Definitions
- the invention relates to a pin mill according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Pin mills of this type have an annular stator which is provided with cylindrical pins arranged parallel to one another.
- a rotor in the form of a disk is arranged inside the stator, on the outer circumference of which a number of cylindrical pins are arranged which are arranged parallel to the stator pins and pass the stator pins leaving a small gap.
- the rotor disc is driven at high speed by a motor located outside the mixer tank.
- the rotor and stator are spaced from the inside of the wall of the container.
- the mixing tools of the mixer can be designed and arranged such that they slide at least partially through the space between the rotor and stator on the one hand and the container wall on the other hand, so that the largest possible part of the container is axially swept by the mixing tools. This measure therefore serves to prevent dead zones.
- the pin mills are used in particular for the defined distribution of viscous, ie flowable materials, since a shear gradient is generated in the gap between the rotor pins and the stator pins.
- the invention has for its object to develop a pin mill of the generic type so that an improvement in the grinding result is achieved without there being a significant increase in drive power.
- the configuration according to the invention allows particularly optimized conveying effects to be achieved.
- the largely conventional mixer shown in the drawing has a horizontal, stationary, cylindrical container 1, which is closed at the end and held at the same time by side walls 2, 3 acting as stands. On the side walls 2, 3, bearing blocks 4 are fastened, in which a shaft 5 of a mixing mechanism 6, which is arranged concentrically to the container 1, is mounted. It is driven by a drive motor 7 via a V-belt drive 8 and a gear 9.
- the mixing mechanism 6 has mixing tools 10, which are designed in the form of blades and are held by means of mixing tool carriers 11 which are attached to the shaft 5 and project radially therefrom.
- the mixing tools lo themselves are located in the vicinity of the inner wall 12 of the container 1.
- a material inlet 13 On the top of the container 1, a material inlet 13 is arranged; a material outlet 14 is provided on the underside.
- the mixer is operated in batches as a so-called turbulent mixer, i.e. it is a throwing mixer in which the individual mix particles are thrown up and return to a mix bed on a parabolic throw path.
- a so-called pin mill 15 is installed in the wall 12 of the container 1, which is described in detail below: On the outside of the wall 12 of the container 1, specifically in the area below the shaft 5 (see FIG. 2), there is a flange bearing 16 attached to which a motor 17 is flanged. A coupling 18 connects the output shaft of the motor 17 to a drive shaft 19 of the pin mill 15. This drive shaft 19 passes through the wall 12.
- the pin mill 15 also has two support rods 2o serving as stator carriers, which also pass through the wall 12, and which extend in a radial plane are arranged to the shaft 5 so that they represent only a slight obstacle for mixing tools lo, as can be seen in particular from FIG.
- a stator 22 is attached to the two support rods 2o, which consists of a ring 23 and pins 24.
- the pins 24 extend parallel to the axis 21 and are arranged on a circular ring.
- the axis 21 also intersects the axis 25 of the shaft 5 at a right angle, as can be seen in FIG. 2.
- the width of the ring 23 is only so large that it can be attached to the support rods 2o, and as is otherwise necessary for design reasons.
- it has a hub 27, which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the drive shaft 19 and on which there is approximately radial outwardly extending wings 28 are attached.
- These wings 28 can have various configurations.
- a wing 28 ' is designed as a simple, elongated, rectangular profile, which is arranged radially to the axis 21 and exerts purely tangential forces on the individual particles of the mixed material.
- a wing 28 ′′ can be designed such that its radially outer end 29 runs in relation to the direction of rotation 30 of the drive shaft 19, that is to say exerts a combined radial and tangential acceleration on the mix. Finally, in the case of a wing 28 ′′ ′′, at least the outer end 29 ′ can still be set at an angle, so that it is guided past the pins 24 in the manner of a pulling cut.
- the pins 24 have a square cross section.
- the cross-sectional shape itself is not significant; however, the edge 31 on each pin 24 has some significance, which is assigned to a corresponding cutting edge 32 at the radially outer end 29 or 29 'of the wings 28. A certain cutting effect thus takes place between the respective edge 31 and the corresponding cutting edge 32 - even if there is a gap 33 of 1 to 3 mm width between the cutting edge 32 and the edge 31.
- the rotor 26 of the pin mill 15 is driven at a speed of 15oo to 3ooo rpm.
- the container 1 In normal operation, the container 1 is about 50% to 70% of its volume filled with mixed material. It is mixed turbulently by the mixer and loosened overall and thrown through the mixing container.
- the vanes 28 of the rotor 26 drive individual mixed material particles through the pins 24 of the stator 22 at high speed.
- the mixed material reaches the vanes 28 from the inside of the container 1; but it also reaches the wings by means of the mixing tools 10 from the area between the wall 12 of the container 1 and the stator 22. This happens in particular because the mixing tools lo almost completely cover the area between the stator rotor on the one hand and wall 12 on the other. Only the space covered by the two support rods 20 and the drive shaft 19 is not covered.
- the use of the pin mill 15 is particularly important when a powdery or pourable material is to be mixed with relatively small amounts of liquid in the mixer, so that the liquid is only intended to wet the individual particles of the mixed material. Agglomerates form here on a large scale and have to be dissolved again.
- the supply of such a liquid can, for example done directly into the area of the pin mill by means of a liquid nozzle 34. Such uses and applications are generally known for pin mills.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1 einen vertikalen Längsschnitt durch einen Mischer,
- Fig. 4 eine Draufsicht auf die Stiftmühle.
-
- W = Umfangsgeschwindigkeit der radial äußeren Enden der Mischwerkzeuge lo in m/s
- R = Radius des Mischwerks 6 in m
- g = Erdbeschleunigung in m/s2.
