- the gear ratios correspond to the target speeds that result for the relevant rolling units from the caliber acceptance series that is decisive for the respective material qualities or the rolled product to be produced.
- a certain speed ratio of the two drive shafts to one another is derived from this, to which these ratios are matched. If other materials are to be rolled or other rolled products are to be produced, the bevel gear and the speed ratio of the two drive shafts can remain unchanged. However, the speeds of the drive shafts have to be changed in accordance with the different operating requirements. Modified transfer cases must therefore be installed.
