Definitions

  • the invention relates to a flexographic printing machine, in particular for flexographic printing, which has at least one printing unit, each with a printing cylinder or an endless printing belt, which is wound around a support cylinder and a tensioning roller, an impression cylinder, an anilox roller which transfers the ink to the printing cylinder or to the printing belt and a color dryer and a paper web that runs through all printing units, via deflection roller (s) and drawing roller (s) between the printing cylinder or printing belt and impression cylinder and through the ink dryer.
  • FIG. 1 A dimensionally stable endless belt 11 is mounted on a support cylinder 12 and a tension roller 14. Flexible pressure plates 16 are fastened on the outside of this endless belt, whereby a pressure belt 10 is formed.
  • the printing ink is transferred from an anilox roller 18, which is immersed in an ink bath (not shown), to the printing plates 16. Redundant ink is produced by a doctor blade in the form of a reverse angle 20 stripped.
  • a paper web 22 guided in the direction of the arrow is pressed onto the printing plates by an impression cylinder 24 and printed on one side.
  • the endless tape 11 serving as a carrier consists of a polyester film, for example approximately 0.25 mm thick, in particular of polyethylene terephthalate.
  • the physical properties of the transverse and longitudinally stretched film material are the same in all directions. The uniformity extends over a wide temperature and humidity range.
  • the film-like strip material has good elongation and high impact resistance in the transverse and longitudinal directions.
  • the flexible film material of the endless belt is chemically resistant and resists oils, greases, printing inks, etc.
  • the long sides of the endless belt 11 are provided with a perforation 26, which is penetrated by knobs of the spiked discs transporting the belt in a known manner. This prevents the printing tape from sliding on the rollers.
  • the flexible printing plates 16 usually consist of a photopolymer material or rubber and are glued to the endless belt 11 with a suitable adhesive.
  • the printing plates 16 in the present example have a structured surface 28, which generates the printed image.
  • the printing tapes 10 described above have the advantage that the flexible printing plates 16 do not have to be mounted on a printing cylinder, but rather can be glued to the endless tape, which can be easily removed from the flexographic printing machine after use. All used Printing tapes can be rolled onto a sleeve and stored in a space-saving manner.
  • Flexographic prints up to 2.5 m wide are currently being produced with printing tapes up to 4.5 m long.
  • the flexographic printing machines work at high speed and are equipped with control devices for the automatic monitoring and registration of the paper webs.
  • Flexographic printing presses built according to the Conprinta system are usually equipped with 3 - 10 printing units. Any printing unit that is not involved in the ongoing printing process can already be equipped for the next step. The printing tape that is no longer used is removed, the new printing tape is installed and the printing ink is replaced. This usually takes 5-15 minutes.
  • individual printing units can also contain a conventional, structured or unstructured printing cylinder instead of the printing belt. This is done primarily for smooth or textured paintwork or for applying a base color.
  • the anilox roller is pushed aside, if necessary on an auxiliary frame, the forme cylinder dips directly into the ribbon.
  • DE-C-2139834 has no object to replace anilox rollers.
  • DE-B-1140205 describes a separately movable inking unit for printing presses.
  • the entire individual inking units can be revolver-like rotated on a carrier or lifted or rotated on a carriage and placed on the printing cylinder. This allows a fresh individual inking unit to be brought into the working position often and quickly without having to strain the printing press by installing several inking units.
  • Printing units with several individual inking units that can be moved on a chassis are inconceivable for flexographic printing.
  • DE-B-1140205 in no way meets the need for an optimal, clean anilox roller.
  • the inventor has set himself the task of further improving a flexographic printing machine of the type mentioned at the outset and of rationalizing its operation.
  • an anilox roller with an optimal, clean screen should be available for each print, without the need for complex assembly work which impairs the working time of the machine.
  • the additional, automatically replaceable anilox roller (s) can replace the working anilox roller at a suitable moment in a fraction of the time previously required.
  • the roller in reserve or the rollers in reserve advantageously have a different grid than the working roller. It is known to the person skilled in the art that different anilox rollers are preferably used for different printing motifs (surface printing, screen printing). If an order change is imminent, the anilox roller with the halftone value and / or scooping capacity for the ink transfer corresponding to the print motif can be replaced on a free printing unit during normal set-up time without interrupting the operation of the rest of the printing system.
  • the scooping capacity of an anilox roller depends on the width and depth of the recesses.
  • the working and the reserve anilox roller (s) are preferably mounted in two front swivel arms, which are attached to the machine housing or frame or in a lifting carriage. After a position stop has been removed, these swivel arms can be rotated about a continuous axis or two axes arranged in the region of the swivel arms. After turning, another anilox roller is in the working position and is fixed by means of a position stop. The screen roller that is no longer used can now be cleaned or removed without interrupting the printing process.
  • the working and the anilox roller which are in reserve are mounted on two elongated swivel arms on both sides of the axis / n. These swivel arms can be rotated by at least 180 °, the angle by which an anilox roller is rotated from the working position to the reserve position or vice versa.
  • any equipment in the flexographic printing press that stands in the way of this movement is automatically moved, for example the ink bath with the rack and possibly the tensioning roller when using a printing belt.
  • the printing press is designed in such a way that these steps can be carried out easily.
  • the impediment to the swiveling movement is reduced if the swivel arms with the axis (s) for the anilox rollers can be lowered when the work roll is arranged at the top or can be raised when the work roll is arranged at the bottom.
  • the system expediently moves simultaneously with the lowering or lifting from a position stop and can only be swiveled after this movement.
  • the flexographic printing machine can be equipped with means which, because of the position stop, delay the automatic rotation of the swivel arms with the axis (s) for the anilox rollers. This can be done, for example, by installing racks and equipping the anilox rollers with rigidly arranged gear wheels. The gears only engage in the teeth when the system has moved out of the position stop.
  • the anilox rollers which are rotatably mounted in the swivel arms, should, if they are in reserve, be easily removed if necessary.
  • the bearing pins of the anilox rollers are therefore preferred by lifting them onto the swivel arms screwable caps can be exposed.
  • the anilox rollers to be replaced can be lowered onto a trolley or lifted off with a crane.
  • the swivel arms attached to the machine frame or housing or in the lifting carriage are driven on both sides of the end faces of the anilox rollers.
  • the rotary movement of usually 180 is preferably carried out via synchronized electric, pneumatic or hydraulic motors arranged on both sides of the common axis. Where this is possible for geometric reasons, the rotary movement can only take place with a motor and a shaft extending from machine frame to machine frame. In the case of swivel arms arranged on a straight line, however, this requires a greater distance between the anilox rollers, which in turn has the consequence that the equipment objects opposing a rotational movement of the swivel arms must be removed further. For this reason, synchronized motors that are arranged on both sides are generally used in practice.
  • the automatic replacement of an anilox roller which is in reserve can take place via displacement guides.
  • this system is more expensive and complicated than the rotary movements of the swivel arms described above.
  • anilox roller (s) in reserve position can be removed or installed during the printing operation. This allows the business interruptions to be very short when changing the printed motif, especially if printing tapes are used instead of printing cylinders.
  • the printing unit of a flexographic printing machine shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 includes a machine frame 30 with the rollers and cylinders guiding or printing a paper web 22, their suspensions and drive elements, reference being made to FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the components corresponding to the prior art are not all drawn and described in detail.
  • the paper web 22 is guided via a deflection roller 32 to the rubberized pull roller 34. After the drawing roller 34, the paper web 22 wraps around the impression cylinder 24 and is printed with the ink transferred from the working anilox roller 18a onto the printing belt 10 as it passes between the support cylinder 12 and the impression cylinder 24.
  • the working anilox roller 18a and the reserve anilox roller 18b are mounted on two swivel arms 38 located at the end of the anilox rollers, which are mounted in opposite side rails of the machine frame 30, each around an axis of rotation 36 located in the middle (FIGS. 5, 6, 7, 7) ) are rotatable. By rotating the extended swivel arm by 180, the working anilox roller becomes an anilox roller that is in reserve and vice versa.
  • the positioning devices 40 (FIGS. 5, 6, 7) ensure stable holding of the anilox roller 18 a in the working position.
  • the upper part of the swivel arm 38 moves out of the positioning stops 40 on a rail guide 39 and can now be rotated through 180 ° by means of a unit which exerts a torque. After lifting up and simultaneously moving into the positioning stops 40, the previously anilox roller becomes the new anilox roller 18a.
  • the hydraulic lifting cylinders 48 are used to position the support cylinder 12, the hydraulic pressure cylinders 50 are used to position the pull roller 34.
  • the hydraulic unit 49 is indicated in FIG. 3.
  • the drive units 52 for the tensioning roller 14, 54 for the support cylinder 12 and 56 for the counter-pressure cylinder 24 are of a conventional design, familiar to the person skilled in the art, as are the possibly telescopically extendable spindles or shafts for transmitting the torques to the corresponding rollers. 4, the unit 54 does not exert its own driving force, but obtains it via transmission means.
  • the unit 54 drives the support cylinder 12 via a cardan shaft 96, which can absorb movements in all directions.
  • the unit 56 for the impression cylinder 24 is driven via a toothed belt 55, which unit also drives the pull roller 34, which is indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 4.
  • the printing belt 10 and the paper web 22 are driven separately, but they must always run at exactly the same speed.
  • the tension on the pressure belt 10 is changed by the tension roller is rotated a little faster or slower. In this way, an additional or less torque is exerted on the printing belt.
  • the tensioning roller 14 is suspended via a spindle lifting system 69. As shown in FIG. 4, the height of the tensioning roller 14 is changed by rotating the threaded spindle 61, which passes through the tensioning roller bearing 66.
  • the printing belt 10 and the tensioning roller 14 with the tensioning linkage 58 are omitted and the support cylinder 12 is designed as a pressure cylinder.
  • Such variants of the printing unit are particularly suitable for primers and smooth or structured coatings.
  • FIG. 5 A system of the rotatable anilox rollers 18a, 18b is shown in detail in FIG. 5.
  • the axis of rotation 36 for the swivel arm 38 with the two anilox rollers merges in the direction of the machine frame into a pin 63 rigidly connected to the swivel arm 38, which in turn is rotatably mounted in a sleeve-shaped holder 65.
  • This holder 65 is anchored in a lifting carriage 67 and also carries the flanged rotary cylinder 60, which is driven by the hydraulic unit 49 shown in FIG. 3.
  • the drive shaft of the rotary cylinder 60 transmits the drive force to the pin 63.
  • a corresponding swivel arm with bearings for the anilox rollers and synchronized means for the drive is arranged on the opposite end of the two anilox rollers 18a, 18b.
  • the bearing pins 62 of the two anilox rollers 18a, 18b are arranged in the extended swivel arm 38 via bearings 64.
  • the roller drive for example an electric servo motor, runs coaxially with the anilox roller 18a.
  • the Roller drive directly from the main drive, e.g. using a toothed belt.
  • a coupling 68 of a known type allows the roll neck 62 to be separated from the drive shaft 70 of the roll drive.
  • the clutch 68 is actuated by a hydraulic cylinder 72 which is supported on a holder 76 via a cylindrical pin 74.
  • the hydraulic cylinder 72 transmits its force to the clutch 68 via a fork joint 78 and an angled lever 80 which can be pivoted about an axis 79.
  • the clutch is designed as a curved tooth clutch.
  • the hydraulic lifting cylinder 44 allows the lifting slide 67 with the swivel arm 38 for the two anilox rollers 18a, 18b to be lowered to a stop by means of the piston rod 90. This is necessary in order to obtain the space necessary for the rotation of the anilox rollers.
  • the position stop 86 is formed with a groove trapezoidal in cross section on the lower side.
  • the caps 94 screwed on the end face to the swivel arm 38 are designed in accordance with the groove which is trapezoidal in cross section.
  • the position stop which serves the same purpose and has a rectangular cross section has a mandrel 84.
  • Corresponding recesses are formed in the caps 34, as a bore, longitudinal slot or groove, in which the mandrel 84 can snap into place.
  • the mandrel can be dome-shaped and in the working position with a lock the correspondingly designed bearing shell.
  • the lower cap 94 can be unscrewed and the lower anilox roller 18b (FIG. 5) can be replaced.
  • the flexographic printing machine according to the invention is particularly suitable for the production of large-area multicolor prints.
  • the resulting flexographic printing process is extremely cost-effective.
  • a paper web used as a cover sheet for packaging cardboard is printed.
