Definitions
- the invention relates to a glove box according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a glove box is known from German laid-open specification DE-A-32 01 976.
- the gas-tight sack on this known glove box is a glove with a matrix that has a surface coating of halogen-free elastomer and / or polyolefin on the active inside of the glove.
- This polyolefin can be polyethylene, while a surface coating made of chlorosulfonated polyethylene can be arranged on the matrix on the inactive outside of the glove.
- radioactive emitters in particular alpha emitters such as plutonium
- the surface coating of halogen-free elastomer and / or polyolefin on the active inside of the glove prevents halogens, in particular chlorine, from being released by the radioactive radiation on the active inside of the glove and get into the glove box and thus into the radioactive emitter.
- the radioactive emitter By keeping the radioactive emitter free of halogen impurities, corrosion on metallic envelopes into which the radioactive emitter is inserted and which are caused by halogen which this radioactive emitter emits is avoided. This is of particular importance in the event that the radioactive emitters are tablets made of plutonium or plutonium mixed oxide, which are used as nuclear fuel in existing cladding tubes, for example made of zirconium alloy, from fuel rods of a nuclear reactor fuel element. On this Cladding tubes must be expected to suffer greater corrosion damage during use in a nuclear reactor if the nuclear fuel releases halogens.
- the invention has for its object to develop the known glove box by a gas-tight sack made of single-layer material.
- a glove box of the type mentioned has the features of the characterizing parts of the protection claim 1.
- thermoplastic polyurethane from which the sack is made on this glove box contains no halogen and, accordingly, cannot contaminate radioactive emitters processed in the glove box with halogen. In the event of a reject bag to be incinerated later during disposal, corrosion of the incinerator is also avoided due to the lack of halogen. Furthermore, the sack made of thermoplastic polyurethane is characterized by high elasticity and high resilience, so that with this sack a very good sealing fit can be achieved on a connection piece which is located on the housing opening on the glove box. Furthermore, the sack made of thermoplastic polyurethane has high tear strength, high elongation at break and high puncture resistance, so that it is affected by mechanical influences e.g. can be damaged with pointed objects only with difficulty or not at all. Finally, the sack made of thermoplastic polyurethane can still be easily welded with high-frequency welding equipment, is abrasion-resistant, slippery and non-sticky.
- GB-A-2 148 094 also discloses a multilayer polyurethane rubber glove with a textile support fabric which is used for dirty work in the kitchen or in the medical field.
- a glove box has a wall 2 in which there is a housing opening 3.
- an outwardly projecting ring 4 is inserted, on which on the outside of the housing wall 2 a sack 5 is seated, which - as shown - is a gas-tight work glove, but also a gas-tight discharge bag or a gas-tight connection bag with two open ends a container, for example a protruding ring in a housing opening on another glove box.
- This gas-tight sack 5 is made of one layer and consists of thermoplastic polyurethane, which is reversibly crosslinked, for example, by polyaddition of di- or triisocyanates with polyols or polydiols (for example polyester diols, polyether diols or polycarbonate diols).
- This thermoplastic polyurethane has physically reversibly crosslinked, meltable molecules with an amorphous or partially crystalline structure, for example with the basic structure x, y integer Due to the long cross-linking of its molecules, this polyurethane is crystalline and non-sticky.
