Definitions
- the invention relates to a nozzle for blowing off excess flowable coating material from continuously moving surfaces, for example from galvanized strip, which has a hollow base body which extends over the entire width of a coating device and in which gas which is to be blown out can be distributed and under pressure has the length of the base body extending elongated mouthpiece, which contains in its flat end face a nozzle slot from which the gas is blown out.
- nozzles are arranged on both sides of the strip sheet running out of the coating bath, the nozzle slots of which extend over the full working width of the device, the nozzle slots of the opposing nozzles lying opposite one another. They are covered against each other by the band plate running between them.
- strip material is processed whose width is less than the maximum working width of the device, gas is blown out on one side of the strip material from the opposing nozzles, which gas is ineffective for stripping or blowing off coating material from the surfaces of the strip material.
- This not only leads to unnecessary gas consumption and thus energy expenditure for gas production, but also to turbulence in the gas streams that meet the strip material. If you work with a gas other than uft, the unnecessary gas consumption also plays an economic role for cost reasons. This is all the more true since coating devices for strip material can rarely be used over the full working width, but the strip to be coated, such as strip plate, often fluctuate in width.
- the invention has for its object to provide with simple means the ability to adjust the stripping or blowing off excess flowable coating agent from continuously moving surfaces such as strip plate nozzles to the required working width, so that only so much gas is always blown out needs to be, as is necessary for stripping off the excess coating agent and accordingly unnecessary operating costs and also turbulence of the gas used for blowing off can be avoided next to the side edges of the strip material.
- cover elements can be placed loosely on the end face of the mouthpiece to limit the outlet width of the nozzle slot.
- cover elements can, for example, be designed as plates or Io as flexible sheets and can be kept in stock in different widths.
- the working width of the nozzle gap or of the nozzle slot is limited in a simple manner or adjusted to the desired working area by placing simple platelets at the points from which a gas is to escape, in particular in the area immediately next to the side edges of the strip material to be stripped or puts on sheets, which can also be variable in size.
- These relatively light cover elements which are loosely placed on the generally vertical or approximately vertical face of the mouthpiece of the nozzle, adhere to the nozzle mouthpiece due to the suction effect emanating from the gas blown out of the nozzle and cover the slot at the points at which no gas should escape .
- cover elements such as plates, sheets or the like are expedient. chosen so wide that the same gas can escape from the slot on both sides, because in this way the gas flowing around the ends of the cover elements causes a suction effect, which the plate, sheet or the like. holds with sufficient strength on the nozzle slot and thus covers it in the desired manner.
- the cover elements provided according to the invention drop off, but this does not play an important economic role because the cover elements can be produced inexpensively and, accordingly, can also be kept in large numbers in stock.
- the cover elements can also be captively attached to a guide.
- the cover elements to be provided according to the invention are easy to install since they can be designed extremely easily. They can also be conveniently adjusted and readjusted while the system is running.
- the plates, leaves or the like are expedient. dimensioned so that they protrude at least on the top over the mouthpiece, where they are sucked in by the pressure prevailing in the nozzle. They can thus be easily gripped or held and, accordingly, can be attached and readjusted particularly advantageously.
- the nozzle (l) has a hollow base body (2) of approximately teardrop-shaped cross section, the inner cavity (3) of which can be connected to a pressure gas source (not shown), so that gas under pressure flows into the cavity (3) and is evenly distributed therein .
- the base body (2) is equipped with a narrowed mouthpiece (4), the flat end (5) of which contains a slot (6) which extends over the entire length of the nozzle (l) and from which the cavity (3) of the base body (2) located, pressurized gas can flow out in the form of a narrow curtain-like jet.
- the width of the slot (6) is selected so that more pressurized gas can flow into the cavity (3) than can flow out of the slot (6), the gas located in the cavity (3) will extend over the entire length of the slot (6 ) blown out with uniform thickness and with the desired nozzle effect.
- small cover plates (7) are placed on the end face (5) of the mouthpiece (4), which, according to FIG. 1, have the upper edge (7a) over the end face (5 ) protrude from the mouthpiece (4) so that they can be comfortably gripped and positioned and / or moved or removed by hand.
- FIG. 2 shows that the plates (7) are held by the gas flowing out of the slot (6) on the end face (5) of the mouthpiece (4).
- the arrows (8) drawn in FIG. 2 symbolize the gas flow. It can be seen that the gas flow in the edge region of a placed plate (7) loses its normally straight direction and is deflected more or less strongly when flowing around the side edges (7b) of the plate (7), and forms vortices (8a) which form the plate (7) press on the face (5) of the mouthpiece (4). This surprisingly results in a pressure effect of the relatively light plate (7) against the end face (5) of the mouthpiece (4), which is sufficient to hold the plate (7) on the mouthpiece (4) so that certain of the plate (7) Areas of the slot (6) can be covered.
- platelets (7) in the edge region of the working width of the nozzle (1) are expedient if no blowing action is desired there. In this way the gas consumption can be reduced, just as undesired blowing effects can be avoided where the nozzle is not supposed to work.
- the platelets (7) are each fastened to a slide (10) which is positioned on a rod (11) running above the nozzle (l) in the longitudinal direction of the rod and thus along the nozzle slot (6 ) are movable.
- connection between the plate (7) and the respective carriage (10) is, for example, by a wire (12) or another connecting element, if necessary. also a thread or the like. produced.
- the plates (7) can be adjusted particularly well because you do not have to reach close to the nozzle slot (6) by hand. In addition, the plates (7) do not fall off even when the nozzle is at a standstill and are therefore immediately available again when the operation starts again.
- two nozzles (1a and 1b) lying opposite one another are provided, the slots (6) of which lie opposite one another at a short distance.
- Bow-like plates (13) are provided which hang on a carriage (14) which can be moved on parallel rods (15 and 16).
- a bracket (17) is used to connect the plate (13) and the carriage (14).
- the saddle-like plate (13) has two legs (13a and 13b) which lie against the opposing nozzle slots (6) of the nozzles (1a and 1b) when they are working.
- the plates (7 and 13) are attached to a holder in the embodiments according to FIGS. 3 and 4, they are in the same way on the end face (5) of the mouthpiece (4 ) held the nozzles, as explained above in connection with FIGS. 1 and 2.

Abstract
