Description

  • Gegenstand der Erfindung betrifft eine Startschote zum Anheben des Segels eines Surfbrettes gemäss dem Oberbegriff des Patentanspruchs 1. Eine solche Startschote ist beispielsweise aus DE-A-3333547 bekannt geworden. Es ist weiter bereits eine Startschote für Surfbretter bekannt, die einen Kern aus Gummi und einen darum herum geflochtenen Mantel aufweist und die einerseits am Gabelbaum und andererseits am Mastfuss befestigt wird. Wohl liegt diese Schot während des Surfens im wesentlichen gespannt am Mast an, doch erweist sich das Hochziehen des im Wasser liegenden Mastes mit der elastischen Schot als nicht geeignet, weil das Segel nach dem Ablösen von der Wasseroberfläche durch das stark gespannte Gummiseil plötzlich hochschnellt.
  • Es ist weiter eine Startschote aus einem längsstabilen Seil und einem auf halber Länge des Seiles befestigten zum Mastfuss führenden Gummiband oder -seil bekannt. Bei dieser Ausführung wird nur die obere Seilhälfte gespannt gehalten; das freie untere Ende hängt indessen lose baumelnd herab.
  • Diese Nachteile zu beheben, ist Aufgabe dieser Erfindung.
  • Gelöst wird diese Aufgabe durch eine Startschote mit den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen des Patentanspruches 1.
  • Die erfindungsgemässe Startschote liegt bei Nichtgebrauch stets gespannt zwischen den Befestigungspunkten; bei Gebrauch wird die am Seilende oder an beliebiger Stelle angreifende Zugkraft sofort und ohne vorangehende Dehnung auf den Mast übertragen.
  • An zwei illustrierten Ausführungsbeispielen von Startschoten wird die Erfindung näher erläutert. Es zeigen:
    • Figur 1 eine Startschote mit glatter Oberfläche,
    • Figur 2 einen Querschnitt längs Linie 11-11 in Figur 1,
    • Figur 3 einen Längsschnitt durch eine Startschote mit genoppter Oberfläche und
    • Figur 4 eine an einem Surfbrett befestigte Startschote.
  • Die in Figur 1 dargestellte Startschote 1 besteht aus einem dehnungsarmen Zugseil 3, das am einen Ende einen verjüngten Abschnitt 5 zum Befestigen der Schote 1 am Gabelbaum 7 eines Surfbrettes 9 aufweist. In den Zugteil 1, der hohl, d. h. schlauchförmig ausgebildet ist, ist ein Gummiseil 11 eingelegt und am Ende des Zugseiles 3, wo dieses sich verjüngt, festgemacht. Das andere freie Ende des Gummiseiles 11, das in ungedehntem Zustand länger ist als das Zugseil 3, ist mit einer Kausche 13 und/oder einem Haken 15 versehen. Das Zugseil 3 kann aus einem dehnungsfreien Gummischlauch oder aus einem weichen Gummi- oder Kunststoffschlauch, der mit einem Kunststoffmantel 17 umflochten ist, bestehen.
  • Das innenliegende Ende des Gummiseiles 11 kann auch in das dehnungsfreie, verjüngte Ende 5 der Schote 1 eingeflochten sein.
  • Anstelle eines Zugseiles 3 mit zylindrischer Oberfläche kann ein solches mit im wesentlichen kugelförmigen Verdickungen 19 verwendet werden (Fig.2). Die Verdickungen 19, welche eine gute Griffigkeit gewährleisten, können aus auf das Zugseil 3 aufgesetzten Kunststoffkörpern bestehen. Es ist auch möglich, das Zugseil 3, wenn es hergestellt wird, mit Verdickungen 19 zu versehen.
  • Das Gummiseil 11 liegt auch in dieser Ausführungsform lose in einer im Zugseil 3 verlaufenden Bohrung 23 und ist am verjüngten Abschnitt 5 befestigt. Das aus Gummi oder Schaumstoff bestehende Zugseil 3 und der Abschnitt 5 desselben sind vorzugsweise von einem geflochtenen Mantel 17 umschlossen.
  • Die erfindungsgemässe Startschote 1 wird mit einem Knoten mit dem dünnen Abschnitt 5 am Gabelbaum 7 befestigt. Das andere Ende, das vom Ende des Gummiseils 11 gebildet wird, das aus dem Zugseil 3 herausgeführt ist, wird mit dem Haken 15 am Fuss des Mastes 25 befestigt, und zwar so, dass die Startschote 1 leicht gespannt ist und nicht am Mast 25 baumelt.
  • Fällt das Segel 27 ins Wasser, so ergreift der Surfer das Zugseil 3 und zieht daran das Segel 27 hoch. Beim Erfassen der Startschote 1 kann sofort eine Zugkraft auf den Gabelbaum 7 übertragen werden, denn das Zugseil 3 und der Abschnitt 5 sind dehnungsfrei. Beim Anheben des unteren Endes der parallel zum Mast 25 im Wasser liegenden Startschote 1 dehnt sich das sehr elastische und lange Gummiseil 11 im Zugseil 3 und gleitet teilweise aus diesem heraus, so dass letzteres stets gestreckt bleibt und die Zugkraft dehnungslos auf den Mast 25 überträgt.
  • Selbstverständlich kann das erfindungsgemässe Seil nicht nur als Startschote 1 an Surfbrettern 9 verwendet werden, sondern auch für andere Zwecke, bei denen ein dehnungsfreies Zugseil 3 während des Nichtgebrauchs in einer von der üblichen Zugrichtung unterschiedlichen Lage gehalten wird.
  • Damit das in der Bohrung 23 eingelegte Gummiseil 11 unter allen Bedingungen stets gut gleitet, insbesondere wieder in die Bohrung 23 zurückkehrt, sobald der Zug aufhört, kann die Oberfläche des Gummiseils 11 mit einer Gleitschicht versehen sein. Die Gleitschicht kann durch Imprägnieren aufgetragen werden, sie kann aber auch aus gutgleitenden Fasern bestehen, welche einen Mantel um das Gummiseil 11 bilden.

Claims (10)

1. Startschote mit einem am Gabelbaum befestigten Zugseil und einem mit dem einen Ende am Zugseil befestigten Gummiseil zum Festhalten der Startschote in einer Lage parallel zum Mast eines Surfbrettes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gummiseil (11) lose in eine koaxiale Bohrung (23) innerhalb des Zugseiles (3) eingelegt ist, wobei das obere Ende in der Bohrung (23) oder am Ende der Bohrung (23) mit dem Zugseil (3) verbunden ist und wobei das untere freie Ende aus der Bohrung (23) herausgeführt und am Mastfuss befestigt ist.
2. Startschote nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Zugseil (3) aus Gummi oder Schaumstoff besteht und mit einem dehnungsarmen Mantel (17) umflochten ist.
3. Startschote nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Mantel (17) länger ist als das Zugseil (3) und ein über das Zugseil (3) hinausführender Abschnitt (5) dünner ist als das Zugseil (3).
4. Startschote nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gummiseil (11) im Abschnitt (5) des Zugseiles (3) befestigt ist.
5. Startschote nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Zugseil (3) mehrere Verdickungen (19) aufweist.
6. Startschote nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Verdickungen (19) aus im wesentlichen kugelförmigen Kunststoffkörpern bestehen, welche auf das Zugseil (3) aufgebracht sind.
7. Startschote nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass am freien, aus dem Zugseil (3) herausgeführten Ende des Gummiseiles (11) eine Kausche (13) und/oder ein Haken (15) zum Festmachen des Gummiseiles (11) am Surfbrett (9) angebracht ist.
8. Startschote nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Oberfläche des Gummiseiles (11) mit einem Gleitmittel versehen ist.
9. Startschote nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gummiseil (11) mit einem Mantel umflochten ist und das Gleitmittel den Fasern des das Gummiseil (11) umgebenden Mantels beigegeben ist.
10. Surfbrett versehen mit einer Startschote (1) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9.
