- the practice of velocross on steep terrain requires, after each descent, an ascent which can only be done on foot by pushing the cycle.
- mountain biking involves long climbs, exhausting for hikers.
- ski lifts which are generally unused in summer. We can therefore consider taking advantage of the existence of these ski lifts, to ensure the ascent of cycles during periods when there is no snow, and thus allow the practice of velocross downhill, in the conditions as pleasant as possible. But the traction of the cycles presents two important differences compared to that of the other machines usually towed by the ski lifts.
- the purpose of the present invention is to ensure the attachment of the cycles to the cable of the ski lifts by meeting all the conditions previously exposed.
- this connecting device between a general tractor cable and a cycle is characterized in that it comprises a tractor part which is connected to the general tractor cable by means of a tension regulator, an individual tractor cable or an individual tractor bar, provided with the both of a device tension regulator, a towed part connected to the cycle and a safety coupling device between the two tractor and towed parts, with automatic coupling by engagement of one of these two parts in the other, this coupling device comprising , taking into account the effect of the tension regulation device, stall means operating on the towed part and releasing the cycle when the driver so desires and possibly in automatic safety, as well as automatic stall means operating on the part tractor, and releasing the cycle when it deviates from the normal ascent trajectory or when it falls on the ground.

- the lug 21 is secured to an arm 25 pivotally mounted about a horizontal and transverse axis 26 and pushed upwards by a spring 27. Again a pull cable 24 attached to the lug 21 makes it possible to pivot the latter downwards, against the force exerted by the spring 27, to release the towed part 5 from the towing part 4.
