regions lying on both sides of the bending point forming an obtuse angle with one another (DIN ISO 8119 Part 1 p. 28 No. 14).
  • DIN ISO 8119 Part 1 p. 28 No. 14 DIN ISO 8119 Part 1 p. 28 No. 14
  • the pretension with which the needle shaft is pressed against the associated side wall of the guide groove changes constantly, while on the other hand the needle head is brought up to the adjacent circuit board, so that in the case of fine pitches there is an inadmissible rubbing of the needle tongue on the circuit board.
  • latch needles for knitting machines have become known (DE-B-2 238 196), in which the needle shaft is waved several times over its entire length starting from its foot and thereby changes its flank system on the guide channel or groove cheeks several times.
  • the thus created course of the needle shaft in a serpentine line is intended to prevent a straight propagation of the control impacts from the foot to the needle head and thus to counteract the occurrence of premature hook breaks.
  • the changing flank system in principle results in bilateral guidance of the needle shaft on both guide channel or groove cheeks, but this requires a close tolerance both for the corrugation and, in particular, for the guide channels or grooves of the needle bed, as in the Practice is not always readily available.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a tool for stitch-forming machines, in particular knitting and knitting machines, the shank during its back and forth movement at least in the adjoining the protruding from the guide groove of the bed , within the guiding groove area is held pressed against the associated guiding groove side wall over a large area, tolerances in the shank thickness and the guiding groove width are automatically compensated in such a way that a play-free longitudinal guidance of the shank is ensured.
  • the tool mentioned at the outset is characterized according to the invention in that the shank is at least two at a distance from one another arranged turns transverse to its longitudinal direction, which are directed to the same side and are provided in an area which remains in operation within the guide groove.
  • the at least two bends in the shaft ensure that the shaft bears continuously against a side wall of the guide groove over most of its length remaining in the guide groove of the bed. This creates a constant tension, which switches off any lateral play of the shank in the guide groove, regardless of shank thickness tolerances and tolerances of the guide groove width, so that no vibrations can occur in the tool.
  • the tool is guided smoothly and smoothly with its shaft in the bed, while at the same time ensuring that the shaft part protruding from the bed remains in its movement in the plane predetermined by the lateral guide groove side wall supporting it and does not perform any transverse movements, which lead to brushing against neighboring tools and to dynamic breaks.
  • the at least two bends are advantageously arranged in the area between a foot and the means for stitch formation, ie in the case of a latch needle between a foot and the needle head.
  • the turns generally have obtuse angles of equal size; depending on the needle construction, constructions are also conceivable in which at least two bends have obtuse angles of different sizes.
  • the tongue needle punched out of sheet steel and shown in FIGS. 1, 2 has a shaft 1 which carries a foot 2 at one end and a needle head 3 at the other end.
  • a needle tongue 4 is pivotally mounted about a tongue axis 5, which cooperates with the needle head 3 in a known manner.
  • the shaft 1 has two bends 6, 7 arranged at a distance from one another transversely to its longitudinal direction, which are directed towards the same side (downward in FIG. 2).
  • the bending lines indicated at 6a, 7a in FIG. 1 run at right angles to the straight needle back 8.
  • the two bends 6, 7 have obtuse angles 9, 10 of equal size, each of which is approximately 170 ° in the embodiment shown.
  • the size of the obtuse angles 9, 10 depends, among other things. on the width of the guide grooves or channels of the needle bed in which the latch needles work, the shaft thickness and the design conditions of the machine.
  • FIG. 3 illustrates a guide groove 11 of a needle bed, which is delimited with parallel flanks and into which the latch needle according to FIGS. 1, 2 is inserted.
  • the shaft 1 in the regions 12, 13 adjoining the bends 6, 7 is pressed tightly against the associated guide groove side wall 14 with prestress.
  • the guide groove side wall 14 is based on that indicated by an arrow 15 in FIG. 3 Direction of rotation lagging relative to the other guide groove side wall 16, against which the shaft 1 is supported in the region of the two bends 6, 7.
  • the sinker ring can also be set on a circular knitting machine equipped with such latch needles in such a way that a precisely predetermined, sufficiently large distance is present between the needle head 3 and the adjacent sinker, with the result that the needle tongue is excluded 3 brushes against the circuit board during its swiveling movement.
  • the bend 17 causes the shaft 1 in the area adjacent to the exit from the guide groove 11 12 'and in the foot area 12' is elastically deformed toward the center of the guide groove 11 and accordingly from the associated guide groove side wall 14 lifts.
  • the consequence of this by the preload the bend 17 resulting from lateral deformation of the shaft part projecting from the guide groove 11 is that the needle head, depending on the reciprocating movement of the latch needle in the guide groove 11, carries out the known reciprocating transverse movement which occurs with narrow pitch and unfavorable conditions rubbing the needle tongue on the adjacent board.
  • bends 6, 7 can also be provided, the distances between which can also vary in the longitudinal direction of the needle. It is also conceivable to make such bends 6, 7 on both sides of feet 2 or in the area behind foot 2, i.e. to be arranged in the area of the so-called tracking.
  • the needle head 3 and the needle tongue 4 form means for stitch formation.
  • the invention can also be used for other stitch-forming tools, for example blanks, which have a shaft which is displaceably guided in corresponding guide grooves or channels in a bed and whose means for stitch formation are e.g. through the well-known curling edges, throats and the like. are formed.
  • the bends 6, 7 are provided in the section of the shaft 1 which remains in the associated guide groove during the operational reciprocation of the tool within the guide groove, so that between the exit from the bed and the first turn 6 remaining area of the shaft 1 always remains firmly pressed against the associated guide groove side wall 14.
