Definitions

  • the invention relates to a spring hinge with two hinge tabs, which are connected to each other at the abutting edges via a hinge joint formed by mesh-like interlocking and penetrated by a hinge wire and which are provided with devices for fastening to parts of a stop material, and with at least one spring, the ends of which each engage one of the hinge tabs.
  • Spring hinges of the aforementioned type serve to pivotally fasten one part, for example a lid, to another part, for example to a box, of a container-like attachment, such as a suitcase, box, case or a box made of wood, cardboard or plastic , and to hold the pivotable part under the action of the spring both in the closed position and after overcoming a dead or tipping point in the open position.
  • each hinge flap is bent at right angles along its free edges to the same side and is provided with impact tips in the bent plane.
  • a type of pocket is formed between the flat part and the free edge of each hinge flap, from which one end of the U-shaped spring bridging the interior of the spring hinge is received.
  • each hinge flap is provided with a fold along its outer longitudinal edge, which ends at an angle bent in the direction of the outer longitudinal edge, behind which the springs designed as cranked leaf springs with angled ends engage.
  • the hinge tabs In order to be able to mount the springs in the untensioned state, the hinge tabs are brought into an angular position in which their receptacles for the ends of the springs are at a smaller distance from one another than the ends of the relaxed spring. The angle between the hinge tabs is approximately 120 ° .
  • the springs can be easily inserted into the receptacles.
  • the hinge tabs In order not to lose the springs during transport, the hinge tabs are then brought into a starting position in which the free ends of the springs engage behind the receptacles and the spring hinges are tensioned.
  • the hinge tabs form an angle of approximately 180 ° in the closed position after the spring hinges have struck a stop material, and in the open position of 270 ° and more, they form an angle in the starting or transport position considered here, which is between Close and open position. Consequently, this is also the position in which the spring hinges are fed to the stop tool. If you want to avoid striking in two work steps and in two planes that are perpendicular to the hinge lobes that are at an angle to each other, but rather to carry out the striking in one work step, stop tools are necessary that move the spring hinges immediately before the striking process against the action of the spring into the later closed position bring the hinge lobes into an angle of approx. 180 ° . Such stop tools, as are known from DE-U-8 600 009, are complex because they require special wall and / or guide devices.
  • the invention seeks to remedy this.
  • the invention has for its object to design a spring hinge of the type mentioned so that it can be brought and held in the later closed position after inserting the spring.
  • this object is achieved in that a lock is provided on at least one of the hinge tabs, by means of which this hinge tab can be supported on the other hinge tab under the action of the spring at an angle of approximately 180 ° .
  • the invention creates a spring hinge that is inherently more stable.
  • the angular position of the hinge tabs to one another can be adjusted by selecting the locking device in the range below 180 ° so that the closing effect of the spring hinge that has been struck can be selected.
  • the hinge flaps are brought into the desired angular position of approximately 180 ° from one another against the effect of the spring after the spring has been inserted from the angular position of approximately 120 ° mentioned. In this position, the lock snaps into place and secures the angular position of approx. 180 ° against the action of the spring.
  • the spring hinge now has the optimal stop position.
  • a striking machine is supplied, which can have a simple striking tool.
  • the hinges are attached to the material to be attached in the attachment machine.
  • the spring hinge can be supplied both as a single hinge (cf. DE-U-8 235 551) and as part of a band-shaped workpiece (cf. US-A-4 406 035; EP-A-0 126 911).
  • a plate made of resilient material is attached to each hinge tab, from which a part ring encompassing the hinge joint, which is held at the angle of 180 ° under the action of the spring with its end face pressed against the end face of the other part ring, and an angle bent toward the free edge of each hinge tab, which is engaged by one of the ends of the spring, is ejected.
  • Another development of the invention is characterized in that adjacent rollers of the hinge tabs belonging to one another have projections which abut one another at an angle of less than 180 ° formed between the hinge tabs.
  • the stops are at an angle of less than 180 ° , preferably approximately 170 ° , against each other.
  • the spring holds the hinge in this position.
  • the lower angle is fixed by the stops, which form a so-called inner stop.
  • the stops serve as an assembly aid for the assembly of the components required for a spring hinge.
  • the hinge back stiffens.
  • the hinge can be fed to a stop tool with abutting stops without further handling, even without turning in the opening direction.
  • the hinge is its own holding and guiding tool. Mechanical processing with simplified fastening tools, with the omission of adjustment aids, is favored.
  • the spring is captively attached to the hinge from the start; under their effect, the attacks are against each other.
  • the invention is applicable to hinges with both inside and outside hinge rollers. The boundaries are not bulky. Preparatory, e.g. in the form of milling work. If the invention is used in a hinge band whose roll is angled sharply, the roll can be re-rolled to the pointed side; in the case of a hinged belt with a classic curl, the roll can be re-rolled in the opposite direction.
  • one of the rollers of the one hinge flap on one end face has a projection which widens spirally and is offset in the manner of a locking mechanism, and the associated adjacent end face of the roller of the other hinge tab has the rotationally symmetrical projection.
  • a stop with projections of this type is known in a hinge without a spring as an angle limiter (cf. FIG. 6 of US Pat. No. 4,406,035).
  • the upper angle is limited - so-called outside stop - in the invention, however, the inside angle is limited - so-called inside stop -.
  • the spring hinges selected as exemplary embodiments consist of two hinge tabs 1 and 2.
  • the hinge tabs 1, 2 are designed as rollers 11, 21 on the inner longitudinal edges facing one another.
  • the rollers 11, 21 intermesh like a comb and form a hinge roller 3.
  • the hinge roller 3 is penetrated by a hinge wire 4.
  • the hinge roller 3 forms a hinge joint with the hinge wire 4.
  • Each hinge tab 1, 2 is provided on its edge 12, 22 with insertion tips 14, 24 which are angled substantially at right angles to its flat part 13, 23. Instead of the insertion tips, other devices can be provided for fastening the spring hinge to parts of an impact material.
  • each hinge tab 1, 2 is angled essentially at right angles to its flat part 13, 23.
  • the insertion tips 14, 24 are formed on the hinge tabs 1, 2.
  • the spring hinge has a wider middle part and two narrower end parts. Weft tips 14, 24 are provided on both the wider and the narrower parts.
  • a plate 5 is attached to the hinge tab 1, and a plate 6 made of resilient material is attached to the hinge tab 2.
  • the plates 5, 6 can be glued into the hinge tabs 1, 2, soldered in or simply held mechanically by the edge 12, 22.
  • a partial ring 51, 61 encompassing the hinge joint 3, 4 is ejected from each plate 5, 6 on each end face of the spring hinge.
  • At an angle of the hinge tabs 1, 2 of approximately 120 ° to one another - cf. Fig. 1 - are the partial rings 51,61 one above the other in the radial direction.
  • At the angle of 180 0 - cf. Fig. 2 - snap the partial rings 51, 61 under the spring action of the material on the same radius.
  • Each of the partial rings 51, 61 is then held with its end face 52, 62 pressed against the end face 62, 52 of the respective other partial ring 61, 51.
  • the end faces 52, 62 are held pressed against one another under the action of a spring 7 which spans the hinge tabs 1, 2.
  • the spring 7 is a leaf spring cranked at its ends 71, also referred to as a flat spiral spring. With each end 71, the spring 7 engages behind an angle 53, 63 which is bent out of the plate 5, 6 in the direction of the edge 12, 22 of the hinge tab 1, 2.
  • the partial rings 51, 61 are on each end face of the spring hinge Angle 53, 63 between the partial rings 51, 61 arranged in the widened part of the spring hinge.
  • the design of the hinge flap like that of the drive-in tips 14, 24, can be selected to match the material to be struck.
  • the spring hinge can be fed to a striking machine individually or as part of a band-shaped tool.
  • the hinge tabs 1, 2 are brought into a position in which they assume an angle of approximately 120 ° - cf. Fig. 1 -. In this position, the ends 71 of the spring engage behind the angles 53, 63. The hinge tabs 1, 2 are then brought against the action of the spring 7 into a position in which their angle to one another increases progressively until it is approximately 180 ° - see. Fig. 2 -. In this position, the partial rings 51, 61 snap from the differently sized radii to the same radius; their end faces 52, 62 press against each other. The hinge tabs 1, 2 are locked in this position.
  • the spring hinge can be simply struck against a stop material with the aid of its drive-in tips 14, 24. After striking, the spring hinge can be pivoted through an angle of up to 270 ° and - without using an angle limiter - beyond.
  • the part rings 51, 61 can be pressed onto the same radius by means of a tool which also brings the spring hinge into its transport position .
  • the partial rings 51, 61 can also be of different lengths adapted to one another. They can then - invisible from the outside - be arranged in the area under the spring 7.
  • the locking device forming the invention can be used as a limitation of the pivoting angle between the hinge tabs inwards also for hinges without a spring.
  • adjacent rollers 11, 21 of the hinge tabs 1, 2 have projections 15, 25 which abut one another at an angle of less than 180 ° , preferably 170 ° , formed between the hinge tabs.
  • One hinge tab, eg 1 can be supported on the other hinge tab, eg 2, via the projections 15, 25.
  • the projections 15, 25 are kept pressed together under the action of the spring 7, which spans the hinge tabs 1, 2.
  • the base spring 72 overlaps the hinge roller 3.
  • the ends 71 of the leaf spring 7 are non-positively connected to a pocket 17, 27 as free spring ends. Each pocket 17, 27 is pressed out in the flat part 13, 23 each of a recess starting from the edge 12, 22 of the hinge tabs 1, 2.
  • the projections 15, 25 are provided at the two ends of the hinge joint 3, 4. If the hinge joint 3, 4 consists of several rollers 11, 21, either the projections 15, 25 can only be provided at the two ends of the hinge joint 3, 4; the projections 15, 25 can, however, also be provided on each end face of each roller 11, 21 forming the hinge joint 3, 4.
  • the spring hinge is used to secure a part, e.g. a lid on another part, e.g. to be pivotally attached to a box, a container-like stop material, and to hold the pivotable part under the action of the spring both in the closed position and in the open position.
