Definitions

  • the invention relates to a container for the transport of dangerous liquids with a plastic container shaped as a cuboid with very rounded corners and edges, which has a handle parallel to two opposing side surfaces on the top and a pouring spout in the extension of the handle, with through openings for the carrying handle and the pouring spout, placed on the top of the plastic container as a protective device and stacking aid, positively connected to the container, a support surface is intended for a further container to be stacked on this container.
  • a container of this type is known for example from DE-A 3 237 537.
  • the plastic container is completely encased in a cardboard casing, and the protective device and stacking aid consist of two profile bodies which are arranged on both sides of the carrying handle and the pouring spout and which are held in position by the casing specially designed for this purpose.
  • the profile body can be connected to a one-piece attachment.
  • the cardboard sheathing is intended to provide the plastic container with additional mechanical protection, and the cardboard's moisture content is to prevent electrostatic charging of the plastic container wall.
  • the protective device and stacking aid on the one hand ensures that the carrying handle and the screw connections cannot be hit directly in the event of a fall or fall of the container, and on the other hand it provides a support surface for an additional container to be stacked over the container.
  • the known container is relatively expensive in terms of cost of materials and packaging.
  • For the sheathing a relatively large and complicated cut is required and the sheathing of the plastic container, and the positioning of the profile body is associated with a correspondingly large amount of work.
  • the invention is based on the object of designing a container of the type described in the introduction in such a way that less material is used and the packaging is cheaper, while at the same time all the technical requirements for such a container are met.
  • the idea should be maintained to ensure the mechanical stability of the plastic container through a cuboid shape with strongly rounded corners and edges and to arrange the handle and pouring spout on the top of the cuboid and to protect it from damage by means of molded elements placed on the plastic container, and thus at the same time stacking to facilitate the container.
  • plastics are available today which have improved resistance to electrostatic charging.
  • the invention is that the edge portion of the essay on the strongly rounded corners and edges between the top and the side walls of the plastic container, this supports around.
  • This design of the container results in easier assembly and positioning of the protective device and stacking aid and at the same time a substantial improvement in the stability of the container, because of the positive connection of the attachment with the plastic container on the one hand and the supporting overlapping of the rounded upper edges of the container on the other Can take over the stress that occurs in the area of the particularly endangered upper end of the plastic container due to impact and shock and can thus prevent damage to the plastic container.
  • there is an easier assembly and positioning of the protective device and stacking aid for the positioning and fixing of which the cardboard casing of the plastic container no longer has to be used, so that, if necessary, a simpler cut with less material consumption and easier assembly can be selected for such a casing considers it necessary at all. If it appears to be unnecessary, it can be dispensed with because it is in any case not necessary for holding and positioning the attachment.
  • a cardboard casing enclosing the side walls of the plastic container If a cardboard casing enclosing the side walls of the plastic container is provided, its position can be determined by positive locking with the plastic container and / or the attachment.
  • the simplest embodiment is that on the outside of the plastic container in the region of the lower end of the vertical side walls, a support is formed for the cardboard casing surrounding the side walls and that this casing is fixed in the vertical direction between this system and the attachment.
  • a self-contained cardboard sheet can thus be used as the covering, which is first stacked flat and, after simple expansion, can be easily pushed onto the plastic container from above, where it is fixed by subsequent application of the attachment.
  • individual shoulders are arranged as a support in the flat area of at least two opposite side surfaces, whereby the vertical edges of the plastic container remain without a projection, which could cause damage in the event of a fall or fall.
  • a particularly expedient embodiment consists in that the casing in the region of the vertical edges of the container is at least approximately adapted to the curvature of the rounded edges.
  • a particularly expedient embodiment consists in that the side walls and the underside of the plastic container are covered by a cardboard casing, which is designed as a folded bottom box with a self-contained jacket part and molded top and bottom flaps on the jacket sections assigned to the container side walls, the top and bottom flaps end at the rounded transitions in the area of the vertical container edges, in the area of which the jacket part is divided by vertical grooves into individual vertical strips which complement the transition to a polygon shape adapted to the transition, and that two adjacent bottom flaps are articulated to one another are.
  • a casing of this type can also be stacked flat and erected in a simple manner to form an open container, in which the plastic container can then be inserted from above. Since the top and bottom flaps are not led into the rounded corner area, there is no impairment of the adaptation of the vertical jacket part to the curvature of the rounding of the vertical edges of the plastic container.
  • the plastic container has on its underside a bead running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the handle, which is assigned a complementary bulge for engagement with stacked containers of the same type on the top of the attachment on both sides of the handle, with particular emphasis
  • the attachment has a central section lying on the top of the plastic container and containing the openings, on which support profiles formed on both sides in the direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the carrying handle connect to the attachment, the upper sides of which form the support surface and the bead in one the length of the center section of the attachment is interrupted by a centering section suitable for engagement between the support profiles.
  • attachment and the carrying handle have interlocking connecting elements, so that there are no connecting elements impairing the strength on the outer surfaces of the container, which are particularly at risk of impact and shock, while on the other hand the attachment is fastened by simply pressing onto the plastic container can be.
  • a container for dangerous liquids 10 consists of an approximately cuboid plastic container 12, the corners and edges of which are rounded with a large radius in order to achieve as uniform a wall thickness as possible of the plastic container 12, which is preferably produced by the blowing process.
  • the dimensions of the base area of the plastic container 12 are adapted to an optimal utilization of the loading area of the so-called Euro pallet. Deviating from the wall thickness, which is kept as uniform as possible in the other wall areas, an approximately trough-shaped bottom section 14 of the plastic container 12 is blown with an increased wall thickness, as a result of which sufficient rigidity and shock resistance are achieved in the lower container area.
  • This trough-shaped bottom section 14 comprises the container underside 16 and the adjoining rounded transitions 18 into the vertical side walls 20 of the plastic container 1.2.
  • its cross section is somewhat drawn in in the transition area from the rounded transitions 18 to the vertical side walls 20.
  • shoulders 22 drawn out of the rounded transitions 18 are formed in the middle of the lower boundary of the vertical side walls 20.
  • projections forming shoulders can also be arranged in the region of at least two opposite, flat side walls 20 of the plastic container.
  • the container 10 is symmetrical with respect to a vertical plane of symmetry 24.
  • a support runs on the top 26 of the plastic container 12 handle 28, the length of which is such that carrying the container 10 is possible with two hands.
  • a pouring spout 30 with an external thread 32 for screwing on a closure cap 33.
  • the cross section of the pouring spout 33 is relatively large, so that the plastic container 12 can be filled and emptied quickly.
  • the carrying handle 28 and the pouring spout 30 on the plastic container 12 initially not only hinder its vertical stackability, the pouring spout 30 and the carrying handle 28, as projecting parts, are also at risk in the event of the container falling and offer points of attack which damage the plastic container as a whole and could lead to an escape of the dangerous liquid. So that this danger is eliminated and the containers can be safely stacked vertically one above the other, in particular even when they are empty, an attachment 34 is placed on the top 26 of the plastic container 12, which is shown in more detail with reference to FIGS. 4-7 and 9 is explained.
  • the attachment 34 is also symmetrical with respect to the plane of symmetry 24. It covers the entire top side 26 of the plastic container 12 like a cap, but it is provided with an opening 36 for the passage of the carrying handle 28 and an opening 38 for the passage of the pouring spout 30.
  • openings 36 and 38 are located in a section of the attachment 34, designated as a whole by 40, which is in a section along the plane of symmetry 24 and in the area of the transitions 42 rounded off with a large radius between the top side 26 of the plastic container 12 and its side walls 20 directly on the wall of the plastic container 12 rests and which consists of a band-shaped central section 44 containing the openings 36 and 38 and a frame-shaped edge section 46 which is curved downward in accordance with the curvature of the transitions 42 and is connected to both ends of the central section 44.
  • the lower end of the edge section 46 is angled to form a downward-pointing shoulder 48 which is opposite in the vertical direction of the shoulder 22 and a collar 50 which is at a distance from the side walls 20 of the plastic container 12 and which is vertically downward by the width of the shoulder 48.
  • the width of the shoulders 22 and 48 corresponds approximately to the thickness of a cardboard cover 52 which envelops the side walls of the plastic container 12, which not only obstructs mechanical effects, but above all suppresses static electricity charging due to its moisture.
  • This casing 52 can be pushed as a ready-made, inexpensively manufactured element of the simplest shape before the attachment 34 is placed on the top 26 of the plastic container 12 from above onto the plastic container 12 until its lower edge rests on the shoulders 22. Subsequently, the attachment 34 is placed on the upper side 26 of the plastic container 12 and overlaps with the rim 50 the upper edge of the casing 52 and thus fixes this as a casing for the side walls 50.
  • support profiles 54 which extend at least up to the height of the carrying handle 28 and the closed pouring spout 30, are integrally formed on the attachment 34 serve as a support for the additional container to be stacked on the container 10.
  • the support profiles 54 have a substantially rectangular cross section with an inner side surface 56 that extends vertically upwards from the lateral boundary of the central section 44, an upper, horizontal support surface 58 and a vertical, outer side surface 60 that leads to the upper side 26 of the plastic container 12 leads back approximately in the area in which the curved transitions 42 connect to the upper side 26.
  • the support profiles 54 are provided with brackets 64 projecting outward from the outer side surfaces 60 into the plane of the side walls 20.
  • the bearing surfaces 58 of the support profiles 54 serving as a support for the container underside 16 of the container 10 stacked above them are provided in the area of the consoles 64 with upwardly curved extensions 66 which adapt to the rounded transition 18 of the plastic container 12 located above them and which finally have an opposite curvature in the vertical outer side faces 68 of the brackets 64, which extend in the extension of the side faces 20, pass over, so that the two brackets 64 have lugs 70 which project upwards and the container 10 stacked above them with respect to the plane of symmetry 24.
  • each of the bearing surfaces 58 is provided with a bead 72 which projects in the direction of this central plane 62 and projects upwards and has a somewhat smaller height than the lugs 70.
  • a bead 74 is associated with this bead 72 on the underside of the container 16, the bead 72 and the bead 74 having semi-circular cross sections which are matched to one another.
  • the bead 74 does not cross the entire underside of the container 16, rather it is interrupted by a centrally arranged centering section 75, the length of which corresponds to the distance between the support profiles 54 on the attachment 34, so that the beads 72 on both support profiles 54 can be received by the two sections of the bead 74, while the centering section 75 engages in the space between the two support profiles 54, so that stacked containers 10 in the longitudinal direction of the bead 54 and the beads 72nd by the engagement of the centering section 75 between the support profiles 54 and in the transverse direction thereof by the engagement of the beads 72 in the bead 74.
  • the contact surfaces 58 are higher in the example shown than the upper edge of the handle 28, so that this does not hinder the engagement of the centering section 75 between the support profiles 54. But it can also be the upper edge of the handle 28 higher than the bearing surfaces 58; in such a case, the centering section 75 and the container underside 16 must be provided with a recess into which the carrying handle 28 and possibly also the pouring spout 30 together with its closure cap 33 can engage.
  • the lugs 70 can optionally also be omitted and with them the brackets 64 protruding beyond the outer, vertical side walls 60 of the support profiles 54, which simplifies the process
  • the design of the attachment 34 results, as shown in FIG. 6, where the side surface 60 extends without interruption over the entire length of the support profile 54.
  • the carrying handle 28 has an I-shaped cross section and is provided near its connection with the top 26 of the plastic container 12 with projections 76, under which corresponding mounting portions 78 on the attachment 34 can snap resiliently when the attachment 34 from above onto the top 26 of the Plastic container 12 is pressed.
  • the attachment 34 sits exactly positioned on the top of the plastic container 12 and not only offers flat support surfaces in the form of the support surfaces 58 for the upper container to be stacked and for transferring the stacking load from the upper to the lower container, but rather through the edge section 46 of the attachment 34 of the particularly endangered, curved transition area of the plastic container 12, it is protected by the support profiles 54, the carrying handle 28 and the pouring spout 30, in particular if the container 10 falls, and it is protected by the interaction of the beads 72 and the bead 74, as well as the lugs 70 and / or the centering section 75 ensure an exact mutual alignment of the stacked containers.
  • the attachment 34 also defines the cardboard casing 52, which is particularly easy to manufacture and assemble, on the side walls 20 of the plastic container 12.
  • the shape of the plastic container 12 and attachment 34 is selected so that when the attachment 34 is snapped onto the plastic container 12 there is mutual tension in the elastic deformation region, as a result of which the plastic container 12 and the attachment 34 are connected to form a stable unit.
  • FIGS. 8 and 9 Another, very advantageous embodiment is shown in FIGS. 8 and 9.
  • the casing 152 surrounds not only the side walls 20, but also the bottom section 14 of the plastic container 12, in the manner of a box open at the top.
  • the bottom of the casing 152 is designed in a manner known per se as a folding base, which enables the casing 152 on the one hand to be stacked flat and on the other hand to be erected into their box shape with a single movement.
  • two adjacent bottom flaps adjoining the lower edges of the casing sections 153a, 153b, 153c and 153d of the casing 152 which are assigned to the side walls 20 of the plastic container 12 are connected to one another to form a folded edge.
  • Cover flaps 157a-157d adjoin the upper edges of the jacket sections 153a-153d, which extend over the rounded transition 42 between the side walls 20 of the plastic container 12 and its top side 26 to this top side 26 and which are clamped by the attachment of the attachment 34 . So that the attachment 34 can rest on the upper side 26, it is provided on its side facing the plastic container 12 with the shape of the cover flaps 157a-157d adapted recesses.
  • projections are provided in the original wall thickness, the outline of which is adapted to openings 163a-163d in the cover flaps 157a-157d and engage in these openings 163a-163d when the attachment 34 is placed around the casing 152 in their position to fix on the plastic container 152.
  • the bottom flaps and the top flaps 157a-157d are connected only along the flat area of the side walls 20 of the plastic container 12 to the casing part of the casing 152, so that the vertical edges of the casing 152 more the curvature of the rounded transitions 19 between the side walls 20 of the plastic container 12 or less can be customized.
  • three vertical grooves 161 are provided in each edge region, by means of which two narrow, vertical strips 165 are delimited between the jacket sections 153a-153d, which form a polygonal shape which adapts to the transition 19 when the jacket 152 is unfolded . Accordingly, the bottom flaps are chamfered so that the bottom does not protrudes beyond the outline of the coat.
