Definitions
- the invention relates to a pressure relief device for container walls of containers intended for receiving bulk goods, in particular of narrow and tall silos or the like.
- the horizontal forces exerted by a bulk material on the vertical container walls increase from top to bottom according to an e-function in order to achieve a value that remains approximately constant over the remaining container height with a corresponding container height.
- the invention has for its object to reduce the maximum value of the horizontal forces generated by the bulk column.
- This object is achieved according to the invention by a plurality of plates or the like which are arranged one above the other in the interior of the container and are fixed to a holder and are acted upon on all sides by the bulk material when the container is full.
- the bulk material is supported by the plates or the like. formed floors on the plates, so that the horizontal forces increasing from top to bottom only reach a lower peak value.
- the holder on an upper suspension, or on a lid that closes the open container, a roof or the like. hangs.
- the holder itself can then be designed to be flexible.
- This holder can also be attached to the bottom of the container, so that the plates partially absorb any buoyancy that may be acting on the bulk material and can be derived from the base fastening of the holder. In principle, however, it is also possible to make the holder stiff so that it can stand on the bottom of the container.
- Stationary tanks for holding liquid gases are usually enclosed by a ring-shaped insulating space which is filled with, for example, piece-like insulating material to insulate the tank.
- This insulating space is formed by a wall of, for example, concrete enclosing the tank to be protected, which is closed by a dome-shaped ceiling that overlaps the tank, for example.
- the tank which usually stands on an insulated foundation, can have a height of, for example, 30 to 40 m; its internal temperature can be minus 200 ° C or less, depending on the bunker material.
- the outer annular space is filled with the lumpy insulating material, eg perlite, when the tank is still empty, i.e. warm.
- the tank If the tank is then filled with liquefied petroleum gas, its vertical steel wall bulges inwards under the influence of the low temperatures. This causes an enlargement of the outer annular insulation space and thereby slippage of the lumpy insulation material. If this tank were to be completely emptied later and thereby warmed up to ambient temperatures again, the vertical tank wall would try to expand again. However, a radial bulge outwards would result in the horizontal resulting from the high column of insulating material opposing forces. This would presumably lead to a severe denting of the tank wall, to barely controllable horizontal forces acting on the outer concrete wall, and to displacement forces within the insulating material. These consequences can only be determined theoretically, because in practice, because of these still uncontrolled dangers, it has so far been avoided to reheat a liquid gas tank by completely emptying it.
- the pressure relief device according to the invention can be used advantageously in particular in the insulating space surrounding a liquid gas tank in a ring. Evenly distributed around the tank could be hung on the roof spanning the tank, the holders equipped with the plates, which extend over approximately the full tank height and over this height evenly with plates or the like. are equipped. These plates lead to such a high relief of the insulation material column and thus to a reduction in the horizontal forces exerted by the latter on the tank wall, that if the tank is emptied, the wall of the latter could expand again by overcoming the reduced horizontal forces exerted by the insulation material, without damaging the Tank itself or its outer protective cover must fear.
- the plates can each be bowl-shaped to further increase the relief effect.
- the holder equipped with the plates at the same time is also attached to the bottom of the container or to the bottom of the annular insulating space. In this case, at least some of the plates can point downwards with their trough-shaped opening.
- Figure 1 shows a liquid gas tank 1 with a vertical container wall 2 and an insulating space 3 surrounding this tank in a ring. The latter is closed off from the outside by an annular concrete wall 4 with a dome-shaped roof 5. A lid 7, which closes the tank 1, hangs on the roof 5 via suspensions 6.
- brackets 8 In the insulating space 3 hang evenly arranged around the tank 1 as a tension rod brackets 8, of which only one is shown in Figure 1. In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1, these brackets 8 also hang on the roof 5 and extend over approximately the full height of the tank 1.
- Each bracket 8 is equipped with plates 9 or the like. which are arranged one above the other with a clear spacing and are firmly fixed to the holder 8. According to the exemplary embodiment, the plates 9 can be opened in a trough-shaped manner.
- the insulating space 3 is filled with a piece of insulating material, which is not shown for the sake of clarity and which the plates 9 or the like. acted upon on all sides.
- the holder 8 is designed as a pressure rod standing on the floor, while the alternative solution according to FIG. 4 shows a holder 8 fastened both above and below in the form of a tension-compression rod.
- some of the plates 9 point downward, others upward, while the three middle plates 9 are flat.

Abstract
Description
- Figur 1 im Ausschnitt einen lotrechten Schnitt durch einen Flüssiggastank und den ihn umschließenden Isolierraum mit einer hier aufgehängten Druckentlastungseinrichtung;
- Figur 2 die Druckentlastungseinrichtung gemäß Figur 1;
